"You could still go," Tak mentioned with a small shrug. "I only went to community college for a couple of years. It's not as expensive as a University, and there are people of all ages that attend classes there." Of course, it still cost a lot of money, and one couldn't make a person go if they had no drive. "I could help you," she said, more softly. "If... It's something you ever want to do. Opening a business. I know a bit how it works now."
She reached across the table and laid her hand over Oriel's, giving it a supporting squeeze. "If you ever want to talk about... You know... I'm a very good listener." Tak just knew it would take a lot to get him to open up. Tak didn't want him to try to hide things from her, no matter how hard they would be to hear. It wasn't fair for him to have to keep it all locked up. Inside, deep down, Tak felt like he was still a sad, lonely boy, just wanting someone in the world to love him and for him to love back.
And he'd lost that....
Tak went back to finishing her food after she gave her offer. She really did hope something like that would at least make him a little happier. Or, at least, a little less.... Apathetic. When he pressured her into being more clear about what she wanted, Tak cleared her throat and managed to sit up a little straighter. "I can't think of anyone better," she told him slowly, formulating her reasons. "We already have a connection. I know your.... History of abandonment would make you more loyal than probably anyone else I could pick." Tak smiled. "It would be beautiful, between you and me." She looked up at him. "And maybe... Maybe a child could help you too, Oriel. I could take care of it mostly on my own. I have the stability. And I... I want to raise a child." Tak took her last couple bites and stood, brushing her hand against the table as she went to stand beside Oriel. "And I still trust you," she said quietly, lifting her hand to gently brush against the man's jaw.
