I'll Save You, M'lady! (Georgeous)

Soooo... Hammel retreat.  Which, Benji took, as a way to step up his game and hit on some ladies out in nature.  Because, well, that was what he was always thinking about! (Not really, he thought about other things like getting good grades and dancing and sometimes Pokemon, but he didn't admit that openly, except maybe dance).  But really, even in the woods, he needed to look good, so he actually dumped his usual bad-boy tanks and jeans and went for something a bit softer, earthier for once.  Maybe he'd get a different sort of audience, like... Some cute hippie chick or something.

He was lounging down by the lake, butt planted in a patch of grass as he listened to some nice music from his MP3 player.  If a song came on and he got a random burst of inspiration to dance, he would - and since there were some people hiking around and stuff, he was optimistic that some cutie might see him and come over!  He had a couple other things in his bag to break the ice - like snacks, and a camera, and other random stuff.  His coat had been deposited beside him since it was pretty warm in the sun.

Now... Just to wait.

As per usual, George wasn't exactly paying attention. Her ability to be absent minded was astounding - as with every time she went into a wooden nature land area place, she did actually leave her electronics back in the cabin, and even then, she rarely opened her laptop. Truth be told, she loved the outdoors. Fresh air, clean space, nature... as much as she joked about the world outside of her computer, she couldn't help but enjoy herself as she strolled with her hands in her pockets, a purple beanie on her head.

There were numerous people dotted around. She recognised faces, knew a few names, and had talked to her friends earlier, but now she was on her own, to explore the area and find the familiar spots from past retreats. She liked staying out as the sunset, and tried to look at the stars a little before lights out, so finding a nice gap in the foliage would be good.

Her head was up in the clouds and, sadly, as muc as her mind wouldn't like to agree, her feet were still firmly planted on the ground. So as she traced near the edge of a lake, looking up, she was caught off guard by a small dip on the ground and, with a little yelp of a squeal, she fell into the water, flailing about like a fish out of water... but in the water. That metaphor definitely made sense.

Benji's MP3 had just decided to put on a song that he immediately felt some inspiration from and he was just about to stand up and start laying out an impromptu routine when the sound of a squeal and a splash caught his attention. He jumped in surprise and whirled around, catching sight of some ripples spreading out a short distance away behind some foliage. It sounded like a girl's shriek, so Benji was instantly on alert as he rushed towards the location, but not before grabbing his coat - just in case.

Yes, Benji always thought before he acted (lies).

"Are you alright, babe?" he asked as he scuttled down to the edge of the water, reaching out a hand to offer help to the stranger so she could get out. It took the boy a few moments to realize he recognized the girl's face, and when he did, his eyes went wide. "Georgeous?" he blurted, caught a little off-guard. Their last couple meetings had been... Interesting, and he wasn't sure how she would react to his help. Nevertheless, he was still offering it... But he made a note to refrain from using the words "babe, baby", etc. Georgeous was fair game, though! "What happened? Did someone push you?" He scowled. "Do I need to beat someone up?"

Because yes, he totally deserved that right.

George splashed about a little, before properly coming back up to the surface and attempting at treading water in her now very heavy clothes. She panted slightly, still recovering from the shock a little, when she heard that familiar voice. The British girl squinted her eyes open and raised her eyebrows, as if just showing an attitude would clarify that she was fine. 'Babe' still annoyed her, though.

At the other nickname, however, she half-grinned, saluting, "Yo." She swam a little closer as he began asking questions, "Well, if you look over there," She pointed in the general direction from wence she came from, "You might find the mean Diglett that tripped me up." Wait, woops, Pokémon reference. Ah well. He could confuse himself over the details of Digletts at another time.

She went to take up his offered hand, in spite of the fact that she still wasn't sure what to think of him, when she felt an emptiness. She thought for a moment, before her hands shot to her head and she went under a little. Her beanie! "Shit, shit, shit...." She turned away from Benji, scanning until she saw floating purple. She beamed and swam over to it, picking it up and swimming back, taking up Benji's hand and using it to help herself out this time. She wrung out the beanie, "Sup, Benjiful."

...there was nothing wrong with returning a nickname.

