I Know I'm Not Good At Conversation... [Open]

Terrence most definitely wasn't exactly the type to walk up to someone and start talking. Nope. Not at all. He left that to the experts. Who were the extroverts. Terrence was the opposite - an introvert. A fact he knew as well as he knew that water was wet and that E = mc². Then again, everyone knew those things, right? So everyone knew he was an introvert. 

That was a wide assumption to make, but it was most probably true. It was painfully obvious, along with his self-concious and awkward nature. He couldn't speak two words to a stranger without stuttering. That was difficult enough, in itself.

That was also why he almost constantly hid in the shelves of the Library. He had a good enough excuse, you know... he was the Librarian after all. Not just some random loony... well.

Thanks to his almost constant presence around the shelves, he was always nearby when people wanted a hand. He knew where most things were... and knew a lot of the students who came by to read or study or whatever they wanted. He didn't mind seeing anyone and everyone, as long as they didn't talk to him and didn't make too much noise. 

Right now, he was shuffling books around. Some people didn't seem to understand the concept of organization and alphabetical order... seriously, wasn't this kindergarten knowledge?

Annie was feverish and exhausted more often than not, a side effect to her healing power. Today was an especially full day in training and she felt physically spent, drained of energy. So she took a long, good nap when she found herself free of obligations, huddled in her big red hoodie and blanket, despite the the fact that spring was making itself more and more present. When she woke up, feeling a bit better, she decided to hit the library in search of a new novel, since she wasn't really feeling strong enough to go out.

She dragged her feet the whole way there, the guitar from the song "Said The People" by Dinosaur Jr. wailing in her ears. She didn't talk to anybody and no one bothered to acknowledge her. When she arrived at the library she took a look at the many shelves stocked with books and felt daunted by their number. Suddenly, all the titles she planned on searching for disappeared from her mind, so she decided to ask someone for a list. She headed for the librarian's desk but stopped short when she didn't see anyone there. "Great." she muttered and resumed walking over there anyway. There weren't many people around, maybe she could use the computer on her own to find herself something.

As she was walking toward the desk, though, she spotted someone between shelves appearing to rearrange some books and veered towards him. She usually read downloaded e-books on her phone or listened to audiobooks, so she only went to the library to study sometimes, but she thought she recognized him. He seemed quite focused on his task so she tapped his shoulder. "Hey. Hi. Can I get some advice?"

Terrence did listen to audiobooks from time to time, and was a proud owner of his very own kindle, as well as having it on his phone and such, simply so he could always access some form of literature, no matter the circumstance. However, it was a given that nothing really compared to the real deal, the sheets of bound paper, the smell of fresh printing, the feel of the material between your fingers, your own narration, interpretatio... there were many reasons that Terrence could list for days, telling you why he liked reading books, but he knew that that wasn't wanted. Or neccessary. And he didn't want to be annoying.

One of the few exceptions of his statement before, of not being spoken to, was for help. That was one of the reasons he was there, and he wouldn't deny anyone the help when it was part of his job to do just that.

But he was still an easily frightened creature, and he was quite engrossed in his organizing, so when someone touched his shoulder, he jumped slightly at first, before turning and looking (down) at the girl, only doing so because he was so much taller.

"Uh," his speech struggled to come into his thoughts, "Y-yes, yes of, of, of c-course." His words stuttered and strained their way into the air. He looked at the girl and sent her a smile, a little crooked but genuine, "W-what do, do y-you need?"

Anita was used to looking up at everyone, short as she was, and she did know the boy was taller than most people she knew. Yet, she found herself craning her neck up and up and up... She took a step back and adjusted her position, thinking she should wear high heels more often and then quickly dismissing the thought. She saw the boy's mouth moving and realized her iPod was still on so she pulled her earphones from her ears, twisted the cord around the device and put it back in her pocket.

She didn't really expect a guy of such height to stutter and she tried to mask her amused expression with one of kindness instead. The second he finished talking, she worried that he might actually have a speaking difficulty and felt insensitive. Then, she realized he had finished talking for a while and was smiling at her, waiting.

She shook her head a little and frowned, trying to remember what she wanted. Damned fever. "Uh," she imitated. "I was just looking for something to read," she continued. Duh, Annie. she thought. You are in a library. She cleared her throat. "A novel, though I'm not sure what and I was wondering if you could suggest some titles. A thriller, or something futuristic maybe?"
