Time Warp: so a red head and a brunette....(george)

Her feet barely brushed the ground in her new desk. Axelle frowned in concentration as she wrote her answers out on her paper. She had to be extra careful because even though they'd ordered special pens and pencils for her they hadn't come in yet because of some ordering mix up. She'd snapped eleven pencils today alone. She was starting to lose her patience.

As she held her tongue between her teeth her concentration on her pencil slipped to her problem and SNAP that made twelve. She heard some snickering and glared at some of the students behind her, who quickly shut up when faced with the wrath of the super strong...short person. Axelle looked over to the girl next to her and whispered "Hi! I'm Axelle, can I borrow a pen or something?" she whispered.

Uuuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh leeessssooooonnnnnsssssssss nooooooo~

This was just one example of what what running through George's mind as she sat, oddly quiet for once, because all of the noise was going on in her head. The sounds of cogs whirring, her brain ticking over and the almost constant grunts, growls and other such noises of annoyance that would be being made through the medium of her throat and mouth, but since she had the competence today to hold it in, she did.

A snap brought her to something interesting. The red-headed girl next to her, and the murder of her poor pencil. Dang girl, she was stressed out. And angry at the dweebs behind her. Well, George would be too. Oh wait, she was being spoken to. Hah, woops. The brunette adjusted her beanie with a friendly smirk, "Yeah, sure." She replied quietly. She opened up and dug into her pencil case, pulling out a spare pen of her's and handed it over (she didn't have to check if it was working - she never used it, it was practically brand new), "I'm George. Your name's awesome, by the way." She introduced herself, and smiled. Axelle was so much cooler than Georgina.

As a name. George was totally the coolest cat around, hells yeah.

Axelle smiled with a blush, happy that she had met someone so nice! "George is a cool name too, and thanks!" she said as she went back to her paper and started trying to write with the pen. At first the ink didn't want to come out though so she carefully tried to scribble with it a bit to get the ink to flow, but with no luck. So Axelle pressed a little harder and scribbled; still no luck. She thought about asking for another pen but also thought that might be rude since she had asked to borrow one in the first place and decided to try one more time before giving up.

Except this time she pressed too hard and the entire pen shattered under the force of her grip, splattering black ink everywhere. Her desk, paper and shirt were now covered in it. The thirteen-year-old gaped stupidly at the mess, not sure what she should do in the face of such an awful situation.

George grinned but shook her head, “It’s really not.” She muttered. Apparently her actual name, Georgina, was less common in America than it was in England, but it was still pedantic and boring and stupid. Like this lesson. UGGGH.

She didn’t notice her classmate’s battle royale with the borrowed pen until the scribbling became more violent. The British girl rose an eyebrow and considered asking if she wanted to swap pens, but man, that girl was as determined as a marathon runner. She let it be. Until there was ink everywhere. George could have burst out laughing. She almost did. But she was better than that, that was mean, and George wasn’t mean. No, she just laughed at the occasional misfortune of others. But this… this was an opportunity that she had to grasp.

The tracker quickly stood up and grabbed the red head’s inky hand, pulling her up, “Oh no, you need to clean up!” She exclaimed loudly to the whole class. “I’ll help you. Come on, I’ll show you where the loos are.” And with that, George scooped up both of their bags and the belongings on their desks and Axelle was being dragged out of her lesson.

“Hope you weren’t actually enjoying that, because we are not going back.”

Axelle hadn't had time to be embarrassed. One moment she was dealing with a broken pen and the next she was being tugged out the door by the brunette she'd borrowed the pen from in the first place. They stood there for a moment, Axelle fidgeting before rubbing a bit of the ink into her skin nervously. "Uh, sorry I broke your pen!" she said with a healthy dose of embarrassment as the two girls looked at each other. She was embarrassed because she was covered in ink and she'd broken something that belonged to someone else. She should have stuck with pencils but she hadn't been thinking and worse, she hadn't thought about how things were different now...or rather, she'd disregarded them completely.

“So the bathroom is…?” she trailed off as she finished rubbing the ink into her skin and frowning at her arm as if it had offended her.
