Any Piercings? Two lobe piercings in each ear
Any Tattoos? Three small birds flying to freedom on her right upper back.
Any Scars? Cassie has quite a few faint scars, nothing large or serious; she picked them through many years of not being able to fully control her ability. Often banging into walls and not fully phasing through obstacles.
General Appearance:
Cassie takes prides in her appearance, she loves to wear skirts and dresses and her wardrobe is as light and colourful as her personality; She loves to wear slim summer dresses and takes satisfaction in the hard work she puts in to keep her petite frame, she never used to set time aside in the late evenings to excersise but since training her power, having Willow and finishing medical school it gives her an uplifting feeling to have control over an aspect of her life.
Cassie is a working single mother so you won’t really catch her in full head to toe ‘going out’ gear, she likes to keep her looks simple and elegant; a touch of light peach eyeshadow and a thin line of liner to bring out the clear, crystallized blue of her eyes or if she is feeling confidently perky a rich, luscious red to compliment her fierce and fiery hair.
Personality:
Cassandra tries to get along with everybody and she is a very patient person that believes with the right encouragement anybody can achieve anything, what she cannot stand though is people who do not try and instead give up before really getting started. She is a kind and gentle person at heart, she is quite confidant in herself and believes in a can do attitude, she has never really been in a fight and wouldn’t dream of using violence, she often fires out terrible jokes that don’t necessarily deserve a laugh and she chooses to spar with sarcasm instead, she is always cracking some less than truly witty comeback, she has used humour as a defence mechanism for many years and she does it out of habit now not really meaning to though she doesn’t mean to offend anyone sometimes a slip of the tongue does happen.
Cassie has quite an inquiring mentality and constantly loves a new challenge no matter what it may be, she never really gives herself much time off to put her feet up, snuggle into pajamas and binge watch TV shows but if she is feeling particularly exhausted or when she is feeling unwell no ice-cream in the house is safe from her and Willow.Your VicesLikes:

Strengths:
Cassandra is very good at staying calm and not letting her anger overwhelm her.
She would do anything and everything for someone she considered a friend.
She is very confidant and hardly ever shy which sometimes leads to new and exciting prospects.
Weaknesses:
Cassie does sometimes inadvertently offend people, though hardly ever on purpose.
She finds it hard to tolerate lazy people who are not willing to cooperate with her.
Cassie isn’t so great dating anymore, it has been a while for her as she has never found the time.
When shopping her true weakness is a cute new outfit though, there is never anything wrong with looking good whilst you work.
She does tend to over use her ability sometimes, taking the easy way around things instead of faffing for keys or if she is late the it is easier to walk through walls go through a multitude of corridors.
Fears:
Cassie is terrified of her tremors, she is worried that one day they will get out of hand and that something might happen to her or Willow, every time she has a bad round of spasms she is scared, not being able to control herself.
Cassie is afraid of wasps, she knows that it is an irrational fear yet she won’t go anywhere near them and freezes if they go near her.

Cassandra still keeps her engagement ring on a necklace in her bedroom side table, sometimes when she has put Willow to sleep she takes it out of the draw and stares at it for a few minutes wondering what it would have been like if Mark would have stayed.Family TiesFather:

History
Cassandra is the third of four children, they have lived in Vermont all of their lives, when Cassie was a child all she dreamed of was leaving and traveling the world studying in different countries and soaking up as much knowledge as she could. She led a pretty normal childhood, she had close friends and she did well in school, she used to play with her brothers in the back garden whilst her sister was at dance class; she looked forward to when Amelia came home though because after a while with Richard and William they ended up playing ‘who could catch and pin Cassie to the ground’ which wasn’t so fun as Richard was five years older than her. Her mother stayed at home most days but had shifts at a café on the weekends and her father, Daniel, used to work a lot and be home late so she only saw him at bed time and at weekends but she didn’t mind as there was always someone around. Cassie had always wanted to grow up to be like her dad ever since she was a toddler and loved it when she had a rare Sunday alone with him in his office where he would let her help him.
