Goldielocks and Prince Charming {Salem}

Kailin, being absolutely bored out of her wits and done with her homework and chores, decided that in that moment she would find her phone and nudge her Prince Charming on the phone for some interesting conversation. Every since she had met him, Kailin had absolute adored the blonde; so much so that she sometimes referred to him as her brother because, after all, he did look a decent bit like her. But it was funny, because none of her brothers were blonde and none of her brothers were as adorable as Salem was. 

Hey, you lovely individual. Care to have a chat with little boring me? xP

She pressed send and fell back on her bed, staring at the ceiling above her. Kales had missed Salem since it seemed they rarely spoke anymore, and she really just wanted a moment to talk with him. Maybe she would invite him over or something? That sounded fun... but well, first he had to reply.

Salem had been putting off his math homework for some time now. His guitar in his lap, he happily strummed the strings and ignore the rest of the world. His mind drifted to his friends as he played. Somewhere he heard George yelling at a video game and it made him smile. Even though he liked his solidarity, he also liked knowing his friends were close. Well, except Goldielocks. Kailin was possibly the sweetest person Salem had ever met, and he adored her for that. She was so genuine and caring, always checking up on him. Well, when she had the time. A little laugh escaped him as he thought of the times they would go out and people would ask if they were related. His thoughts were broken by a soft noise. Wrinkling his nose he listened, it was his phone and the sound of the theme from "Ponyo" let him know it was Kales sending a text. Grabbing his phone, and his glasses, he read the text.

Of course I've got time to chat with my fav lady ever! Sup Goldielocks? 

He smirked at his little nickname for her and snuggled in as he waited. Though, he was sure like most girls, her response would be fast.

He was quick, and she was pleasantly surprised by that fact, and so she read the message just as quickly. An amused smile tugged at the corners of her mouth as she thought of something to say. Really, what did she want? She just wanted a basic conversation, something to hold her attention! Of course, she knew that Salem could provide that, hence why Kailin texted him instead of anybody else.

If we are going to start with nicknames, I hope you don't mind I'm going to use yours, Prince Charming ;D I'm bored, and I need a handsome man like you to take my mind off of the boredom.

Kailin giggled to herself, knowing that he would probably blush profusely at that comment, and waited to see his response. Already, Kailin was amused. It was great.

The phone buzzed and he smiled. Focusing on the words, as his glasses slid down his nose slightly. Salem giggled softly and wondered if she really did think of him as a Prince Charming. He was nothing of the sort, always clumsy and saying the wrong things. Nothing about him was Prince like or remotely charming, at least to him. Then the other word caught his eye, "handsome". A deep crimson color spread to his cheeks and he was happy she wasn't around to see it. Kales did so love making him blush.
Shaking his head he typed his response.

Always at your service m'lady. So how can I help? I mean besides the obvious chatting. We could play a game? 

Salem was of course, trying to entertain his sweet friend and at the same time procrastinate even more from his homework. Kales was a valid excuse not to do it. He chuckled and wondered if she would get onto him for not doing it yet.

Game. What game could they play? Blind I-spy? Words with friends? Candy crush? God, she hated candy crush with a passion. It took up time that she could have been studying and getting her work done, but no, it was addicting. Same thing with Cafe-world, or it's equivalent on the app store. Hours of waiting but so much fun

What kind of game did you have in mind?

Of course she didn't know what else to ask in that moment, and she had no real offers on the table, so he would have to make up for her lack of ideas. After all, he usually had plenty of them.

Great, now Kales actually did want to play a game. Not that he wasn't totally fine with that, he just had to think of something, and quick. He was terrible at that word game, Angry Birds was just for one and he didn't have much else on his phone. Now he had to think and the only thing that crept into his brain was "20 Questions". A simple game where one person thought up a person, place or thing and the other person had 20 yes or no question to figure it out. 

Um......howz bout 20 Questions? Be easiest I think...

Salem rubbed his face and looked out the window as he waited, thinking of his first thing so if she said yes, he would be ready.

She hoped he chose something good, because she was B.O.R.E.D. and really, she had nothing better with her time. Games were fun, after all. She would prank JJ or even offer to play some sort of game with them, but she knew they should be doing their work, too, and she didn't want to take their attention away from it even though they probably wanted her to.

20 Questions? Seriously Salem, that's the best you got? Okay, fine. You start

She leaned back, holding the phone in one hand and a stuffed bear in the other. This would be interesting.

Salem adjusted the glasses on his face as he stared at his phone. Waiting. He didn't wait long before he felt the little buzz of a text message. Letting his eyes fix on the screen, he rolled his eyes. What did Kales expect? Shakespeare or Einstein? The thought of himself with Albert Einstein's hair made him laugh very loudly, then turn his attention back to the phone. He knew she didn't mean anything by it, she was just teasing. Even through text he knew that.

