At least the newspaper and the yearbook have access to mimeographs. Still, it's hard to remember priorities at a time like this.

With his hand written article in hand, Oliver entered the infrequently used publications room to make several copies of his article for English class. The shy boy had never thought of joining a club in school other than basketball, but was interested in the journalist world. The only problem was his crippling anxiety that affected him each and every day.

With a sigh, Oliver fired up the old copying machine, waiting for it to go through the familiar hums and whirls he knew all too well. It seemed to be taking longer than usual, so he gently nudged the machine with his foot on the side. He wasn't in a rush, but the thing took too long anyway. Not that the shy boy would say anything to officials about the state of the thing. They had bigger issues to worry about than the copying machine in the publications room.

The door swung open, and Oliver jumped in place, startled. Who else would be coming in here? An unfamiliar girl entered the room, and he cleared his throat as the light began to flicker. "Oh... uh, hello." He greeted awkwardly.
