With an icepack held up to his eye, Cam blamed his current headache for why he was tearing up. Besides his head being in a ton of pain, so was his chest. He had slipped into the boy’s bathroom and lifted his shirt to check the damage. Goddamn, at least the only bruises people would be able to see unless they decided to strip him was his eye. Shit, he was such a pussy.
Making his way back to dorms, Cam was afraid that Oriel would still be hanging around in his room. Now the blond was even more glad that he hadn’t brought any of his personal belongings from his truck yet. He’d been here for like, a week, and was already beaten up. Not exactly the warm welcome he had been expecting. He knew he had a lot of apologizing to do, but shit...
Cam found himself heading in his usual direction, which wasn’t where his new room was. He needed solace right now, and someone he could trust. One person in particular came to mind, someone who had never put up with his shit but still treated him like a human being. It seemed that anyone with the last name ‘Bell’ turned out to be a great friend through thick and thin.
This was the first time Cam knocked on Mia’s door because of something serious. Never before had he really talked about his problems with her, but it was high time he let her in. She deserved that much at least. Seeing the flash of pink show up in the door frame, Cam wasn’t sure what to say. There were so many things, but he there was a frog in his throat as old feelings soared. He must’ve looked ridiculous holding an icepack over half of his face. Unwanted tears slipped from his eyes. “Hey,” he said hoarsely, “c-can I come in?”
