The Basics
Name: Macie Lucille Wyatt
Nicknames: Mace
Age: twenty-six
Orientation: Heterosexual
Desired Rank/Job: Interpretor and powers trainer
Powers: Bioluminescence-- Ability to glow in the dark or otherwise emit a glow from one’s skin. Macie's luminescence in specific has always been really bright. She's not sure if it's because she's rather pale, or what, but it's always been like turning on a flashlight in a dark room. Side effects include luminescent sweat, trouble sleeping, headaches and insects being attracted to her, especially moths, which she does not like. At all.
Play By: Analeigh Tipton
The Details
Hair Color: naturally? brown. right now? blonde.
Eye Color: blue-green
Any Piercings? nope
Any Tattoos? no
Any Scars? none
General Appearance: Rather tall for a female, Macie stands at 5'9" and while sometimes she feels like a beanpole--aka tall and skinny--she's mostly come to embrace her body over the years, especially when she added glowing to everything she kind of had to. She's naturally a brunette, light of a brown as it is, but often changes up her hair style. For the past year, since she moved back to Vermont, her hair's been short and blonde, just past her chin, however, it's always been wavy.
Macie wears a lot of cardigans and is convinced she owns one in nearly every color and often wears them over simple patterned tops, along with skirts that are long, and flowy when it's warm outside, but jeans when it's cold out, specifically black or white jeans, as she feels they look better than just blue denim. She's very particular and wears the same necklace everyday, a simple chain with a small golden key on it, one that she found when she'd first moved into her dorm room at Hammel.
Personality: Macie is...quirky. She's very organized and it nearly drives her mad if everything isn't in order. Her closet is color-coded and everything in her apartment has its place. However, she thrives on change. She loves a change of scenery, a change in style--especially her hair, which she'll admit she changes a lot, and a change in how she decorates her apartment, but she prefers the changes to be in her control. If it's out of her control, she starts to feel as if things are chaotic and unorganized. She gets attached to objects, especially the key she wears around her neck on a chain (she still doesn't know what it opens) and her tablet which contains her daily planner which helps her feel organized. She's also a huge fan of lists which she also keeps on her tablet. Basically, don't take her tablet from her. She's always loved learning and has a wide variety of interests as she finds so many things enthralling to study or learn about.
She's always been very responsible, not one to arrive late, but actually early and it kills her if she forgets something--like an appointment or a committment and she'll never stop apologizing for it. She's very reliable.
While all of these things make up who she is, she knows that it's her way of managing chaos. From a young age, she experienced fits of anxiety, worry about everything and anything. After seeing a psychiatrist, she learned how to cope, mentally that is. She doesn't want to rely on medication of any sort and combats her anxiety by keeping everything so organized and making lists so that these worries are out of her head and on paper. It helps, for the most part, but when things are out of her hands, she struggles to deal with them, especially when it comes to those she cares about...she can't make lists to make them do the things she wants for them and that frustrates her. A lot of people don't understand this and she tries to not let it bother her, mostly because how she deals with it works with her and she shouldn't have to feel bad about what she does to stay sane everyday.

History
Macie grew up in Illinois, a suburb outside of Chicago. As a young girl, it was apparent from the start that everything needed to be organized--like her toys and books-- and her brother Alex often liked to try and make her things a mess as he found it was funny to see her get frustrated and re-organize it all. In grade school, she made her parents color-code most of her school supplies and she got made fun of by other students for being so particular. She was always intense about school, wanting to learn everything and anything and became upset when she couldn't grasp a subject or concept in school. In late middle school, her parents realized that she was putting too much pressure on herself and that she seemed worried about things a middle schooler shouldn't be worrying about and so she saw a doctor who suggested it was anxiety. She saw a therapist for a while at the doctor's recommendation as her parents didn't want to put her on medication and she learned ways to deal with it that worked for her--like list making and prioritizing all of the things that caused her to worry and taking care of one at a time. This worked for her.
When she was fourteen years old, the weirdest thing started happening in her opinion. She started to glow. Upon noticing it at school, she locked herself in a bathroom stall and called her mother who thouht she was just having anxiety in her first week of high school. Only she actually was...glowing. After a few nights of her parents calling to make appointments with doctors and inquire about it and sleepless nights because her glowing skin was like a bothersome nighlight that you couldn't shut off, she was recruited to Hammel Institute.
She did well there and took many classes as electives in subjects she didn't even know if she'd like and found that her interests were diverse. She also worked very hard to try and not glow all the time, as she saw it more as an element of her life that she could not control, something to give her anxiety, rather than a power that could make her life easier.
When she graduated, she wanted to go to college for nearly everything, as everything seemed to have some merit to her. She found herself leaning towards a foreign language of some sort as she had taken both Spanish and German in high school and highly enjoyed both as it was so fascinating to learn all of the rules of a different language. It took comittment. She had a few deaf students in her graduating class that made her curious about sign language. She then applied at a university back in Chicago that had a deaf studies and ASL program and was accepted, finding herself studying the language and culture of those who were deaf for four years. Shortly after, she returned to Vermont, where she attended Hammel, to see if there were any deaf students she could help out, or work as an intrepretor for and found out about a young girl by the name of Mojo Knight, who was in need of an interpretor. She gladly took the job and also found herself applying for an opening as a powers trainer at Hammel. She's very close with Mojo and enjoys both of her jobs.
