As he sat down in the chair his hand instantly shot over to his sword that was leaning against the edge and ran his fingers over the blade. He'd felt the sharp edge of a sword penetrate him once, and he'd only survived that because of Karalie staying at his side day in, day out. He owed her, he really did and he wanted to repay her, and he even knew what she wanted deep down.. but.. he couldn't offer her that without doing what she didn't want. Even being close to her these days was a bit of a pain as he tried to force himself to think of other things than the way she smelled or looked. The way her eyes were brighter than the moon, the stars. How her smile was prettier than the ocean..
Suddenly he cut himself on the blade and was transported to reality once more. He didn't flinch or pull back his hand, he just slowly lifted it and turned it around so he could see a singular drop of blood run down his finger. It was a good way not to think about her, he noticed. Maybe he'd have to carry the sword with him all the time instead of taking it off every night.
When she called out his name his gaze turned to her, his eyes glancing her body without shame as he took his hand off of his sword though he didn't move from his position on the chair. He nodded slightly and gulped. ''Aye..?'' He answered as he listened to the next few words to come out of her.
Was she.. was she offering him the bed with her in it? She... knew why he stopped the kiss, yes? So the only logical thing to do was for them to stay out of reach of each other, so where would she sleep? Certainly she wouldn't ask him to lie with her in the same bed? Still, with every thought in his head against it and trying to come up with reasons not to his legs felt like he needed to stand up.
He walked towards the bed and Karalie made no moves to get out of the way as he sat down beside her. ''I.. shouldn't..'' He said as he turned his head and looked at her in a sad way. ''I trust ye ta stop me when things be turnin' bad.. but.. ye deserve better.''
''Be 'preciatin' th' offer though.''
