Amelia was becoming nervous as the plane came in for a landing, but it had nothing to do with the plane itself. After three years of dating Mia she was finally bringing her back to NewYork to introduce her to her parents and she was scared. She knew her dad would love Mia as much as Jason did, but it was her mom that was making her nervous. Her mom was the reason that she was just now introducing Mia to them. Even if she had brought home a girl who was exactly like her mother she would find fault in her mostly being because she was not a boy. She wondered when her mom would realise that after nine years that this wasn’t just a phase (even though Mel thought on some level her mom realise that and was holding on to a small string of hope anyway). It also didn’t help their case that Mia was into the alternative style and though Mel loved it and found it to be a turn on she knew her mom would hate it. Her mom tended to be very rude, snobby, and judgemental towards everything and everyone. She was used to it growing up with it, but she didn't want to subject Mia to that, but she couldn't keep her from her mom forever. Plus not to Mia knowledge but Amelia plan on proposing to the girl on this trip and it was important to her for her parents to at least know the girl she was about to call her wife. That was, of course, if she said yes.
Mel was kind of out of it, her thoughts consuming her that she didn't even notice the plane came to a complete stop and people were leaving out at first. She took both of their carry on out the compartment and around her neck before Mia could protest and offered her a small smiles as she took her hand as they proceed to walk off the plane and to go get their luggage not saying much to her the whole walk over. Jason, who flew out a week ago, and her mom was going to meet them outside the airport and drive them back to the house so now there was no more prolonging this meeting. Once their bags came around they would go out to see them their waiting. “I’m just warning you again my mom is probably not going to like you just because you're my girlfriend so try not and take it personal”, she said finally speaking. “There might not be much you can do about it. I think she will never be satisfied unless I’m dating a guy but eh I don’t care”. Even though, she did care. She cared a lot what her mom thought and couldn’t help hope she would prove her wrong one of these days and would see how good of a person Mia was and how much Mel was in love with her and finally get over the fact Mel was gay because at least she was happy. Yet she knew it was not going to end that way and was pretty sure it was just wishful thinking. “I just really want my dad to meet you and I know he going to love you as much as I do”. With her nervous getting to her Mel, was rambling really fast blurring threw topics without giving Mia a proper chance to respond. “Oh and my mom will probably make sly comments about your appearance. Just don’t listen to her because you know you look perfect to me so it doesn’t matter. Speaking of looking perfect do I look okay”? Mel looked down at the outfit she has put on. “I’m not sure anymore”. Mel decided to dress a little more girly today so at least that was one less thing her mom had to talk about. “You think I should of put a dress on or maybe a skirt instead? Urgh yeah I should've know this already. She still going to say something about this outfit”.
