It had been far too long since Glads had been able to just hang out with his best friend, his Momma. Between school and the numerous functions he attended, along with Angie's job and now Glads', time for each other seemed kind of like it was handed out in rations. Which, for the young man, was highly unacceptable. He needed time with his Momma. Hell, he just needed his Momma in general. Besides, she had been working so hard lately, she need a little treat. Which is exactly why at breakfast that morning, he decided then and there that they should spend the day together and the mall seemed like the perfect place.
A little therapy of the shopping variety was just what Glads needed. School had been a little rough lately, not as far as grades, just activities. Cheerleading kept him almost as busy as the Student Activities Council, which seemed like they had something to discuss every week now. Especially with Summer closing in. That mean the Prom and numerous other little events until then. So, a little splurge on something frivolous was definitely in order. Of course, he couldn't speak for Angie, but he assumed she could do with some Vitamin 'Bling'. Or at the very least a new pair of shoes.
Walking around the mall shortly after school was...daunting. Kids everywhere, teenagers too. Some of which Glads knew, others just stared at him. He hated that. The boy did not like the looks that he got. They were either envious or lustful. Both of which he wanted nothing to do with. So, he focused on his mother. At the moment, they were just window shopping. After a quick stop for Glads to grab himself a cherry slushie in the food court naturally. As they passed a certain store, the curly haired youth got a little mischievous grin, but hid it quickly. He noticed something in the window that he would love to buy (and could actually afford) for his Momma.
"So Momma, where ya feeling first today?" He nudged her arm gently. They acted more like friends than child and parent, and honestly, Glads wouldn't have it any other way. "New clothes? Shoes? Something silly just for the heck of it?"