Hey, Benji got a good reaction from "Georgeous"! One point for him! He grinned back at her after he realized she was alright, though it fell in slight confusion as George pointed beside him. Wait did she just....? "Did you just throw a Pokemon reference at me?" he asked with a raised brow, his smile slowly returning. "'Cause... Your splash was sure effective at getting me over here." Oh God, that was bad, that was really bad... But it was the best pun he could think of at a moment's notice. But hey, at least George would know he got the reference!

He was about to grasp her hand when the girl suddenly seemed to go into a momentary panic. "Whoa, hey, you okay?" Benji asked, worry touching his voice. "You're not hurt are you?" He could go run and grab a nurse or something if he had t- oh, no. It was her hat. "... You really like your hats, don't you?" he asked with an amused smirk. Benji pulled George up out of the water and, at the comment, laughed incredulously.

"Nothing much, just helping out m'lady in a time of dire need," he replied, offering over his coat when she was on firm footing. "You're going to get chilled if you don't get warmed up... You should wear this until we get back to your cabin." Because yes, he was planning on accompanying her back whether she wanted it or not!

Was she supposed to be this lenient? Well, screw it. Benji wasn't being a pain, so George wouldn't be a pain either. As he asked about Pokémon, and then went on to make such a terrible reference, she couldn't help grinning wider, "You're a Pokénerd!" A term she had totally just made up on the spot and was completely assuming about. "Please tell me you are." Because if he was, then maybe he wasn't just a flirting twit.

"If you knew me well enough," the Londoner explained, "That would be very obvious already." It definitely wasn't a secret to... anyone who knew George that her hats were important to her. Want to get on Georgina's good side? Buy a half decent hat. She shook herself out a little. Shit, it was cold.

She raised her eyebrows, "Y'lady?" She shook her head a little, "I hope you're not referring to me." She said. Because she was nobody's lady, she was an independent fabulous woman girl lady person. Suck on that, society. She eyed the coat as it was offered, slowly putting it on and muttering something about Moriarty and bombs. It was too big, definitely too big, the sleeves covered her arms and it was practically drowning her worse than the lake did, but she said nothing, and began tottering, sighing as she did, "If you can't handle not being in my presence, then I guess you can walk with me." She said, seeing as he had invited himself to do so. The coat helped.

She flicked some wet strands out of her face, "I didn't think you would be an outdoorsy person, Mr. Eyy-babe-let's-make-out." Totally not specific.

"Am not!" Benji retorted, shifting his eyes back and forth humorously. "... Okay, I've played the games a couple times, but it's not like I spend hours perfecting my team or anything, nope..." But then again... Knowing George, she would probably think that was attractive, or something. "I mean, unless you like that," he added, wiggling his eyebrows.

"Sadly, I don't know you well enough yet, but I'm sure I will eventually," Benji replied with a confident air. Note to self - George likes hats. He'd have to go out and find something cute for her or something sometime. Something that would always remind her of him. Yeahhhh...

His lower lip pouted out a little. "Of course I'm talking about you, who else would I be talking about?" Benji asked, waving around at the general lack of people. "But I can call you something else, if you'd like." He was willing to compromise, since George seemed the... Slightly strange type. But that was cool! Totally cool! And Ben felt totally victorious when she accepted his coat, which looked abso-freaking-lutely adorable on her smaller frame. "I should let you borrow my clothes more awesome, you're so cute!" he gushed, ignorant to her feelings about the jacket. "And you're right, I can't handle it, so there!" He darted over and grabbed his bag before coming back to George's side like an obedient puppy, grinning widely.

"Heyyy, I never said that," Benji retorted, thinking back to if he had actually said something along those lines. "But, yeah well, I'm full of surprises." He puffed out his chest like this was something to be proud of. "My dad's a biology professor, so we did this sort of stuff quite a bit when I was younger," he explained. "I could even tell you which plants are edible and which are poisonous."

George snorted attractively, "You're so convincing." But this was awesome! He did actually like something cool! This was great! "Of course I like that, you numpty." She retorted, "I game on a daily basis and Pokémon is fabulous. Duh." She knew encouraging him was probably a bad idea, but to hell with it - and besides, she was distracted with flailing in a lake at that time. Bit preoccupied.

