"Last one up the tree is a telepath with Justin Beiber songs stuck in his head!" Jake yelled out to his twin as he ran across the backyard to the Bishop tree house.
"Cheater!" Jake yelled back, a few steps behind his brother. "I'm carrying more stuff!" It was true. Each brother was carrying their history books and notes. They were going to attempt to get some studying done for their test next week. But Jake had also swung by the kitchen for some snacks, though Oreos didn't really add that much extra weight.
They reached the tree in record time. Sometimes even they were surprised by their speed and strength. When they were together they really felt unstoppable. They started to scramble up the tree, pushing each other and almost dropping everything once or twice.
Once they reached the top they walked inside the little hut nestled in the branches. It was quite a cozy, sturdy, and extravagant tree house. But after all they'd had a ton of siblings to each add to it along the way. Still John and Jake considered the tree house to be their domain now. Most of the Bishop siblings considered themselves too old to hang out up there anyways.
So they were a bit surprised to open the door and find their sister inside.
"What are you doing-" "-in our tree house?"
