General Appearance:
Dennis is tall, with long limbs and a reed-like build. The first thing that pops out is usually the canvas of tattoos across his body, which his grandparents are none too happy about – not that that would stop him: he has plans for more on the way. There are flowers, skulls, crosses (upright and otherwise, and one just under his left eye) birds, diamonds…they cover him from head to toe, down both arms, his chest, and his calves. He wears clothes that one might find in a bargain bin at or Target - presentable, but thrifty - though sometimes he may splurge and buy himself a leather jacket. Dennis likes to think it reveals something about his aesthetic. All of this culminates into what most people would consider ‘modern’ at best and ‘unseemly’ at worst.
Though Dennis is starting to outgrow his baby face, the tender age of sixteen still leaves room for smooth, round cheeks, despite the outstanding cheekbones and the angular chin. His hair is a jet-black color; he keeps the bangs long and the back buzzed around his ears; his brows are dark and expressive against his pale skin. Dennis has heard many comments about his blue, blue eyes, rimmed with dark lashes.
Since Dennis works out from time to time, he’s not all skin and bones, either. There are traces of lean muscle in his arms and his stomach, which he takes great pride in. For the most part, though, people would usually associate him as being thin, but tall, and, of course, quite beautiful.
Personality:
Like the fire he summons, Dennis is bold and energetic. He is often reckless and appears completely blindsided by whatever consequences come his way. He is not outright malicious, but he is so careless, and so cathartic, that he may end up scorching anyone in his path by sheer proximity. Dennis has the potential to be temperamental, though usually his moods do not last long, and he is as easily placated as he is provoked.
He is an optimist by nature, despite first impressions, and even innocent, in a sense. His exposure to Pilot Ridge’s more urban environment has awoken a wild side that hadn’t fully blossomed in his early years, resulting in several tattoos and nights out partying in succession. He has become quite social: he attracts people, not only for his looks, but for his genuine nature. Life on a remote diary farm has made him a relatively simple person, without the trappings of a more complicated social code, and most people can sense that he is open and willing to engage.
This is usually the only facet of his personality that indicates his country life, however. Most would be surprised to learn of his modest childhood: he never seems to run out of energy, his voice is loud, and his keen street sense seems indicative of someone who has lived in a city for many years. Everything seems to move quickly for Dennis: feelings, ideals, and relationships are subject to change. He experiences little regret from it, since he feels that a good friend should be able to keep up or be left in the dust.
Despite his brashness, there is evidence of some compassion in Dennis (though it may just be his experience as a ranch-hand). It is Dennis’s passion to become a vet. He has a love for all things four-legged and fuzzy. Because of this,he is also eager to train his powers, lest he accidentally harm them. He’s already tried several times to bring cats and dogs into his dorm (three times, by official count) and has suffered a few detentions and lectures.Your VicesLikes:

Any Other Important People:--HistoryBorn to two teenage parents, Dennis lived a fairly hectic life as a young child. His mother was in no shape or form to be a mother, and the same applied to his father. Dennis was an unforeseen consequence and despite their efforts (or lack thereof) they simply had no business raising a child. His father was mostly absent and still lived with his parents; his mother had work, and a drug habit to feed, and Dennis was regularly left to his devices or under the care of one of his mother’s (equally unfit) friends. By the time he was six his father was in jail for theft and by the time he was seven, Child Protective Services intervened.
So Dennis was sent to live with his mother’s parents, who were both nearing their late forties. She had come from the middle of Arkansas, on a diary farm, and had not come back in some time. It was the first time Dennis had ever seen his grandparents. He found a sense of peace and a refuge in that quiet town, the isolated farmhouse, the vast expanse of open plain. After that, Dennis’s life improved remarkably. His grandparents were simple, soft-spoken people; he learned to care for the animals, which numbered in the dozens: cattle, horses, chickens and the more commonplace cats and dogs.
None of them expected for a fourteen year old Dennis to gain meta powers. His grandparents had heard of such things in the news and in the papers, but imagine their surprise to find their grandson tossing fire in the middle of their peaceful country ranch. They were alarmed, and somewhat concerned, and for a day or three they fretted over who they needed to contact and what must be done until the Hammel Institute came calling. Dennis and his family were very accommodating. They hoped he would learn not to burn the house down at the school – and at least he wouldn’t have to drive an hour to get to his current one anymore.
His new urban environment inspired a new side of Dennis. He still hasn’t forgotten his roots, but he’s certainly grown more wild than he ever would have been back at the farm. His tattoos come as a result of connections made in Pilot Ridge, friends in the business who were willing to give him some ink off the clock (provided he paid).Roleplay ExampleOh hi, MarkWhat About You?Name: Day
