The BasicsName: Killian Finnegan Delany
Nicknames: He’s been called plenty of things, none of which one would want sticking as a nickname
Age: 17
Orientation: Heterosexual
Desired Rank/Job: Student
Powers: Invisibility—Maintaining full invisibility is the hardest part of using his ability, as it takes the largest amount of concentration and focus-two things that Killian is not particularly good at. At most he can stay invisible for maybe two minutes on average. With focus and concentration that can be extended, but if he gets spooked or surprised or anything of that nature his invisibility is almost always dropped immediately. Side effects of using his powers tend to be dizziness, fatigue, and nosebleeds, and a goosebump-like sensation that can last for several hours afterwards.

Eye Color: Green-Gray
Any Piercings? nope
Any Tattoos? not yet
Any Scars? he has some jagged scars on the back of his right hand from putting his hand through a window, but other scars are fairly small or faint from your standard childhood antics.
General Appearance: Killian takes more after his mother in terms of his facial features, but more after his father in terms of his height and build. He has a thinner face, but without the generally pinched features such a structure tends towards. His eyes tend towards a gray-green hue. One of his most distinguishing features is his mop of brown hair, which is often kept at a passably shaggy medium length. Anything longer tends to annoy him. On rare occasion he will pass a comb through it, though more often than not he lets it do what it will.
Killian takes his height from his father, standing at an inch over six feet he falls right in line with the Delany males. Despite his height he manages to refrain from being lanky or gangly. His build tends towards lean wiry muscle from years of athletic extracurricular activities. Even before puberty kicked in he was never a heavy child, unlike his sister who carried more of her baby fat with her throughout her younger years.
As far as wardrobe and fashion choices go, he doesn’t really have any particular preference. He has a bit of something for every occasion, but prefers to keep things simple, and mostly in earthy/darker colors at that. He’s not terribly picky or fussy when it comes to things like clothing, and for the most part is fairly open to suggestion on the matter.
Personality: The core of Killian’s personality is his Devil-may-care nature. Killian is an easy going individual, when life gives him lemons he juggles them until he’s figured out something more amusing to do with them. There’s little that he takes very seriously, he just doesn’t see the point in it. Life’s too short to be grumpy and serious. He can on rare occasion be both of those things, but it takes quite a bit to push him to that point. It also takes a good bit to get him angry—truly angry, anyways.
Killian is always ready to make with the mischief, and always ready to pull of some grand prank at a moment’s notice. A notorious skirt chaser, Killian’s a master of denying better judgment in the presence of a pretty face. He’s easily persuaded into all kinds of shenanigans, and although he has quite the charismatic streak, he’s not much of a leader in the traditional sense.Your VicesLikes:
• Sweets: He absolutely loves anything sweet—even fruits will do in a pinch.
• Physical Activity: Killian is full of restless energy that demands an outlet, and any type of physical activity will do. Whether it’s restless pacing around a dorm room or racing a friend, anything that gets him up and moving is a good thing.
• Music: What teenager doesn’t like music? Killian’s no exception, he loves his tunes—though he himself is quite tone deaf.
• Books: Killian doesn’t like all books, but rather ones that teach him something he finds interesting. He doesn’t care for fantasy or fiction, and most non-fiction goes right over his head. But he enjoys reading things that help him learn a new skill, or teach him something that might be useful in one of his schemes.
• Motorcycles: Stemming from a childhood spent around his Uncle’s garage, Killian loves everything about the bikes from the smell of oil to the deafening revving of the engines
• Adventures: Going hand in hand with his pools of restless energy, Killian loves going on adventures, often spurred on by the need to do something that will keep his attention for more than five minutes. Some would call these ‘schemes’ but Killian prefers the term ‘adventures’—he believes it adds more class.
• Mischief: Killian lives to get himself into some form of trouble. Often his schemes and pranks are mostly harmless, but he takes great pride in always making them bigger and better—the resulting amount of trouble he gets into only goes to serve as a testament to his actions.
• Dogs: Killian loves dogs, more than he loves people-and that’s saying quite a lot. He has two dogs back at home, a Great Dane and a lazy Corgi. If there’s dogs or puppies involved one doesn’t have to say much to get Killian on board.
Dislikes:
• Vegetables: He’ll eat them but he won’t be happy about it
• Bullies: If there’s one thing that Killian truly can’t stand-it’s a bully. Should one cross his path he will pull out all stops to ensure that the offending party is appropriately humbled.
• studying/academia: School has never been one of Killian’s strong suits—he likes learning things that have useful applications, but most of what goes on in classrooms he finds to be useless and tedious and hard to understand—mostly the latter, which makes him uncomfortable.
