Let the Games Begin, Part III!

Once more the locals had put together a fair to celebrate the end of summer. The weather was humid, though n occasional breeze helped alleviate this somewhat. Plenty of water bottles were provided for all, and a first aid tent was set up by the entrance in case the heat or over enthusiasm resulted in injuries.
Food stalls dotted the field surrounding the lake, courtesy of local restaurant owners and others with health department permits. Lemonade, ice cream, hot dogs, funnel cakes and turkey legs could all be had for a fee. But more important were the games and events.
Games included basketball and volleyball, target games to win cheap toys, and races from sack races to egg in spoon races. There was a hot dog eating contest and a pie baking contest and tables for local craftsmen to sell their wares. The dunking booth and kissing booth were both favorites from years past and a Ferris wheel rose up from the parking lot, towering above the rest of the event. So many members of the community had volunteered to help with this year's Field Day, and there were many prizes to be won, and a charity benefit event.
Small children weren't forgotten, either, as a bouncy castle had been rented, and go karts. There was even a petting zoo and pony rides.
All in all, it looked to be a fantastic day full of fun for everyone.
