If he didn’t have the freaking strength, then why on earth did he keep complaining? It wasn’t her fault, now was it?! The more Gabriel spoke, the more obvious it became that his faith in the blonde was pretty much non-existent. “I never asked you to give up anything! And I definitely never asked to freaking fall in love with you, alright?! I didn’t ask for that!” Gabriel was getting under her skin, in a bad way. And it felt toxic the second he judged this to be perfect timing to bring up Jackson and his son. Blue eyes narrowed at that. “Out of anyone,” she practically hissed “I would have expected you to know what it’s like to love a child.” Was it not correct to state that he would pick McKenna over Ki in a heartbeat? It was nowhere near fair of him to throw them into the mix, especially given he knew just how much it tore at her heart. “And if you can’t show the real you… You never trusted me enough to begin with.”
So with that statement out, the blonde almost found it hard to believe that she meant everything to Gabe. All his excuses for not being with her… The confession didn’t matter. It would not make a difference since he saw no future for them. Nevertheless, instinct made her snarl at him. “You mean more to me than you dare to acknowledge.” Blue glaring at hazel, only for them the suddenly widened when Gabe abruptly spun around. The wave of sadness that rushed over because he turned his back on her was overwhelming. Feet being nailed to the floor as she stood there, helplessly staring at the door. Seconds passed, and finally it dawned upon the girl, tears effortlessly giving this away.
They had messed this up quite royally.