The British girl raised her eyebrows, "I hope you don't plan to stalk me. I will know." One of the only things tracking was useful for - knowing whether or not someone was stalking you.

"I may be British, but other than being female, I am far from ever being a lady." She said. She did joke about being posh and uptight but... George was George. Actually being that way would be strange. "It's not like I can think up my own nicknames." She replied, "You can try stuff and I'll interrupt you to tell you if it's good or not." That was a fair deal. She didn't ask for confirmation, it totally wasn't necessary. From under the tent of a coat, Georgina scowled up at her company in the adorable way that she did, not wanting it to be adorable, but... can you imagine George scowling and not looking cute? Exactly. She wasn't happy, though, "Call me cute again and your coat with not be so dry any more." That was definitely a threat. But all the same, she rolled her eyes and her expression loosened at Benji's energy.

"You've probably said it at some point in your life, knowing you." She replied, cocking an eyebrow. George looked at him in disbelief, "Your dad's a professor?" She whistled, looking forward again, "Never would have guessed." It was cool, though. At the plant thing, she grinned, "I could probably do the same. Girl scout, motherfucker." She looked around at the greenery, "Like... edible," She pointed at one, "Edible," another. She swivelled and spotted something colourful, "Poisonous. And..." She 'accidentally' pointed at Ben, "Oh..." She prodded his chest, "Yup, this one's poisonous too." How to be nice to your friends, ladies and gentlemen.

"What the hell is a numpty?" Benji asked with a laugh. But okay, this was good, they found something they could bond over! Because Benji did like Pokemon, he just didn't usually admit it. "Maybe I'll have to try out some other games," he suggested. "I still owe you a DDR and pastry date, remember?" It was definitely something he hadn't forgotten... Ben had just been busy with school. And other dates. Ahem.

"Me? Stalk? Nahh, I have more class than that," he assured George with a wave of his hands. "I'll get to know you the good old-fashioned way." By wooing her until she was putty in his hands. Yes.

"Well... Well, alright," Benji finally agreed, though not without a frown. "I guess I'll just stick with Georgeous until I can think of something more... Casual," he decided. Not something like hat lady or whatever, that was too unoriginal. He bit his lip and tried not to 'awwww' any more about how adorable the girl looked scowling up at him with his jacket on. Because she was seriously cute. "But... But then you'd be wet and cold and I wouldn't have anything dry to offer you," he pouted. ".... Well, I guess I could let you borrow my shirt..." He smirked at this idea. "If that's what you want." Muahahah, he saw what her plan was!

".... Alright, probably," he sighed, rubbing the back of his head. "You know me better than I know you, apparently." Benji chuckled a little at the question. "What, that surprises you?" he asked, feigning offense. "My mom's a professor too. I'm not that dumb, you know. I'm actually pretty smart, I just don't usually show it." That wasn't a lie, at least, when it came to academics. His parents had taught him well. Ben looked around as George pointed out obvious things, until her finger landed on him, and he raised an eyebrow. "How would you know that?" he asked with a sly grin. "Have you ever tasted me before?" Whoops, accidental sex joke. "I mean... You know what, forget I said that," he fumbled, cheeks turning pink. "Where's your cabin?" They were getting close to where everyone was staying, so there were some more people milling around them.

Right. British words. Ugh. "A numpty is someone dopey, like Humpty Dumpty, or Psyduck." ...did they know about Humpty Dumpty here? She had been here five years(?) and she wasn't sure of this. That was strange. And if they didn't have the poor egg or whatever he was, that would be odd. Odd odd odd odd. "You definitely should." The great thing about video games is that there was something for almost everyone. George was non specific with her choices but she was random as a person too.

Oh yeah, they did already have a date... how did that happen again? The Londoner couldn't quite put her finger on it. Oh, and George was not becoming putty anytime ever. She just... wasn't.

Screw being cute, that was what internet cats were for. She shook her head and hugged the coat around her body, "I'll stick with the coat, thanks." She paused, "You can strip if you want, it's not like it will do anything for me." Just making that clear.

"I am all knowing, of course I know you better than you know me." She was slowly feeding him little bits and pieces about herself, though. Because she was nice like that. "Yeah, you really don't show it." A person could be academically intelligent whilst still being stupid. In George's opinion, Ben was one of those people. And she didn't hide her opinion all that often.