• Spiders: Killian absolutely deplores spiders, quite possibly more than anything else in the world. He used to be afraid of them as a child, but after being bitten by one when he was 10 that fear turned to hatred, no spiders in his field of vision live to see the next day.
• authority figures: His dislike of authority figures isn’t so much of people in a position of power, but people in a position of power who abuse or misuse their power to put down others or lord over others with some sense of superiority. It ties into his dislike of bullies and has much the same outcome.
• Hot weather: Killian is a cold weather kind of guy-cold rainy days, cold snowy days, chilly fall days—those are the best times of the year. That time where it gets hot, that usually just manages to make him cranky and irritable.
Strengths:Charismatic, athletic ability, good at fixing things up, loyalty, high levels of energy, open-mindedness, pranking
Weaknesses: Academics—anything scholarly really, cooking, being serious, staying out of trouble, saying no, anything music related
Fears: Commitment, Clowns, Conformity
Secret:Cried at the end of TitanicFamily TiesFather: Seamus Delany
Mother: Ciara Delany
Siblings: Enya Delany (16)
Any Other Important People:Howitzer (Howie)-pet Corgi, Nessy-Great Dane, Cormac Delany-UncleHistoryBorn in Belfast, Ireland, where he lived for the first fourteen years of his life. He lived a fairly average life, parents pulled in enough money for a comfortable lifestyle. There wasn’t much in the way of excitement on the homefront. Family dinners, school, and so on—rinse and repeat. Killian’s father was an engineer, his mother a nurse. Both fully devoted to their work. As far as families go, Killian could have done much worse. But his relationship with his parents never really took—through no fault of theirs, he just felt closer to his uncle, Cormac than his father.
It was his uncle that taught him how to repair cars and motorcycles in his garage, one part at a time. It was also his uncle who, much to Killian’s father’s dismay, taught him all the ways of a troublemaker—from pranking to just about anything that could get him grounded for a substantial chunk of time. When Killian wasn’t with his uncle he was in school, a place he both loved and hated. He hated the classes, but he loved his extracurricular activities—wrestling in the winter and track and field in the spring.
It was just after Killian finished the school year that his family moved to the United States. His father claimed it was for a new job, a better job, but the circumstances under which they were moving always seemed strange to Killian. It seemed abrupt, forced, and hasty. During this time, Killian tried to reach out to his uncle, but his father caught him and grounded him for a week. It was during this week that Killian’s father told him the truth of the matter. They weren’t moving because of a job, but because Cormac had gotten himself into trouble with some particularly nasty people. Killian’s father didn’t elaborate beyond that.
The family moved stateside soon after that, to Connecticut where his father did manage to grab a job. Even with the new job and new start, Killian’s father urged caution— to do nothing that would draw attention. Nearly a year had passed and almost everyone had acclimated to the new environment, everyone except Killian. He hadn’t heard from his uncle since they had left Ireland, and his younger sister had far outshone him in every aspect. He wasn’t jealous per se, but he did feel somewhat…invisible. His power manifested shortly after, and when he simply disappeared in front of his family only to reappear moments later, everyone—himself included, was sufficiently freaked out.
A week passed, with everyone pretending nothing had happened. In fact, everyone had just about stopped talking altogether. It was on the eighth day that his family was contacted by a representative from an institution—a school by the name of Hammel. When his family learned that they had helped other people like Killian, it didn’t take much for them to have the boy shipped off.
Killian has been at Hammel for two years now, going about his daily life, trying his best not to flunk out, attempting training, and trying to make something out of what he deems to be a dismal situation.Roleplay Example”Place is the pits,” Killian said as he scratched Howitzer behind his ear. The small dog merely cocked his head up for a better angle. “’s always work work bloody work. How’s a boyo supposed to have any fun? These crazy Americans are just so ugh!” he tossed a pillow across his room in frustration. Though, in the time he had been away his room had become more of a family storage facility than a bedroom, but it was always cleaned out when he visited home for the school’s breaks. Howitzer yelped excitedly in response, hopped off the bed, and trotted over to the fallen pillow.
Killian couldn’t help but laugh as the small dog dragged it back to him. He hadn’t intended to start a game of fetch, but it was already too late for that. “Se’ll down there killer,” he teased the corgi as it plopped itself—pillow and all—back into Killian’s lap. Even after nearly three years in the land of opportunity and freedom he had still managed to keep his thick Irish accent, mostly as a small personal rebellion. He didn’t hate the country, but it wasn’t his home, no matter how much his parents wanted it to be so.
Nessy perked her head up from her position under the windowsill for a moment before lowing it once again and returning to her nap. “Good idea,” he said and flopped backwards, closing his eyes. A nap was just what the doctor ordered. What About You?Name: uh, Matt, I guess.
