Name: Ziggy Ida Mistral
Nicknames: Zig, Misty.

Powers: Bioluminescence – Ziggy is what some would call a human flashlight. She can emit a soft glow from her very skin. Depending on the circumstances it can be quite bright. Her skin can also become warm to the touch when lit. But like most Biolumo’s she doesn’t sleep very well. Oh well who needs sleep anyways.
Play By: Emma Watson
The Details
Hair Color: Ziggy has shoulder length hair and these days she can remember what her natural colour is. She is currently parading a soft caramel.
Eye Color: Miss Misty’s eyes as a dark brown.
Any Piercings? None
Any Tattoos? None
Any Scars? She a few scars mostly from her abusive father. Although her father isn’t completely to blame the neighbourhood kids were little assholes.
General Appearance: Ziggy measures about 5 foot 4inches, she isn’t overly tall but her body shape and her weight make her look a little lanky. When she is in flashlight mode she looks almost like she is 8 feet tall. Now her skin colour is a soft natural colour and apart from a few scars and freckles here and there it is almost flawless. She is carrying around about hundred pounds of body weight and is slightly toned, in Zig’s eyes she could be a little lighter and a little more toned. She didn’t like the gym cause the gym means sweat and her sweat can sometimes be a little luminous, slightly embarrassing. She wears a lot of bright colours, lots of white and lots of light pink. Maybe if she wears light colours her skin luminous skin won’t be so noticeably when she has her moments of lack self-control, she is still learning after all.
Her fingers and hands are long and thin sometimes she has been told they almost look skeletal. Her fingernails are long and almost all the time manicured and covered in black polish. She never bit her nails she would rather kiss a toilet seat then bite her fingernails. Do you know how many germs are under your fingernails? Yuck. She has to have her fingernails painted all the time to cover up the fact that they glow all the time, she hasn’t quite figured out how to turn it off yet, that’s if she can at all. All in all she has a pretty, soft and friendly face. Her body is slim and under toned and her limbs are a little freaky looking, she isn’t sure if that is because of her biolumo or if she is just made wrong.
Personality: Ziggy is friendly to a point, she will say hello how do you do? But she won’t hang around long enough to get to know your how life story. The less she has to know about others the better. She doesn’t like the idea of getting close to anyone as once they know all about her they just don’t want to be around that. She never had friends growing up so she is used to being alone. She can be very courageous at times. She is always compelled to help those in need, which in turn usually gets her into trouble or danger herself. She can be really clumsy. She loves the darkness, she feels totally at peace in the pitch blackness. It’s only her annoying glow that ruins her alone time. She takes everything as it comes. She looks as though she is dealing with every situation but she is most defiantly a bottler. One day she is going to explode all over the place.
Ziggy is a planner, she has to have a quick run-down in her head of how her day is going to go. She doesn’t like jumping into the unknown, it freaks her out. If things don’t go the way they were planned, strange things happen to Ziggy. Paranoia play a big part in her life. She doesn’t much like change, it screw with her mind all thought is lost and self control is at its lowest point. Things must run smoothly.

History
Ziggy was born into a family of pride and respect, nothing unusual happened in the Mistral household. Suzanne and Heath were so happy and felt so blessed when little Ziggy came along as they had tried to conceive a baby for many years. They were both getting on in years and it was starting to get to the point where they were going to have to accept the fact that they might not be able to have a baby at all. It was hard for Ziggy’s father to accept this as she dreamed so much for a son to carry on the Mistral name. So when the doctor confirmed that Suzie was pregnant was the happiest day of his life. Suzie and Heath were unable to find out what the sex was of their baby as Zig was a little shy and they just couldn’t see what was between her legs.
Everyday Heath prayed for boy, he knew that this baby was a miracle and the chances of falling pregnant again were very slim. All he wanted was a dashing, strong son to carry on his name and bring pride and honour to his family. The day Suzie went into labour was the most intense day of Heath’s life. When Miss Zig made her entrance her father was devastated that his baby was a little girl. His hopes where so high that he was getting a son at the sight of a girl crushed his heart. He loved his child be he just couldn't get past the fact that his name would end with him. Heath was a disappointment in his own father’s eyes. He tried to impregnate his wife again after Ziggy was born but she just wasn't conceiving again.
As the years when by Ziggy grew bigger and her father hated her a little bit more every year. She was treated like crap and flogged at every turn. Her mother at first stood up for her daughter but that in turn caused her to receive a flogging as well. In the end her mother started to dislike her daughter as well. Ziggy loved her mother and her father and she just couldn’t understand why her father loved hurting her so much. Sometimes her father would beat her for no reason at all. As Ziggy reached school her hands where quite strange, everything else was normal but her hands looked skeletal. This in turn freaked a lot of kids out which cause them to be mean and violent. So not only was she coping it at home she was coping it at school too. Ziggy receded further into her hole.