"You twit," she chastised, "Have you ever eaten a poisonous thing? Let me answer that for you - no, because poisonous things make you ill." She smiled in a cheeky sweet way at her connotations of Benji through that description. She brushed over the fact that his response sounded vaguely sexual. Dummy. "Somewhere over the rainbow." She joked, "Just a little further." She swung her arms as she walked, and then began singing quietly, "Oh, what a beautiful morning~ oh, what a beautiful day~ I've got a wonderful feeling~ everything's going my way~"

"Ooooh.... Okay, I get it," Benji said with a nod. "Numpty. I will keep that one tucked away." Ane he would use it someday without warning! Muahahaha! "You realize I'm going to be looking up common British words now so I can keep up with your foreign language," he joked. But yes, gaming... "I should... With you," he suggested with a smirk. "Maybe our next date."

Because yes, that was still totally happening. As soon as they got back from this trip. Maybe Benji would even manage to get a kiss from her before then, muahaha! (unlikely)

"What, it wouldn't do anything?" he pretended to pout. Ehh, she just hadn't seen him yet! Benji reached down and lifted the hem of his shirt up to his chest, revealing a thin and lean waist, before letting it drop again. "It's a bit too chilly for me to strip that much," he decided. For now.

"All-knowing... Right, I'll keep that in mind," Ben said with as straight a face as he could manage. He broke down and smiled again a few moments later. "Well... I guess maybe I should start showing off how smart I am around you too," he determined. Right before he almost tripped over a tree root. ".... Okay that had nothing to do with my intelligence," he stammered, flustered. Stupid tree...

He snorted. "... Good point. But I promise, I will only make you happy and healthy~" Benji twirled a little despite the fact that he'd just nearly tripped, and managed to be more graceful. "Sounds... Colorful," he chuckled. Ben peeked over at the goofy girl as she began singing; he knew some classics, so he hummed along. "Everything's going your way because I'm here," he said, puffing out his chest. They reached the place where the cabins were and gestured around. "Lead the way, m'l... my friend."

"Well," George considered, shrugging, "If you really want to impress me that much. Makes you seem a little desperate, though." She gave a cheeky grin, and then she coughed on thin air. Only Georgina would manage to do a ridiculous thing such as that, "Next date?" He had to be joking, "First off, we haven't even done the first one yet. Secondly, I'm not blind - I've seen you walking around with other girls, and finally, you used some kind of voodoo magic to get me to agree to go on this first date with you, good luck even attempting a second one." The second point... she hadn't been noticing on purpose - but it was obvious, and the type of person George had built the image of Benji being. Sorry, dork.

And, ha - the British girl wasn't about to give her first kiss to a womanizer like little Benji. The whole purpose of all this was for them to go on a date, and then for dear Ben to get off her case and possibly remain as a friend.

Georgina glanced at the taller boy beside her as he mentioned stripping and snorted, "I've had multiple male friends in the past, dipwad. Some toned, some not-so-much." She chuckled to herself, "It's amazing how much some people have stripped in front on me with none of them having sexual intention. I just seem like a gender-neutral weirdo to everyone or something." She bit her lip cheekily, "I've probably seen more of a person than you ever have. And I don't just mean physically." He probably hardly took the time to know any of his people before doing stuff with them.

George's judgemental eyes rolled over Ben as he spoke of intelligence, and then tripped up. She barked a laugh (and made sure to watch where she was going), "Sure, Albert Einstumble." Har-dee-har.

"I'm a colourful person." As in interesting, nothing else. She raised her eyebrows at him as they starting reaching their destination, "No, everything's going my way because you're almost gone and I can stop being a drowned rat." Much friendly. Such wonderful. The shivering (slightly) girl began walking, until she was at the right door, and then turned and looked at the dancer for a couple moments.

"No boys." And she quickly swiveled and slammed the door in his face.

"And yes, I am keeping your coat." She said through the door, before snuggling into it for a moment and then taking it off and throwing it on her bed, shivering to go find a towel. And she'd totally locked the door... had to have.... not really, but whatever.
