Powers: Empathy- Alec could sense and sometimes even feel the emotions of others around him. It’s easier to sense it when the person is nearer to him or when Alec is touching the said person. Sometimes, if Alec concentrates enough then he could influence what others feel though it’s mostly really just figuring out what the emotions that are going through them are and heightening one of it. The side effects of his powers are a greater emotional sensitivity, his tendency to get overwhelmed by what others feel at times, emotional exhaustion/fatigue, and some occasional headaches.

General Appearance: Alec is a young man with a lean and fit body. He has curly dark blond hair and blue-grey eyes. He stands at 5’9’’ feet tall and is of average weight. He generally is the type to be seen with a playful smirk and a mischievous light in his eyes. His clothes are mostly the casual and comfortable type like shirts, jeans, hoodies and jackets. Some of his clothes would often have paint on it from his hobbies.
Personality: He is the carefree and outgoing type. He likes to have fun and is very enthusiastic with everything he needs to do. Alec’s the sort of person who could be both charming and annoying at time though he truly means well. He could be very talkative and can easily lose concentration on things he’s not interested in. He’s interested in art, sports, games and anime.
He tries to use his powers to understand people better and to help them but sometimes he does get overwhelmed with some of the emotions he gets from others. Alec is the type who would try to find the peaceful solution out of any disagreements and sometimes when he feels threatened he is not above to using his powers to get that (which has gotten him into trouble a lot of times before).
Despite the outgoing personality, Alec does enjoy relaxation and solitude at times. There are times when he would want to be alone with some art materials and music to create some “masterpieces”, as he calls them.Your VicesLikes:

Lukas Strauss, 21 (Older Brother, meta-human: perfect recall, intelligence)HistoryAlexei was born to what would be considered a rich family. They live in the Upper East Side of New York City, Manhattan. He never had to worry about anything financially. His mother had come from an old family with money and his father was a successful lawyer. So, Alec could get what he wants when he wanted to as long as it was quite reasonable.
They were a fairly close family. Their mother was an artist and she was the one who inspired that interest in Alec as a child. His father was often busy but tried to find time to spend with his boys, which they usually do by going to watch sports and playing them.
Alec was very close to his older brother and really admired him. Their parents always told them stories of how Alec would usually tail Lukas and imitate whatever the older boy did. The two spent a lot of time together and were often partners in crime when it came down to it. It was Lukas who had gotten Alec into video games and anime, although Alec had become much more interested in it than Lukas ever was.
The two brothers had attended a private all boys’ school together. Alec had been the overactive child that most people easily took to and had no problem making friends. He was better in sports and art classes and he tended to get distracted easily from things he found boring like Science and Math. It was his brother who would often help him get his work done once his concentration had been lost to the work.
This lack of concentration shows in his hobbies as well because he likes to try everything at least once. Though, Alec had an accident when he was younger where he almost drowned in a lake during a family vacation. Ever since then, he has this irrational fear of drowning and swimming is the only sport which he refuses to try until now.
When Alec had been nine and his brother fourteen, he watched as his brother’s abilities manifested itself as well as its side effects. Lucas would often have headaches and would always be tired for some reason but his scores in school were well and beyond what were expected of him and he easily remembered things he’s read or seen. It was then that Alec had also found out about The Hammel Institute as they took his brother to study in that school.
It was probably due to the fact that his parents had gone through the ordeal before that they weren’t that surprised or worried when Alec also began showing signs of his abilities when he turned thirteen. He became much more emotionally sensitive and showed signs of knowing what another person felt. He was in school when he had been overwhelmed by an emotion from a classmate and freaked out because he got confused and suddenly couldn’t tell what his own emotion was.
A few days later, a recruiter arrived to take him to Hammel just in time for the start of term after the summer.The school provided a new environment for him especially since he was used to being in an all boys’ school and was now supposed to live in a co-ed one. He had to adjust at first but he was up for all sorts of new things so he decided to go ahead and enjoy the new school he was currently in starting with getting himself into a co-ed dormitory just to get the hang of what it’s like to be around girls more often.
He decided to join the art club and tried some of the other activities as well. In the past, Alec had believed that he was only attracted to boys but being in a co-ed school revealed that he very much found girls quite attractive as well. He enjoys the new place and all it has to offer. He tries to do his best in class and in befriending the people he encounters.
Alec now generally has a better grip on his control of his powers and doesn’t get easily overwhelmed anymore. He tries to use his abilities to help people and to try and get everyone to settle their disagreements.Roleplay ExampleAlexei sighed as he dumped the science textbook on the table. It was impossible. He can’t make heads or tails of the things. What was the difference between centripetal and centrifugal force anyway!? Why did he have to know!?
He groaned as he let his head fall on top of the book, wishing that he could do something else at the moment. He wanted to draw right now, really. His hand twitched wanting to take a pencil up and just draw something.
Alec took his pen up, fully intent on solving the equation in the book. He glared at the thing as if daring it to be any harder than it already was. To his credit, he managed to get halfway through it before his equations turned to drawing his favorite characters on the margin of his textbook. He hummed as he drew, the equations well forgotten by now before his phone vibrated in his pocket, signaling the arrival of a text message.
‘Just a reminder that you have a science test tomorrow, lil’ bro…L.” The message suddenly brought back the fact that he needed to be studying instead of sketching things. It was annoying how his brother seem to have known that Alec was going to be distracted at that moment and so he decided to remind him.
“Damn you, Lukas,” Alec said, sighing as he took up his pen and another piece of paper. He started working on the thing once again. “Even when you’re not here you can still be the same arrogant, smartass you are.”What About You?Name: Rain