When Cassie was thirteen she started having random headaches, she didn’t think too much of it and just popped some pain killers, a couple of days after and the headaches hadn’t let up she went to her dad about it, he didn’t seem too worried after examining her but told her if anything else happened then to tell him immediately. Cassie was out in the back garden with Richard messing around and tackling each other, he went grab her and she tried to dodge but knew it was too late, a strange sensation tingled under her skin and as she braced herself his hand went straight through her, they both stopped and stared at each other, Cassie let out a half wail half scream, Richard then shot out his hand; Cassie closed her eyes her heart pounding waiting for the impact of his fist as she flinched but there was nothing just that tingle again, she opened her eyes, adrenaline pumping and stared down, his arm going through her chest and throat, she jumped back out of his reach and started patting herself, her hands were shaking and she felt sick and dizzy. Cassie slowly sat down on the grass, her head in her hands as she tried to slow her heart rate and stop herself from shaking, she looked up at Richard who had sat next t her, he reached out, hesitated then put his hand on her knee, Cassie let out a small sigh of relief; at least it wasn’t permanent. After she had stopped shaking and the throbbing pain at the back of her neck had lessoned she stood up and marched into her fathers office with her big brother hot on her heels, she stopped in front of her dad and blurted out what had happened, “I don’t know how it happened, Richard and I were playing and then suddenly… WHUMPH! His hand has gone right through!” Richard started nodding emphatically as he stood next to me “It’s true, look.” he said as he swung around clenched first hurtling towards Cassie’s face, she froze waiting for that weird feeling, her heart beating in through chest when she felt it…
Cassandra opened her eyes, but everything was blurred, she could taste metal and there was a thundering in her ears that shot up into head, she winced in pain as her nose and cheek bone throbbed relentlessly, she slowly sat up on the couch and picked up the bag of ice which was lying on the coffee table in front of her “lets not try that again” Cassie looked at her Older brother trying to give him a half smile that turned into a grimace as her swollen cheek protested at the movement. She looked up searching for her father, she turned around and saw him whispering into his phone, she couldn’t really make out what he was saying but she was pretty sure that she heard the words manifest and passed on, she turned back round clutching the bag of ice to her face.
A couple of days later a stranger came to the house, he told her that she was special and that it was a nessecity that Cassandra came with him and that everything would be explained in detail once she was taken to a school up in the mountains of Vermont. Once they at the school the man explained what was happening to her and she had a few blood samples taken; and that is how she came to The Hammel Institute.
Cassandra was taught how to control and use her ability which she found out was called phasing; it was incredibly difficult at first, her ability seemed to turn on and off when it pleased and even after a couple of years she was still getting cut and bruised, she sometimes found herself waking up underneath her bed at night instead of in it but the more she focused on what made her ability manifest the more she began to understand the trigger, after a few years she finally felt in control of herself.
She was seventeen years old when the tremors started at first her hands would just shake a little like they used to when she used her ability quite frequently but it started to get worse, her hands started to randomly shake even when she didn’t phase, as with most of her problems she pushed it to the back of her mind until one night after hitting a hard training session she got back to her dorm to take a shower; as she stepped into the cubical her hands slightly twitching as she turned the handle to turn on the warm water her whole body suddenly convulsed and she slipped onto the hard tile floor, the spasms did not let up though as she huddled in the corner and tried to wrap her arms around her legs, after that incident it got progressively worse, it started with a headache on most occasions and then small shakes until Cassie could hardly move.
Since her trip to the doctors she was put on Beta Blockers and told that it was Generalised Dystonia which had manifested as a result of her ability, she was told that even if she stopped using her power that the symptoms would not go away, the medication did seem to help, but she had to be constantly very aware of when to take them and if she did not it could have disastrous effects. She began to get back to her normal routine and still worked hard on expanding and controlling her ability along with working towards her career after graduating from Hammel.
