Julien mostly sat around trying to figure out how to find himself a new roommate. It didn't help that he didn't know very many people and his roommate had moved out quicker than he'd moved in and Julien wasn't really sure why. He was working his job often, but he could only work so much with school and although his apartment wasn't ridiculously expensive...he was still struggling and using financial aid for some of it. He was working on a flyer to hang around town, hoping his written English was impeccable on it, so he'd be taken seriously. He was also texting Jen.

You're an expert on flyers. I saw your strange one for your brother's party. I don't even know what kind of font to use or how big... I know I'm texting you about flyers so that's kind of lame. Also, hello.

Jen was eating her ice cream when a message hit her phone and she stopped walking, smiling down at her cellphone when she noticed whom it was from. Julien! She bit on her lower lip and read the message, waiting a second to enjoy Kai's picture. Mmm! Wait- A flyer? She frowned and texted back.

Sure thing, Chocolate! <3 Just tell me whatcha need. My awesome designing skills have the expensive price of one large latte, tho. ;DDD!!! And it's not THAT lame. I'm glad you came to the flyer expert for help. Who knows what scary scam you would've ended up getting involved in if you hadn't come to me. D;

Julien couldn't help but grin when he'd read the beginning of the text message. It took him a moment to read the rest of it, as he was stuck on it. He was trying to get past his ongoing crush on Jen after what he'd seen at the party. He should have known that he'd only had a chance for a sliver of a moment. Everyone loved Jen and he completely understood why, but he couldn't stop cursing at himself for what he'd missed out on because of second guessing himself. At the least, he supposed he'd made a really good friend and he should be happy about that.

Alright, I owe you a latte. I'm trying to make a flyer because I need a roommate...badly. What do I put on it? And I know my English is not perfect.

She smiled gently as she heard her phone get a message back. Julien was still someone she cared about deeply, even if their relationship never got where she'd wanted it to go. Well, he probably deserved better and she figured, she'd never really been his type. But he would always be that one first real crush. Not because he was handsome, which he was, and not because of how well he flirted, but because he'd managed to make her feel good about herself, and not just because of her looks, but about who she was. She'd never forget that. And now that he needed her help, of course she was willing to give it. She stared down at her phone, still smiling, and read the message. Wait- Roommate? She stopped walking and her face broke into a wide smile.

She replied back and immediately sent the picture she had in her phone, of the flyer she'd done ages ago and never truly gotten an answer.

She'd already made a flyer for him? That was fast. He waited for the photo to download and clicked on it, cracking a smile almost instantly.

Do you really act that much like a cat? And please tell me you're not using this flyer for me and just replacing the picture with one of me. I don't think I'd make as cute of a kitten as you. He'd sent it so quickly that he didn't realize that he'd sent something rather flirty. All it was missing was a winky face. Not to mention it was totally lame. Julien was someone who gave honest compliments that weren't the daily regurgitated compliments that people gave out everyday such as "I like your shirt," or "You look great." He mostly stayed away from compliments that involved appearance because he found other aspects of people to be much more interesting. There was plenty interesting about Jen, even if she wasnt interested in him. Perhaps she never had been, perhaps it'd just been a phase where she was into curly haired dorks. He didn't know. But he still enjoye being around her.

Jen smiled as her phone rang once again, reading his text quickly. Pff, it seemed he hadn't understood what she'd been trying to tell him. She found it too cute though and she sighed in regret. He hadn't liked her, right? He never kissed her, he never called her, he hadn't even asked her out. Being rejected had hurt, but she'd moved on. Besides, he was still cute and caring and it seemed he still wanted to be friends. She could do that. A person could never have too many friends. She bit on her lower lip though, rereading the last sentence of that message. Did he even realise what he was saying? He'd never called her cute before. He'd called her interesting and funny, which she found herself preferring at the time. Now, though? Well, she figured a combination of both opinions would be better. Couldn't she be interesting while being cute for someone?

You think I'm cute? She typed first, but then shook her head and deleted it. No. She shouldn't dwell on that. It was best to just ignore it or she'd open a wound that'd been healing since they met. So she wrote a new message.

Hehe, well I do purr when I'm happy. ;D But that wasn't why I sent it, silly! I'm looking for a place to live in. HINT HINT.

She sent the message before she could think it over twice. Maybe things would get awkward if they lived together?
