Cam had finally finished one year of his pre-law degree. Princeton didn’t have all of the programs he wanted, but he was guaranteed entrance into Harvard once he was done all he could do at Princeton. One year down, a bajillion to go.
Needless to say the year had been intense. Between making new friends, taking classes, studying for exams, and keeping a job in one of the cafeteria’s kitchens, Cam was constantly exhausted. It was a good thing he was so full of energy or he probably wouldn’t have made it. People always told him that he was a lot smarter than they initially thought he was and he happily reminded them that looks could be deceiving, and then that he didn’t want to be friends with assholes.
Cam’s love life had been, well, interesting. He could charm just about anyone, but keeping them around was another story. He had met so many beautiful people and none had taken him seriously. But he wasn’t about to give up on love, though he almost had when he and Matty decided to break things off. Long distance didn’t suit either of them, and Matty would never be as open about things as Cam was. If he hadn’t had his YouTube channel, he would’ve done something stupid, stupider than normal. But he had his friends to keep him bright and positive, figuratively and literally!
And all the people he missed… Now that he was planning on bumming around for the majority of the summer, he hardly knew who to text first, so, he just texted everyone. Glancing at his phone and selecting contacts, Cam decided that he would see the first person to text him back. That just made things fair really.
To: [V-Buds]
Guess who’s back back back, back again! This guy! You busy or what?
While he waited for a response, Cam happily busied himself by texting his university friends, letting them know he was safe and he would see them after summer if they hadn’t dropped out, insert tongue out emoji here. He sighed, his head slumping onto the back of the headrest as he gazed at the lake from his spot in the truck. There were no papers to write, no exams… Summer was awesome!
