Hay-lin sat at the bar, there were times she came here to unwind after a long day at work. Some of her students were hard to work with, while others weren’t so much. But the ones that were would take most of her energy for the day. It was why she made a habit of coming to the bar after work, and after she went home to take a shower. No children, or teenagers, don’t get her wrong she loved both but there were times where she just wanted to be away from them. It was that one reason why she felt like she could never have a baby. She would never be able to get a break, and that was not something she wanted to give up. She was very set on just adopting or fostering teenagers the rest of her life. Hopefully her partner, if that was something in her future, would agree with her.
Tonight was a little different than other nights. Hay-lin had invited a co-worker that she had gotten to know a little at school. The girl was a bit younger than Hay-lin, and that actually made her feel old… First she dated a girl who was around ten years younger than her, maybe eight… Now she was hanging out with someone who was 23.. She really liked the younger crowd, but that was alright. Hay-lin didn’t mind, sometimes you needed to hang around younger people to feel young. It was nice though, being able to hang out with a co-worker, and make some friends.
The bartender came over, “Hey beautiful, what can I get you?” Hay-lin smirked, the compliment was nice, though coming from a bartender it wasn’t anything special. “The Nutella Cocktail, please.” The guy went away to make her drink, and she waited quietly for Morgan to arrive.
