Well, then, that answer was disappointing. Inwardly, Maebelle had already gotten excited and had started to think on how she could decorate the hedgehog's living environment. So when Gunnar informed her that pretty much every plant would get eaten, dug up or used as a bathroom, that plan shattered. At the same time, however, based on the information the man provided them, she was willing to buy a strawberry plant for the little critter. It was slowly starting to become clear that the woman would have to make some sacrifices in order to give their soon-to-be pet the best care possible. "A strawberry plant sounds good," the brunette decided with a little nod as blue eyes drifted from Gunnar's back to Kieron.
'Sorting things out' still sounded like he would want to pay for this. For now, however, Mae let it be. Instead her gaze drifted ahead while starting to mule on a name. She hadn't thought about that yet, which made it difficult, mainly because she never had had plans to get a pet. "Any pretty names you read in one of those books of yours? You can help me pick. I mean, it would kind of be ours, you know? If it's going to stay at your house?" Their pet. It sounded good, right? Maebelle wasn't sure why, but it sort of felt like a big step forward in their relationship. Maybe Kieron wouldn't be too interested in having co-ownership when it came to a hedgehog, but the woman liked to think of it as 'theirs'.
When Gunnar stopped at the cages, Maebelle looked from one to the other. Going too big wasn't good according to the pet shop owner, but she didn't want to go too small either. It's why she took a step away from Kieron's side towards the middle-sized ones. "This one would be good to start out with?" Blue eyes settled on the other man. Imprisoning the hedgehog was not something she wanted to do 24/7 though, which explained the question that followed soon after. "Also, is it possible to train a hedgehog? As in, to let it roam around once it's accustomed to its surroundings, without it damaging its health, mental or physically?" Maebelle hoped that made sense. She also hoped it wouldn't be too strange to ask. She wanted to ask if it was okay to let it walk outside, but the brunette knew the answer to that. Or, at least the answer Gunnar would give her because he was unaware of her ability. In her mind, at one point, it might be safe to let the pet roam in the garden - with the aid of her plant buddies to keep control over its whereabouts.
