Breaking into the lab! (Open!)

Kurt, who had made it to the door of the lab, was still very tired and examined the door. He thought it would still be open this time of night, but clearly not if the door was locked. He pulled on the door and tried to force it open, but it was no use, the door was sealed tight. Kurt sighed and pulled out a small paper clip and began to try to pick the lock, he saw his sister do it a hundred times to get into his room, so it should be pretty simple. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case with Kurt's massive and slippery hands. He couldn't pick the lock, nor could he pull the door open. It seemed he only had one choice left, Kurt gulped as he let the painful transformation happen. Kurt, who was now in his beast like form, back up on all fours before violently ramming the door with his massive shoulder.

The door flew open with a massive boom as Kurt hit it. He gulped yet again as he shut the door, but when he did he noticed he had broken the lock. Kurt quickly closed the door as best he could and ran down the stairs of the science lab on all fours. He hoped that no one had heard his massive break in as he continued to search through books and notes. He wanted a quick heads up on what to know, but he was still worrying in the back of his mind that he would soon be caught, that was the only reason why he stayed in his beast form. He kept looking through the notes and books as he looked back at the door every few moments to make sure he wasn't being watched. He hated to stay in this form when it wasn't required, but for once he felt like he could make acceptance.

It was late and yet again Vincent was on duty. Being the head of security meant he could avoid the night shift altogether if he wanted, but some personal problems in Vincent's life was forcing him here. He had just recently broke up with is long time fiance and he was using work to occupy his mind and avoid thinking about the break up. It had been somewhat clean, very little arguing. Vincent and Rose were just too different when it came down to brass tacks. Plus, with both their work schedules they saw very little of each other. Now enough with all that, back to the story at hand.

Vincent poured himself another cup of coffee, not that he needed the stuff. With Vincent's ability, if he felt tired, he could just stick his finger in a light socket and drain a bit of kinetic energy to turn into the stamina and go his body needed. Vincent just sort of liked the taste of coffee so it was really more of habit than anything. Two guards sat behind Vincent at their desks, going over day shift's paperwork and grumbling silently. These two guys were new and as such, they were at the bottom of the totem pole. All new guards pulled the night shift until Vincent saw fit to move them.

Turning around and leaning up against the table, Vincent sipped his coffee and stared at the wall. It was quiet, like any other night. There were a few kids sneaking around the campus, that was unavoidable, but none of them were up to anything destructive. It was usually the love struck ones that sneaked about and as long as no one ended up hurt or pregnant, Vincent let the late night lover's meetings take place. However, the sudden buzz from the computer speakers and the flashing monitors broke the monotony of the night. Vincent pushed off from the table and walked over to his desk, bringing up the floor plans for the school. With a button click, he turned off the buzzing alarm from the speakers and leaned forward to examine the screen. The alarm was coming from the labs, it seemed someone was up to no good.

With a sigh Vincent sat his coffee mug down and motioned to the two guards sitting at their desks. "You two are with me," Vincent said calmly as he made his way toward the security office door. The two guards smiled and quickly hurried after their boss. The security office wasn't too far away from the labs but Vincent put a little pep in his step as he made his way toward the labs and the scene of the break in. His mind ran through the possibilities of who could have broke into the labs and why. There were several dangerous chemicals there, but only in small amounts, not enough to merit breaking in and stealing them.

Within a few minutes, Vincent and his two guards were at the door that Kurt had plowed through. Vincent motioned to the guards silently and each took up position on each side of the door. "I'll check it out, you two stay here and detain anyone trying to get in or out," he whispered, never taking his eyes off the door. Then slowly, Vincent pushed the door open, his eyes darting around, looking for danger. He casually stepped through the doorway, pushing the door shut, letting it sort of just hang there since the lock was busted. Vincent could hear someone moving around in the science labs and so began to make his way down the stairs and closer to the sound and intruder. It might have been a student trying to find the answers to a test which was coming up, but then again it could be anything. Hammel wasn't exactly normal.

Reaching the lab where the noise was coming from, Vincent quietly pushed his way inside and looked around. It was sort of dark, but not completely. Some of the lights stayed on to make it easier for the guards to check things out when they made their rounds. Scanning the room, Vincent laid eyes on the intruder. It was some sort of animal, but watching its movements Vincent surmised it was a student, a shapeshifter. Clearing his throat, Vincent spoke, "Breaking into any class room or office is a serious offense. But I'm a reasonable man. Come along quietly and take your medicine and I just might keep the headmistress from getting involved." Vincent hoped whoever or whatever this was would listen to reason and not try to barrel through him to escape, not that they could. Vincent was immovable and practically invincible.