Hey, it was the best I could think of on short notice. LOL. So me first huh? K.

His texting paused for a moment as he thought. Then a thought popped in his head, something slightly underhanded, but that was half the fun of the game.

Alright I got it. You get 20 questions to guess what I'm thinking. I'll give you three hints if you need them, but one extra for free. It's a person. Now let the games begin.

He hit send, then instantly had to send another text.

Kailin rolled her eyes as he tried to explain the game she practically invented to her. She used to play this all the time -and cheat- with her younger and elder siblings. But then again, her elder siblings still always managed to get it somehow or another. She spent hours with Devlin just going back and forth, begging him to play with her.

Awesome, okay. Hmmm... Do I know this person?

First question down, and while it was relatively broad because she knew quite a few people, she could probably narrow it down to who she would think Salem would hang out with. She hit send.

"This should prove interesting."  He thought with a smirk as he waited for her reply. Not long to go before the buzz shook his hand and he smiled wider. He had hoped she was going to ask if she knew the person, because...well she didn't. This thought made him chuckle and he typed a quick response. 

Nope, not in the slightest. But that does remind me to tell you something...about someone you may know....

His ears turned a light shade of pink as he thought about this person, then shook his head. Least any of his roomies walked in his open door. Well, unlocked.

So she didn't know this person? That was a bit of a shocker, but she could handle that. Kales had to seriously think about the next question, because if she didn't know them, she couldn't start singling them out. Maybe asking...

Does he/she go to hammel?

This was a start, and she was confident by the end of the game she would have won, because this was Kailin, and she always did. Talk about self-confidence.

Another smile spread to his lips as he got his response. There was no way she was going to guess this, so he decided to have a little fun with his answers. Of course, he planned on telling her his other little bit of news along with each answer, mostly because he thought it would be fun. 

Hmm...that's a tough one...I want to say maybe, but I'm pretty sure the answer is no. 

Salem had not sent the message yet, he was trying to figure out the best way to tell her something. Something he hadn't even told Anthony yet. Wrinkling his nose in thought, he started to type again. 

oh, yeah....the thing i wanted to tell you....I have a crush on someone....  ...and um...Anthony doesn't even know this yet.

He knew this was a bit of a cheeky move, but it was also something true. The blonde boy did have a small crush on someone and he figured this would be a good time to tell his sister/friend.

Kailin's lips pursed at his vague answer, and was about to text back something along the lines of 'You can't answer like that!' even though she knew he could. Instead, a second text came in and instantly the game was forgotten. Salem had a CRUSH?! Immediately, she started typing her response as quickly as she could manage.

AND WHY HAVEN'T YOU TOLD ME SOONER? WHO IS IT?!

The shy bum that was Salem Hirch finally had a crush on someone! Was he cute? Or was he smart and regal? Was he perfect for Salem? All these questions she had in her mind, and not enough time to ask.

"Answer, you butt. I want to know!"

Okay, so he had lied a little to her. It was more than a crush, things had already happened between them. Things that he wasn't ready to share, just yet anyway. Not that he didn't think she could handle it or would mind, but it was very personal. Even alone, he blushed deeply thinking about what had happened after leaving the pool the other day. It seemed like it could have been a dream. Salem's thoughts were interrupted by his phone and Kales text that now popped on the screen. "Well, 20 questions is out the window.." He chuckled and typed back quickly. 

I'm not really sure if you know him or not...but you gotta promise not to judge okay?

Okay, so Carter had a bit or a reputation to his name, but Salem knew better. There was no way he could be like that. Right? Salem's finger drifted over the send button and he stopped. A guilty feeling rose in his stomach and he frowned. Months back something had happened to Salem, something great that he never told her. Never told anyone really, except a little notebook under his mattress. With a sigh, he decide to add to the text before he sent.

Also, I had my first kiss......

He hoped she could almost hear his shifty eyes.

So the time waiting for Salem's answer wasn't the longest, but it felt like a freaking eternity and then some. Kailin shifted uncomfortably, repeatedly locking and unlocking her phone until she saw his name pop up. She squealed, sliding her index finger across the screen to open up the message, and was immediately disappointed when she read it.

YES OKAY OKAY. Tell me already D:

She hadn't noticed that he had texted again until she unlocked her phone and unlocked it again, looking for his response to her question. This time, Kailin covered her mouth. Was it with the same crush? Or was it like, before then?

If this didn't happen with said crush, i'm going to be so hurt, Charming When?