Cassandra met Mark when she was visiting a medical school that she was hopefully going to attend the next year. He offered to show her around the facilities and they made small talk, they later went for lunch at a café close by and it spiraled from there. They stayed up into the early mornings almost every other night talking over the phone about his essays and her career ambitions, as they bonded closer together their relationship got more serious and they starting dating and going out. She opened up to him about who and what she was, her fears and accomplishments and readily accepted her for who she was.
Cassandra got accepted into the school and started living with Mark, their relationship progressed quickly and just after their first anniversary he proposed. Five months later Cassie found out that she was pregnant and that night she gave the news to Mark, he was shocked and a bit distant but after a couple of days they slipped into their old rhythm and talked it out; they decided that they were going to have the child. The first four months was chaotic as Mark graduated medical school and started to look for residency programmes close to home and the thought of becoming a father was becoming more real every week, he was also beginning to lose hope of fulfilling his career ambitions; though he kept his thoughts to himself not wanting to bring an more problems into light. That was when he got a phone call; it was from a hospital in Texas that he had contacted a while ago to say that he had been accepted to start his internship in three months time. He did not tell Cassie right away instead he told no one for two weeks going over and over the decision in his mind. The night of their two year anniversary Mark Sat Cassie down and told her about his opportunity in Texas; he had made the decision to take the residency and told her he was flying out in a months time. Mark apologized to Cassie all night and slept on the couch to sound of her muffled cries leaking out from the bedroom, he knew that he was being selfish but the dawning realization that the feeling in the pit of his stomach that had been creeping up on him for the last few months was that he felt trapped.
For that last month they hardly spoke; he slept on the couch every night and Cassie stayed in the bedroom, the night before Mark left Cassie came into the living room and told him that she understood why he was leaving, she did not forgive him but she did understand. Mark left for Texas and the only time they spoke was when he asked her how everything was going, Cassandra did not want to forgive him and even though she hated herself for letting him creep back into her life as the months passed her pain lessoned they eventually started talking again.
Mark flew back to Vermont a couple of days before Willows birth and stayed for a few months afterwards. Cassandra and Mark still keep in contact though their relationship is now just that of friends and he often comes to see his daughter, it took them a long time to get into the rhythm that they are in now but everything is stable.
Cassie is currently in her last year of residency in a hospital in Vermont and when she gets her doctorate she wants to work at Hammel Institute as a teacher so that she can help others the way the School helped her.
SheRoleplay Example
Amara doesn’t remember much about that night but what she does know scarred her for life. She remembered that she woke up to the sound of Jeremy’s crying. Walking into the hallway and passing her older brothers room, she stood in the doorway in puzzlement, she saw the back of her father holding Jeremy, her fathers head was slightly turned to her; it was the first time she had ever seen her father so overwhelmed with emotion, she remembers clearly anger, rage, grief and fear all flickered across his face. She followed his gaze and took in a breath, she heard a gut-wrenching scream but it seemed distant; in the back of her mind she knew that it was her own, her line of sight became blurry as tears threatened to spill down her soft cheeks, the picture of her mother half hanging over the bed, her body and head shrunken, shriveled and deformed burned into her memory, she looked down after what seemed like an eternity and blinked away the tears, she could still see her mother and the blood that had started to congeal on the bed sheets where something had sucked out the fluids from her brain.
Amara fell to the ground as all her energy was drained, she couldn’t move, all she could do was stare at the bloody stain in the carpet. She felt movement around her, distant voices shouting incomprehensibly to one another, she felt the floor disappear beneath her but she didn’t care, she saw her mother’s body be covered up in a blanket and picked up by her father.
Amara felt the wind softly brushing at her bare feet, the sound of her oldest brothers voice slowly floated back to her, they were half hushed, half sobbing words of comfort, but they were lost on her, she couldn’t feel anything, she was numb and devoid of emotion.
She was sat on the grass staring at the ground where her father was relentlessly digging, her brothers next to her huddled and cried, she remembered her father silently shedding tears as her brothers openly sobbed, she knew he was trying to be strong and keep it together as he buried his wife in the front garden. Amara felt oddly detached, her mother shouldn’t be remembered this way, being buried like a family pet.
