TW: Movie Night for Two.

The day was cold and Sienna was cold as could be, huddled up with her favorite feline as she sorted through the movies that she had in stock. As it so happened she had something of at least a hundred good quality, relatively recent movies from acquiring them over the years - some of which were most definitely favorites. The Fault in Our Stars being one of them, but that was a movie to watch once every twenty years, and despite the fact that she had read the book numerous times, it still didn't help ease the pain. The redhead wasn't sure, however, if it'd be okay for what she had planned. Or if he would like the movie in the first place. Either way, Sienna much rather not cry in front of anyone if she could help it. 


The day would be relatively simple - Sienna had the fridge decked with drinks (both alcoholic and non) and some basic snacks. She planned on ordering delivery for the night right after the redhead managed the Irishman to take some time off for the night. After all, it was winter break and what better way to spend it with a friend. She was sure Milan needed a break, too. 


So Sienna called in to a few of her connections, i.e other Hammel recruiters to see if they would take Milan's cases should something come up for just today and planned an relaxing day with a good friend, knowing full well he was probably in desperate need of a break - much like he always was, despite his passion for his work. Everybody needed a break sometime. 

Heading to Milan's home was relatively quick and familiar, and at least 2 pm, it was as warm as it was going to be that day, which frankly, still left Sienna in three layers, so her knocking on his door was more hurried than normal. 

She heard Doodle in the distance, and knew it was only a matter of time before the Irishman came to open the door.

Of course everyone needed a break at times. The only problem proved to be that Milan judged his job to be relaxing. It didn't feel like a drag to him, meaning that he never demaned for some extra time off. While being at home, he usually walked around on egg shells, ready to get going if he were to be contacted. That, however, never kept him from getting in a comfortable outfit. Changing out of sweatpants, shirt and hoodie at a fast pace had became quite normal; it was why he took the risk of changing out of the suit when he got home in the evening. Today was no different, except that he had left Hammel a couple hours earlier than usual, having taken files with him, simply because the institute helped memories haunt him.

When someone knocked on the door, the recruiter quite honestly had no idea who it could be. His first reaction was to check his cell phone, just to make sure no call had been missed. Whenever a recruitement came up, they usually phoned him after all. It made him open up the door with a frown on his face - one which visibly faded some upon realizing who it was.

"Hey. What brings you here?" He asked while immediatly stepping aside. The hand not holding onto the door motioned for her to enter, and one she did, he locked the coldness outside once more. Doodle was quick to rush over and to greet the woman, but Milan ended up nudging the dog aside with his leg, giving her some space.

Part of her couldn't even begin to comprehend the idea of working as a relaxation method, but when she tried to pull herself away from it all, she could see that the traveling and even the time alone could be a breath of fresh air. But even so, her urge for company never ceased, and so personally she always felt that there was still something that Milan was missing. One person to keep company was always a blessing, but she understood his own quirks and preferences. After all, she's had about a year to figure them out.

The barking only grew nearer, and in response her lips pulled into an amused smile, something that grew as Milan opened the door and took a step aside even before she could ask to come in. The redhead had come over enough that he had already knew she wanted to come in and didn't come to simply sell girl scout cookies. Although... those sounded delicious to Sienna in that moment.

"I haven't heard an accent in about 48 hours, and I needed my fix." The dog being pushed aside only bounded back to her leg as soon as the door closed, to which she knelt down, slightly glad for the warmth of the dog's fur. "Maybe from a specific Hammel recruiter. Figured you could help me out?" Sienna's head turned to look up at the man standing just a few feet away, nearest the door that was just closed while she simultaneously gave the dog's head a good scratching, right behind the ears.

Milan quite probably should have expected that it would be Sienna standing at his door. Not many people came over after all, and those who did appear tended to send him a text message ahead of time. The redhead pretty much was the only exception to this rule. Not that he minded though. He actually cherished her company and presence, but it wasn't something the recruiter would state out loud. He was rather certain that Sienna knew to begin with. No one else managed to hog his free time.

