General Appearance: Cori has a very striking appearance. The sharp contrast between her black hair and pale skin draws the eye. Unlike many with such pale complexions, she does tan easily. She appears every bit a porcelain doll in many ways, from the delicate features of her face to her silhouette. Her eyes are a shade of hazel that seems to frequently change colors based on the light, anywhere from blue to green to even a light brown.
Her black hair is worn at about shoulder length with a natural wave to it, though she often wears it back out of habit. She stands tall for her age at 5'5" and has a very slim figure. Her body is not as delicate as it appears though. Having trained nearly her entire life as a dancer, her body is lean and strong. She is still experimenting with her personal style, though she does prefer dresses and skirts typically as they feel more natural to her.
Personality: Corrine is at heart a bubbly person. Though she has spent most her life relatively isolated, she has natural sociability. She has a natural charisma which is a large part of what made her such a good performer. She is a very friendly individual. However, she is also extremely naive. Being homeschooled, she has significantly less experience with her peers and as such can be extremely gullible and at times oblivious.
She is an optimist and though she knows she ought to be upset that her ability has forced a hiatus from her dance training, she is actually quite excited about coming to Hammel. Cori approached most everything with enthusiasm, which some can find a bit exhausting. She has never had the opportunity to do much aside from dance, and the freedom that comes with boarding school is tremendously exciting for the young girl. However, the amount of possibilities is a bit overwhelming for her. She is a bit disillusioned with her first love - dance - and as such is doubting her future. The myriad of possibilities is as much frightening for her as it is exciting.
Cori is a very emotive girl. This has always been a strength in her performing, as it allows her to connect with an audience, but on a social level, it makes her quite vulnerable. She is rather sensitive, especially considering how sheltered a life she has led up until now.
However, her life of dance has also given her an appreciation for the dedication required to achieve success and she is very aware of the sacrifices one must make to do so. Mostly she questions if being remarkable is worth the price. She greatly admires this level of discipline, though as of late she has found her own focus to be lacking and thus is easily distracted, especially now that she has much more freedom than she is used to.Your VicesLikes: trying new things, meeting people, chocolate, attention

Any Other Important People: NoneHistoryMadeline Randall was primed to have a promising career in the ballet. Until an audition went terribly wrong and resulted in an injury that ended her promising career.
So she did what most failed dancers did. She became a teacher. In time, she opened her own studio with the aid of her husband, Michael. Several years later, she gave birth to a child - a little girl who was given the name Corrine Jacqueline Moliere.
Her mother would say it happened naturally - after all, her daughter was constantly exposed to dance while she worked - but the truth of the matter was that her mother always wanted for her what she could never have.
As it was, Corrine grew up in the dance studio. By the time she was 4, she was beginning lessons. When she turned 5, her mother began homeschooling her. Why waste time dealing with overcrowded schools and buses?
It was clear early on that Corrine had a great deal of potential, and so her mother pushed her hard. Sometimes too hard, at least in her father's opinion. But Corrine wanted to please her mother and so she gave it her all.
By the time she was 8, she had begun competing in dance competitions, both as a soloist and eventually with her fellow students from her mother's studio. Her life consisted of little else. Her school lessons were rushed through in the mornings so that she could be at the studio, training, rehearsing, as soon as possible.
Her strict dance schedule meant little time for friends. There were the girls she danced with - who she felt close to - but many of them were jealous. After all, she was the instructors daughter, and there was never a doubt that she was the teacher's favorite. More than that, she was talented as well. It created a lot of jealousy, though Corrine didn't recognize this fact.
Whenever Corrine was 10, things got more difficult. Her father left. Her father said it was because of her mother. Her mother said it was because he didn't understand them. The arguments she overheard told her it was because of her. She and her mother travelled a lot and most their time was spent at the studio. He couldn't live like that anymore, he had said. No one knew she heard, but she had. She never forgot either.
The years that followed were harder. Corrine gave her all to dance, but she began to doubt herself. Was it really the right thing if it had driven her father away? Was it what she wanted? Did she enjoy it still or had she lost that somewhere along the way? More than that, she began to want more to her life. She loved dance - or at least, she thought she did - but she wanted friends and to try new things. She wanted to be a normal girl instead of a dancer.
But her mother wouldn't hear of her sidelining her dreams like that, and she couldn't disappoint her. So she kept trying. She wanted to love it the way she once had, yet the more time passed, the more she doubted herself.
Until she was 13.
She wasn't exactly sure what happened. She just fell asleep for no reason suddenly as she waited for her lesson to begin. It was unusual. At first both she and her mother brushed it off as a sign of exhaustion. But then it happened again that evening during lessons as her mother gave her corrections. That time she fell, and when she woke, they were at the doctors. Her mother thought it was a blackout of some kind and was concerned - after all, they had a competition in 3 days!
It was the next day that someone arrived to tell them that she was a meta-human. She had the ability to put someone - including herself - asleep through touch. Of course, this meant that she needed to come to Vermont and attend a special boarding school. Her mother was devastated - what would this mean for her dance career? But Corrine - or Cori as she had come to prefer despite the fact that her mother loathed the shortening of her name - was delighted. It was a chance to experience something new.
A chance her mother couldn't say no to.
She loved her mother, but she needed a break from dancing. She needed to explore what other options there were for her. Maybe she was meant to be a dancer, but she needed to be sure of it - her mother's insistence wasn't enough anymore.
Cori is arriving at Hammel filled with excitement, even if she is a bit perturbed by the nature of her ability and concerned by her lack of control over it.Roleplay ExamplePlease reference Alanna Darlington, Zoelle Heroux, Talia Spencer, Sydney Emerson, Avery Fields, and Chris Rossi. What About You?Name: Faraday
