Numb, that's all he could feel was numb. And at times, he felt angry. Horribly angry like he'd been made a terrible fool of. It hadn't even been completely out in the public. He'd told Lucy, and God knew who Alex told. He didn't want to be angry with Alex because things just hadn't worked between them. It was natural for things like this to happen, but that didn't make him feel any better. In fact, he felt worse. Worse than he had even before because now, he felt weak and like he would never be able to retrieve that equilibrium he'd had before. The equilibrium of just whoring around for fun and not being completely opposed to anything else happening. But now that he was hurt and angry, well, he didn't quite know what was going to happen.
In most cases of frustration or doubt, he went to the auditorium and danced because that was just what felt right to him. He'd made it through the dance season, somehow managing to stay on the team, but he didn't know if he'd be able to get back on it next year if the coach noted him failing. She wouldn't be too thrilled. It didn't matter though, he'd continue to dance even if it wasn't with all of his friends. Besides, half the girls he danced with were half of those girls that were up Alex's ass and thought him to be some adorable little perfect thing. He didn't need them blaming him for anything that Alex was going through now. It would only make him angry and he'd turn into the guy that'd he worked so hard to be rid of.
IPod in hand, Rowan walked up the steps and onto the stage, his eyes were dead, his body tense and he placed it on the docking station. After warming up a little he flipped to a song he'd been choreographing to and took his position on the stage. All he could hope for was that no one interrupted him because he wouldn't be the same carefree, snarky Rowan everyone expected. Hell, he didn't even know what he expected to be. The song began and he threw himself into the routine, his anger making the dancing passionate and intense, the song only adding to it.
