The Basics
Name: Genevieve Duval
Nicknames: Ginny
Age: 15
Orientation: Pansexual
Desired Rank/Job: Exchange student from Kocher
Powers: Animal Manipulation
Genevieve has the ability to control insects. She can usually guide them to sting others if she so desires to, and behave in certain ways, such as controlled flight and, curiously, dancing patterns. Insects seem naturally attracted to her, so they are often in the vicinity, but there are places they can’t get in, such as buildings that have been decontaminated or even just fumigated.
Of course, the powers come with the limitations each animal has and, not to mention, the fact that most animals like that are small insects and can easily be killed by most chemicals or even a hand swap. Right now, Genevieve can only control bumblebees and some mosquitoes, not many, but other types of insects have proven far too stubborn and dangerous for her, trying often tiring her down to the point of collapse. The other downside her powers have is that she’s often followed by such animals, getting stung more times that she can count, so her arms and legs are covered with scars from the stinging making her constantly itchy. Besides, being surrounded by insects doesn’t help sociable and friendly Genevieve make friends. A lot of people dislike insects and that alone creates a whole new problem for her.
Due to the usual blood loss that comes from being a constant meal for insects, Genevieve is always physically weak. She seems to be smiling and even active, but more often than not, tough activities end up with her collapsing from exhaustion. This also makes her physically weak and vulnerable to any type of attack, particularly when she's exhausted herself from controlling her insects and about to collapse. Fighting is certainly not her strong point, not that she likes conflict anyway.
Lately, Genevieve has been noticing that her own emotions seem to be connected to the way her pets react around her. When she gets mad, the insects around her will attack anyone in the vicinity, including her, so she has to constantly be aware of her temper. A fifteen year old trying to control her moods? It’s actually tougher than it sounds, particularly for a girl like Genevieve.
Despite all of this, Genevieve loves them and often talks to them as if they were friends, naming them and keeping them close, but this is probably just her trying to overcome her loneliness. They don’t exactly understand her, not that she knows of, but it’s still fun to talk to them.
She not particularly inmune to poison either, so any insect that ends up stinging her, with enough poison, will end up getting her hurt and be at the mercy of that poison's effects.

Eye Color: Brown
Any Piercings? No
Any Tattoos? No
Any Scars? Yes, all over her arms and legs. Small, reddish dots from the stings of many insects and she can't stop scratching them.
General Appearance:
Genevieve isn’t the most appealing of girls, although one wouldn’t say she was ugly. She’s very natural and her style shows it too. Cotton shirts, jeans, the occasional breezy skirt and flip-flops are what you could easily find inside her closet.
She often wears her hair down, liking the feel of the breeze in it, and her face is often just washed and never with any make up, although she feels curious about it.
Most people who see her might think she’s a hippie from first looks, what with the girl often liking being outdoors with her light clothes and surrounded by bugs, but that’s not exactly right.
She’s almost 1.72 meters in height and her weight is a bit under the scale, considering how airy she is and often forgets to eat.
Personality:
Genevieve could be seen as an airhead by most people who don’t know her. There is something about her that seems to always be lost in the clouds and in her own dreams. Sure, she’s always looking up at her little friends flying around her, but that doesn’t mean she’s entirely dense. She’s sweet and friendly, always going at her own pace.
She’s rather friendly, smiling at everyone and always trying to talk to every person around her, even if she doesn’t understand them very well. She’s a bit of an idealist though and that often gets her in trouble with others, always speaking her mind without any filter, unsure of what’s proper to say and what isn’t. But she’s also very touchy and very close to the people around her, feeling immediate connections with almost everyone she meets. Her airy personality also leads her to miss most insults or even notice when someone is either annoyed or scared, especially since she never feels either way. So if you want to get her angry, you'll have to be very specific and never speak in sarcasm.
She often likes to be outside, under the sun and feel the grass under her feet and the wind in her hair, a residual from her powers.
