Hay-lin walked onto the sand, smiling at the sound of water hitting the shore. There was just something calming about the water. Yet she was also afraid of it, thankfully this wasn’t the ocean, and it was a harmless lake. She would be fine as long as she didn’t go too deep. Considering she didn’t know how to swim, and wouldn’t be able to use her power without touching the ground, it would be extremely hard for her to get back on land, where her feet touch the ground. If her feet couldn’t/didn’t touch solid ground she did not like it, and was afraid of it. That being said, she did not like cars, trains, planes, or boats. Which was fine, since she was rarely ever in any of those things, she hardily went outside of pilot Ridge since all her friends and family lived here, there was no reason to go anywhere else. Granted she took the spring and summer off to shoot a movie, it was her first American movie, and she was quite proud to have done it.
Now being back in pilot ridge, she was back to work, working with the students at Hammel, and at her mother’s dance studio where she helped where she could. Now, in this Saturday, in this moment she just wanted to relax, without working, just relaxing. Read a book, listen to music, walk along the sand shore, and maybe walk in the water. The things people usually did while at the lake, except she wouldn’t be swimming. Instead of bringing Olive who was her guide dog, she had her walking stick, and her power to guide her. She didn’t feel like dealing with watching over someone else, and she figured the dog needed a break anyways.
Here she was near the water; she took her sandals off and walked to wear the water lapped at her feet. Gasping as she felt how cold the water was, it was an interesting sensation. Smiling though, it was nice to be at the lake again, to be somewhere where she can just relax and not have to worry about anything. These past couple of months have been stressful considering, but she was slowly getting over it.
