Dinner Date (Everett)

Faye stood at the door of Everett's apartment, shocked that the day actually came that she was there. Their flirtation had been going on for far too long and it was damn time that he was manning up and dining her. In her hands, she had wine. On her body she had a red dress with a special surprise underneath should he get that far, which she doubted he would.

She didn't know what the hell all this was about. She wasn't interested. He was young. He was a toy. He as something to keep her mind off of other things while she was at work, right? Then again, he was cute, and sweet, and the whole nerd thing had made its way into a soft spot in her icy heart. No. 

She knocked, and waited, trying to dismiss the butterflies that were starting to wake up in her stomach. Weird.

Everett was in his apartment, the fan on over the stove, viciously working away at the dinner he was cooking for Faye. Pasta, asparagus and garlic bread. All home-made. He was preparing his home made alfredo sauce when there was a knock on the door and he left the asparagus sizzzling in the olive oil on the stove to go answer the door, in a button up blue shirt with a superman shirt underneath and a pair of jeans that were fairly nice looking, but when he threw open the door, he felt underdressed

Faye was in a red dress and standing on his doorstep and all he could do was smile like an idiot at her as he made stupid hand motions for her to come inside.

It was typical for Faye to be the more overdone one out of the duo, or really out of anyone. Maybe it was her shitty self confidence, or her ex-husbands bank account, but she owned mostly designer everything and rarely could be caught in jeans. 

"Man of many words." she teased as she entered his apartment for the first time. It was always strange seeing someones place, it said a lot about them- or should. If they were in her place they'd be looking at the final couple boxes that needed to be unpacked in the living room, a big fluffy cat, and white couches that were probably a horrible idea.

"Wow it actually smells decent in here." She teased taking in the scent of fresh italian food. It smelled incredible. "Need any help? oh!" She chuckled and handed him the wine "I figured I'd contribute a bit."

"You know I talk a lot. Usually anyway," Everett muttered as she walked in past him and he shut the door behind her. He was slightly nervous though, which was contributing to his quietness.

His apartment was incredibly clean--only because Gabe had decided that lately he needed to keep the place absolutely tighty. He'd even stacked Everett's comic books neatly on the coffee table. "It's not usually this clean in here," he felt the need to tell her. "My roommate has been hitting spring cleaning pretty hard." He laughed a bit nervously, especially when she said it actually smelled decent. "What did you think it would smell like? Man?" If there was one thing Ev took pride in, it was his cooking. He knew he was good at it and he enjoyed it, not to mention it did make his apartment smell good. Food was one of the best smells.

As he handed her the bottle of wine, he said, "You can help if you want. I just have to prepare the garlic bread and add a few seasonings." He led her back towards the kitchen where he set down the glasses and took out two wine glasses from the cupboard and set them on the island. He made sure when he got an apartment that he liked the kitchen. This one was a good size. And had an island with several stools.