Child protective services were called out to Ziggy’s house on a couple of different occasions both times her father explained that the bruises and cuts on Ziggy’s legs and arms where from her clumsy nature and the torment she received at school from her peers. Ziggy’s mother agreed with her husband as she feared if she spoke out she would receive what her daughter did. Her mother was a frail little woman that didn’t stand a chance against her husband. She would never dream of leaving her husband as he would find her and he would hurt her bad. Her mother shivered at the thought of such a thing. What her father said to CP was true well a half-truth. The kids did pick on her violently. The children’s parents were called regarding the bullying but it didn’t stop them they were still freaked out by Ziggy.
On her 15th birthday, 2/7/2013. she was alone in her room sitting on her bed in the darkness before the sun came up. She loved being in the darkness, the silence. She had her eyes closed thinking about her life and her scars. She hated her life, people were just so nasty to her. Her thoughts and emotions ran crazing in her mind, she screw her face up and squeezed her favourite bear henry. After a moment or two her flew open her eyes to find her in a brightly lit room. Confused at why her light was on she got to her feet and approached the light switch only to find it was still off and that the light was coming from her, from her very skin. Frightened she stumbled backwards and hit the wall. Her fingernail were even glowing, her fingers looked even freakier than normal.
Ziggy told her mother a few days later (2/11/2013) that she could do something amazing. Her mother was different person to her daughter when her father wasn't around. She was nice and caring and when Ziggy told her that she would do something special she was interested to see. After seeing what Zig could do she was frightened by her daughter and locked her in her room till her father got home. Heath demanded to see her so called glow. Ziggy didn’t hide the fact she could illuminate a room without the use of electricity. Confused and frightened by what his friends and family would think about him if they found out his daughter was a freak, they went to the city and spoke with a doctor there that very same day. Ziggy showed the doctor and he smiled at her. He told her parents that he would run a blood test and get into contact with an associate of his. She did indeed carry the Meta-gene and within a few days around the 2/16/2013 a man was knocking at her front door.
This man was strange but she felt drawn to him she felt safe with him in her home. He explained to her mother that he was from a place where people like Ziggy could be safe and learn more about their abilities and with her parents’ permission he wanted to recruit her. He wanted her to come to the safe place. Her mother agreed almost instantly and at first Ziggy felt scared and anxious but it didn’t take the strange man to reassure her that this would for the best and she would never be bullied again. They waited for Ziggy’s father to get home and told him of what was happening. Her father took it better then she feared he was going to. He merely grunted her and her mother and went outside to the garden shed. Within nine days of discovering her abnormal glow she was heading for a different life a better life at Hammel Institute.
Ziggy’s glow freaked her out but she was glad to know there was a reason she was treated so badly by everyone she knew. She was strange and different and everyone fear her. These days she spends her day learning more about her ability and how to control it. Like public school she didn't have any friends but at least she wasn't being teased or abused. She could breathe easy knowing she wasn’t going to be flogged in the back of the head with a rock when she stepped out her door. People waved and smiled at her as she walked past. She was home but she was still scared of the world.
Roleplay Example
As Kira lowered herself down to be at the same eye level with the fey on the ground, she could feel that this gesture had frightened the girl. For what reason she didn’t know, so instead of standing back up she just moved back a little bit just so she wasn’t so close to her. Kira gave her name and waited for the girl to return the favour, but she opened her mouth nothing came out. Did this girl not have a voice? Did she not speak? Kira was a little confused but remembered that changelings sometimes don’t like to speak after they are turned and after a while they just stop talking all together that could be the case here. Kira started to feel as though she shouldn’t have stopped, perhaps she should have kept on walking. It was a little rude of her to just stop and assume conversation out of this strange fey. Kira had decided the other day she was going to be nicer to people from now on, but not to nice of course.
Soon enough the fey in front of her spoke her name, in the softest voice possible, she mustn’t of spoken in a long time, she watched as she lifted her hand to her own throat as it much have been hurting her from speaking. That’s silly, why people would stop talking all together knowing that one day you would have to open your mouth and say something, it was just unnecessary pain on her part. Oh well everyone to her own, she figured. Kira didn’t say anything to the girl as the way she spoke had kind of thrown her off what she had in mind for a good conversation. Now it was gone and she looked like a little lost puppy just crouching there with nothing to say and just a blank stare. Now she started to feel like she was the one that should be frightened. Come on snap out of it, Kira. No one ever makes her speechless this was a first for her. Soon the problem of not have something to talk about was over as it was Faylinn that spoke.
She didn’t know that Kira was a Faery! How long had this girl being Fey-kind? Sure she should be able to smell the distinct smell that all faeries carry? Kira was so thrown back by the question she wasn’t even sure how to answer it. How should she word such an answer? “Um, if you mean what I think you mean then I’m going to say Faery” she said she said what she said because she wasn’t sure if that is what she meant. But what else could she had meant? It was quite obvious that she was a girl so Faylinn couldn’t have been confused on that. All this thinking was giving her a headache and she didn’t want to be thinking about it anymore. She looked back to Faylinn just waiting for a response from her. How would she take it? Would she be annoyed that she couldn’t pick up her scent?