When the woman explained why she was there, a smirk tugged at Milan's lips. "If you let me grab my phone, I can give you James Campbell's number." That was him helping her out, right? He wasn't too sure if James had an accent though. Milan had grown so used to having colleagues around that he subconsciously grew used to their accents. What he was positive of was the fact that James was a recruiter as well, so that was a good start, right? Of course the Irish man knew that this wasn't what Sienna meant, but it didn't keep him from playing dumb.

"Unless you wanted the number of a different recruiter? I'm rather certain you got a list of colleagues' phone numbers upon getting the job though, so my help might not be needed that much." After the scratch behind the ears, Doodle bounced off towards the living room area where one of his squeaky toys was laying around. Picking it up, he met the two of them halfway as Milan had been leading the way away from the front door.

"So, who's this specific recruiter whose accent you seem to adore?" Milan asked innocently while taking the toy from the Bernese Mountain dog, giving it a little toss before Doodle went to retrieve it.

Spontaneity had been a pretty large portion of her interactions with Milan, despite her heavily routined lifestyle. Honestly, she just did not like to tell people she was coming over; it was more fun looking at their faces when she just randomly showed up. But as for her schedule, it was all planned out. She would spend a few hours working on assignments or preparing her teaching plans, then she had the structured practicing of her piano or violin practice, and then, quite obviously, work. But as she removed herself from her college scheduling, she found she had a bit more free time, and therefore would do more to either annoy or amuse the people she held near and dear.

And from what she could tell, Sienna was definitely amusing Milan.

The redhead was well aware of the playful tone in the man's voice, but she couldn't help but roll her eyes at his comment. "Oh of course, I could definitely use a number of a recruiter whose home I am not at right now. It would only make sense."

Sienna walked in line with him as she watched Doodle bound off and bark at the squeaky toy that was thrown across the room. Her gaze followed doodle as he grabbed it and met them halfway. It was this time that she took the toy (with a bit of resistance from the dog) and threw it once more, and when she did, she turned to Milan. "Well I'm standing in your house, playing with your dog, it couldn't possibly be you I would be talking about. Pshhh, no."

"Definitely makes sense," was Milan initial reply. Soon enough he began to explain why it did. "If you knew the person's number, you wouldn't have come here after all. You could have headed over right away." Whatever ego existed got fed. To know that Sienna wanted to spend time with him was quite a nice piece of information. "But given you don't want to enlighten me with the name of the person you are looking for, I might as well try and make your time worth being here." Doodle seemed to be doing a good job at helping his master succeed at that. He would have to give the dog an extra treat later on.

"Anyhow, this fix you were talking about... How much accent does that require?" In other words, Milan was wondering if there was something she had in mind, and how long she wished to stay. Not that the recruiter had any other plans though; he just liked to have a general idea and at least a certain grip on the situation at hand. "And would you like a drink during that?" At that point the man was already moving in the direction of the kitchen. Doodle smoothed past him, daringly standing in front of Sienna with the toy in his mouth. He wanted to play, but he didn't want to let go of the squeaky thing.

Tugging the fridge open, he tried to figure out what he had to offer. "Alcohol, no alcohol?" Enough options to pick from, but it would be easier to sum them up if he knew which category she would go for.

There was something that Sienna truly enjoyed about Milan being expressed in the conversation that they were both having - He enjoyed going along with her shenanigans and made them as interesting as she'd hope they'd be. "That's so charitable of you to do," Sienna offered with a short exhale of a laugh.

"Enough. I mean, yours is not the greatest, but I think it'll do." To be completely honest, the redhead always loved listening to him speak, whether that was about recruiting, which she didn't always understand what he was saying, or just speaking to her in the general sense. There was nothing that was wrong with the way he spoke in any way. She found it to be entirely endearing, among other things. She tried following him to the kitchen, but Doodle blocked her path with a squeaky toy, knowing full well that she'd play with him.

How could she say no to that face, anyway?

Kneeling down, she attempted to remove the toy from the dog's mouth, to which he resisted for a moment, a playful growl breaking his general silence. Sienna grinned, and when Milan asked whether she wanted a drink, she called out, "I could use a glass of wine." It was then that Doodle let go, and Sienna threw the toy and he went running.

