Ever heard the joke about the catgirl who fell from the ceiling in a gynmasium? --No? Well that's cause it wouldn't be any kind of funny! And.. Well.. It wouldn't be. But not because of broken bones.. Nah, kitties always land on their feet. It wouldn't be funny because it was actually not that big a deal. Maybe there would be some wow factor, but other than that.. yeah, not a big deal.
Case in point: In the gym at Hammel there just so happened to be a bored catgirl.. Yes, catgirl. A girl with a tail and cat ears and slitted pupils. Because tails were good for balance, and when one was climbing walls and swinging from support beams in ceilings, balance was a good thing. Anyway, this catgirl had been bored and had been looking for something exciting to do.. When she'd found her way to the gym, her first thought had been to look for something impossible.. then do it. And so she was. Except that it hadn't been anywhere near impossible. She'd climbed some bleachers and parkoured her way up to the ceiling on a steel I-beam. Kinda trivial, really.. The only scary part had been leaping from the wall out to one of the smaller support beams that ran along the ceiling and held up the lights.. and it hadn't been that big a deal, either.
So having pulled herself up to crouch on the beam, she'd jumped to the next.. and the next.. and the next.. and was currently in the dead center of the gym. This hadn't been nearly impossible or even super difficult. Sure, the view was good, but there was like nobody else in the gym to look at, and it didn't seem like there would be anyone there any time soon.. so, really not worth sitting up here being uncomfortable for forever waiting.
And with a shrug, Kit had swung forward to end up looking like she was doing pull-ups thirty feet off the ground, then let go.... landing with a loud thud and a grunt and a nearly perfect roll right back up to her feet. She shook out her legs and rotated her shoulders before pausing and wincing... and the ears and tail faded form existence.. leaving a rather ordinary of also very, very short chick with bright red hair wincing for a moment.. Because shifting wasn't entirely pleasant.
What she didn't know was that there had been someone there.. no telling how long. He may have just appeared out of thin air now or he may have watched her the entire time.. but as she turned with a sigh and headed for the doors, she was him and nearly jumped out of her skin.. "Freakin.. Shit dude, say something! How long have you been there for, anyway?"
