The sun was finally starting to set. It'd gone down enough that Junpei could safely roam around his own house. Well, Yue's house. It wasn't going to be his home for much longer. As bad as he felt about leaving his fiance behind, he didn't have any other choice. She was confident that Junpei was still the same person, just as a different being. She thought he still loved her, and in a way he did. But it wasn't the same. There was no way it could be the same ever again. Which meant that he no longer had a place here in this house in this neighborhood that housed the rest of the hunters. He could let them catch him, let them kill him, but...Junpei still had something he had to do. A reckoning. With the one who'd doomed him into this pathetic, pain-filled life. Who's ignorant and naive actions had ruined the lives of so many people, himself, Yue, Xun...it had disrupted the order significantly. It was repairable, but drastic measures had to be taken. Junpei didn't even know if the rest of the hunters knew of the betrayal yet. If they didn't now, they would soon, and once they did, they would be moving as one to put down the deserter and his vampire pet. Which meant they would be coming after Junpei soon as well. Junpei had to finish what he had to do before they did. No, he would.
The vampire had sent Yue out earlier for supplies. She returned with a stock of blood bags, two of which he downed as soon as she arrived, the other two he had stored in the refrigerator until further notice. She had asked what happened with Xun. Junpei told her that he agreed to help them. He didn't tell her about the imprint. She didn't know about those yet, so it was easy to lie about it. A part of him wished that he could take Yue with him but...not only would she just be in the way, but if she threw her life away for him, then that would make her a fugitive as well. No, he had to leave her behind. Junpei had given her one last bout of pleasure before he put her to sleep. He didn't know exactly what powers he had now as a vampire, but he knew what they were capable of. That was probably to his own benefit, because it was easy for him to figure out which ones he could use and which ones he would need more practice with. Erasing memories wasn't a terribly difficult task.
Being the home of a hunter, it was easy enough to restock on actual vampire slaying supplies. He would need it, if his new abilities failed him. That and he was comfortable using them. The crossbow loaded with a hawthorne wood arrows and tipped in silver, the gun with a round on 9 silver bullets, the holy water vials....the talismans, unfortunately, would affect him just by touching them, so he had to leave them behind. He tested them, but found that his magical abilities had waned in response to the change. Well, that was unfortunate for his "parents" who were clearly hoping to gain a sorcerer in their family. Not that he'd be joining the family. He was about to go destroy his "brother" and his former partner. Or, be killed by them.
Junpei had never been bothered by the weight and clutter of equipment under his black trench-coat as a human, and now as a vampire, he was even less bothered by them. That made it easier for him to move. He stepped out of the house the moment the sun had dipped completely below the horizon and started his way down the street at an inhuman speed. He could feel the signature left by his doll-hunter. Junpei followed the trail, hoping to get there before the duo left from their hiding place.