Sienna took this time to meet with Milan in the kitchen, leaning against the counter as she watched him grab the drinks. "I have a feeling that this will be a good night, what do you think?"

Milan had merely smirked. Of course his accent would do. Sienna might not 'confirm' it, but his was the greatest! Either way, the wine soon enough received his attention again. He could faintly hear the redhead deal with Doodle on the background while taking out two glasses, only for her to appear in the kitchen as he began to pour both of them some white wine. The recruiter hoped this was okay. If not, she could ask for red wine. It wouldn't require that much of an effort for him to get a bottle out of the basement.

"It's always a good night when you have pleasant company." The man spoke with a knowing look on his face as the drink was being offered to Sienna. His charm was often mistaken as flirting, but at the moment Milan had some doubts what to label his words as. He felt cautious, despite the fact that Sienna's presence brightened his day. Growing fond of someone was dangerous. And the young woman quite possibly saw him as a good friend. Nothing was worth the risk of losing this friendship.

His gaze probably lingered longer than it should have before he spoke up again, ending the silence which had felt like an eternity, even while it only might have been a second or two. "Anyhow," a hand motioned back to the living room, assuming taking a seat on the couch might be the most comfortable.

Once Sienna began to walk, the man followed. "For a second I thought you came over to check I wasn't working again." A smirk crossed his lips. She had cared when he had began to drown himself in documents. Milan appreciated it. Not back then, but right now the broken pieces of his heart did not cut as hard anymore. He could accept that she had only been looking out for him.

With a small smile on the redhead’s face, her hand extended to grasp the offering. Appreciative of the drink she now possessed, Sienna offered a raised glass as she took a moment to respond to his comment, “I’m glad you agree.” With little thought to her response, her words held a natural flow - almost flirtatious in nature - that accompanied his proximity. A lot happened in the course of the year and there were moments that seemed as though this wouldn’t be possible, but the redhead was sincerely grateful that it did.

There was still wondering on her part about what had initially occurred that left the man disheveled and restless, stuck in his office with no intention of leaving. However, in moments like these, Sienna found that there were more important things to focus on, and that was getting to the couch without Doodle knocking the wine glass out of her hand. The dog was fine in the current moment, but there was something in his eye that gave the impression that it wouldn’t be much longer until he attempted to sit on either her or Milan, or really, both.

Doodle was a good dog, obedient as all hell, but he was still a dog.

“What, me? I would never,” feigned surprise decorated her tone, although they both knew that whenever she burst in unexpectedly, it was partially to ensure Milan had an opportunity to relax. However, the recruiter was generally good company, and as she went on in life, many of her friends were still so very inclined to go out and party, which she wanted to do, but didn’t have it in herself to go out as often as they’d like. He was refreshing company, and typically willing to do whatever she had come up with so long as he wasn't in desperate need to finish something.

“And even if I did, I have a feeling you wouldn’t’ve minded either way.”

While no longer disheveled and restless like before, Milan still wasn't himself. He hadn't picked up his previous workload yet, simply because working at the same institute as Ella kept him wondering if applying somewhere else would make it easier to handle. It wasn't as if he ever really saw her though, but the mere thought remained enough to unsettle him. Perhaps the only reason why he stayed at Hammel right now was Sienna... Or maybe that feeling came from her being close to the only one who seemed to care at moments.

With a smirk, the recruiter took a seat on the couch. And despite the fact that Doodle had plopped down next to Sienna's legs, being good for now, he still opted to call the animal over and to command him to lay down at his feet. The last Milan wanted was the dog to annoy his guest.

"I could never mind your company. Except when I want to be alone." Chuckling, he inwardly recalled the moment when she wouldn't leave him be. The man soon enough dismissed it again though, rather not letting it ruin their time together. "Anyway, what brought you here? Except for my help to get that dose of a cute accent."

Little did he know that Sienna had planned for a movie together. And that she would probably try to get him to her place since her fridge was stuffed with drinks and snacks. Then again, perhaps the redhead had forgotten about this herself, given she seemed to have grown comfy on the couch.
