Caricatures for Your Character (OPEN)

Ricio loved the Community Faire. Free food, everyone outside enjoying the day, not to mention free advertising for his artistic abilities. How could anyone not look forward to this all year?

Usually Ricio took a back seat to the festivities, but this year he’d managed to land a position drawing caricatures. Though it was technically free, the town was paying him a small fee to cover the cost of materials. He also had a cup sitting on his table with a sign saying “Tips Welcome!”. There was also a paper plate with a sign that stated “Will Draw for Food!”. It was mostly as a joke, though Ricio was a little worried that if he got to busy he wouldn’t be able to sample all of the treats.

He was wearing short sleeves for a change today, but mostly because he didn’t want to get the chalk pastels and charcoal he was drawing with all over sleeves. Or more importantly accidentally smudge up his artwork. He still had his coat with him, it was just slung over the back his chair at the moment. His pack was also within arms reach, hidden under his table so he could sneak smokes in between customers.

Which was what he was doing now as he grinned as those walking by his table.

Normally Henri would have avoided the Faire at all costs, it was not like him to be a social creature. Well, not without a few drinks in him. Yet, he figured he'd go check out what all the noise was and maybe even find himself a hot date, or even better....booze.

Not ten minutes in and the man was starving, like he had never eaten anything in his life. All the wonderful smells just made his stomach growl, and he just had to get as much of it as possible. This of course was a mistake. Henri never really ate much to begin with, then shoving all that food into himself, it was too much. Not that he was sick or anything, just very full. Now, he was just sort of walking around and looking at random things as he tried to find a place to sit down.

He also, still had a paper plate loaded down with pizza and fries when he noticed the little caricature table. The sign on it seemed like a joke at first, but the man there looked like he may actually be hungry. Slowly, Henri made his way over and set down, not exactly the picture of subtly. "Hey there, hope that signs right." He chuckled and set the food on the table.

"Sure is," Ricio said with a grin. He leaned over and rubbed the end of his cigarette out on his boot before sitting it on the edge of the table to save for later. Usually he wasn't so concerned with smoking in front of people, but he didn't want to deter potential customers.

Besides he was hoping to be eating some of that pizza and fries soon.

"Enjoying the fair?" Ricio asked. It was obvious by the huge smile on his face and his general demeanor that he certainly was.

"So are you looking to make a trade? I feel I have to admit that this is all technically free but tips-" he pointed to the food the man had sat down. "-are always appreciated."

For a moment he thought of stopping the other man from putting his cigarette out. Honestly, he could turn into smoke and even he himself smoked, but the other man was obviously being nice, so he decided to keep his mouth shut. Now, he gently smiled at the man and nodded.

"Yeah, I mean..it's not exactly the thing I'd normally do, but it's fun." Henri was being honest. The fair was fun, and he was enjoying himself, but normally he wouldn't do this.

"Ah. Yeah, I know this is free, but sure..I'll make a trade." The younger man actually chuckled a bit and nodded. "That and I was looking for someone to give this to. I couldn't eat another bite so honestly, you're more than welcome to it if you really want it." It was also rare that he genuinely nice to people he'd just met. Okay, sort of not true, he'd flirt..but just being nice was a whole new ballgame.

"Really?" Ricio asked, titling his head to the side. "You should get out more. Enjoy the sun. Enjoy the people. I wish the town had more of this." He gestured around him at all the wonderful fun and food. Ricio was never one to shy away from dishing out personal advice. especially when it was advice about them finding ways to enjoy themselves. He believed in others finding joy as much as freedom.

"Awesome," he said, pulling the plate of food closer to him. He grabbed the pizza with one hand and turned to a clean sheet in his sketch pad with the other. He took a few bites of his pizza, obviously enjoying it before turning his attention to the art.

"So what do you do normally...?" he asked, letting his question fade away instead of asking the other man's name. He picked up his charcoal as he waited for his answer and started sketching out the rough shape of the man's face.
