Timewarp: A Rachel Ray and Rainbow Dash Reunion

    It had been awhile since Alex had been in Pilot Ridge and if it wasn't for the ten-year reunion it would have probably been a little longer. She occasionally did make the trip back to visit friends, but her life was now in L.A and Pilot Ridge was usually the farthest thing from her mind. Yet since she was back in town and she had brought her four-year-old daughter Jade she thought she would visit her old roommate and friend Oriel. He also had a daughter around Jade age and she thought why not setup a playdate. That way she could catch up with Oriel and Jade could make a new friend and get out the hotel room. They had first walked to a local convince store getting danishes since Alex knew that was one of his favorite snacks and Slurpees and then had walked over to Oriel and Phoenix house. 

"I want to ring the doorbell mommy," Jade said as they approached the house.  Alex smiled down at Jade and nodded. 
"Go ahead sweetheart". She let go of her mom's hand and pressed the doorbell about five times in a row. "Alright Jade I think they heard it, " Alex said chuckling. 

When the door open and she saw Oriel she couldn't help, but smile. She didn't notice how much she missed him to now. "Oh my god, Betty Crocker" she exclaimed hugging him with one arm and balancing the drinks with the other. "It's been too long".

“MOOOOMMMMYYYYY!!” A deafening cry would be heard from the other side of the door as soon as the rapid fire doorbells completed ringing. “THERE’S SOMEBODY AT THE DOOR!!”

“I know, I know, Dev, I heard it.” The older, deep yet smooth voice seemed exasperated and on the verge of a headache. “And don’t call me ‘mommy’.”

“Okay, mommy!”

Oriel sighed in frustration as he opened the door for his old roommate and friend. They’d made arrangements to get together for old times sake and just spend an afternoon catching up while their daughters did…well, whatever it was that kids did these days while their parents were gabbing. Oriel, unfortunately, was far from ready to go. He’d gotten in late, as usual, from the nightclub where he starred in a couple of really “classy” burlesque acts. Some might say it was completely tasteless, but as long as there was a market for it, the art would still exist. And Oriel enjoyed it, having been a regular performer for the past…well, it was nearly 10 years, now wasn’t it? How time flies…

“Hey, Alex,” he greeted the woman, stepping back to let her and her kid inside. “Sorry, I’m a little late in getting ready…” Oriel looked to the living room, which was still quite the mess(a fact which irked Oriel to no end). “I actually only got up, like…an hour ago, maybe?” That was when Phoenix had poked him before going to work for the day. “Uh…have a seat…” he offered. If she could find one.

A monster jumped onto his back and started climbing up the man’s torso as if he were a mountain to conquer. Oriel leaned forward with a grunt. “Mommy, who’s that, who’s that?” Devi the devil practically shouted in his ear.