Genevieve also holds quite the temper. She’s rather moody and explosive sometimes, going from being gentle and serene to screaming and angry. There are no in-betweens for her and she’ll often react poorly at criticism and name calling, letting such emotions over power her and take over her abilities. She often hates herself when that happens though, feeling guilty if her friends end up attacking anyone. Curiously, not much embarrasses her, unless someone else points out her flaws, particularly in public.
Living with your head stuck in the clouds can often become a problem, considering how little she can relate to others even though she tries so hard to do so. She’s careless and completely impractical, never thinking ahead and never feeling any need to care for anything outside her immediate needs. She often doesn’t do what she has to, always letting her gut and her feelings decide for her, which can often lead to problems with either school or others. Maybe that’s the reason she has little control over both her emotions and her powers, considering she’s never truly trained as needed.
A curious thing about Genevieve is that her English is very bad and broken and she’ll often say the wrong word. Coming to America feels to her like arriving to a different planet. She was already a tad odd back in France, but here, among so many social rules, she has no idea how she’s supposed to behave and the language barrier doesn’t help.
She also is a big romantic, getting lost in the love lives of others and dreaming of her own perfect little romance. She’s passionate about it and will often get involved in others people’s lives, whether they want her in it or not. And she can truly be a good friend, if you look past her meddling. Genevieve is loyal to a fault, defending her friend whether they are right or not, and the same goes with her romantic partners. She gives herself fully to anyone she loves, may those be friends, lovers or family.
She often sees the good in others and gets truly disappointed when she finds out they aren’t perfect like she imagined though, leaving her miserable and hating herself. She’s prone to get sad about things and will often be seen lost in her thoughts. That’s one thing about Genevieve, she wears her feelings on her sleeve, easily letting others know how she feels just by looking at her. She can’t lie, can’t truly hide her true self and, overall, can’t say anything that goes against what she feels or thinks.
It’s curious how big of a hypocrite she can be at times. Sure, she’s often meddling in other people’s business, wanting to help in any way she sees fit, but will often never accept help for herself or even criticism. When this happens, she feels threatened; personally hurt despite knowing whatever is being told is true. Besides, accepting help from others makes her feel her independence threatened and that’s something she doesn’t take lightly. Anyone trying to help will be seen as an insult to her intelligence, her ability to resolve problems or her own being, making her react poorly to them.
She’s not exactly dumb, or at least, not as dumb as her airy behaviour makes her seem, but she’s also not incredibly bright. She could be, like everyone else, if she applied herself, but Genevieve just isn’t the kind of ‘live up to her potential’ like many had recommend her do.

History
Genevieve actually had a very nice childhood. She was born in France to Gina and Leo, and had a big brother she adored, Julien. She was a cheerful girl, always smiling and getting in trouble, like most kids her age. She easily made new friends too, often leaving her house to have adventures in the city, and escaping every time she could to the countryside. She could be considered a wild child by most people, but Genevieve was actually a sweet girl, enjoying the company of others and liking to listen to their stories.
It wasn’t until she turned twelve that things started to change. Bugs had started to follow her everywhere and, while curious, no one paid much attention to it. That was until her mother discovered Genevieve’s arms and legs covered in scars from the stinging of what appeared to be bugs. They truly didn’t know how it happened until, one day, her mother had entered her room and found a twelve year old Genevieve, asleep on her bed, covered in all kinds of insects. Genevieve didn’t seem to mind living like that, calling the insects friends, but it wasn’t long before a representative of Kocher came along to take her away from her family and to their academy.
Things weren’t so easy from then on. Genevieve found her abilities to be a problem between her personality and how close others could want to be. She tried her best to make new friends, but more often than not, girls and boys alike shrieked in disgust as the bug girl attempted to get closer.
That lead Genevieve to seek shelter in her new friends, often talking to them as if they could understand and losing herself inside her head. That didn’t help the rumours and pretences kids had of her and, soon enough, she was considered far too weird among her peers.
Three years passed like that and when she turned fifteen and saw the opportunity to leave Kocher, she took it, becoming an exchange student and made her way to Hammel in January, when the opening was available, to seek out the one person she knew would still love her, her beloved brother.
