A Little Sister's Entertainment (Zach)

Life in the Bishop household had always been active, what with the nine children still remaining in the house, but Kailin had been relatively absent for quite a while, her study habits consuming most of her time that she found herself at home. She was graduating soon and though her grades didn't slip, she was determined to finish the school year with a perfect GPA and exams were coming up incredibly soon.

However, even the studious girl needed a break to hang out and mess with some people, and while she could have gone out, she felt it was far more entertaining to torment the souls in her home. Specifically speaking, Zachary Bishop.

Running down the stairs towards the living room, the blonde made no move to remain quiet in her own home, much to some of her sibling's dismay. Kales was sure she could hear Lady Bitch herself yelling for her to shut up.

"Zach! Zach! Zach, come quick!" She offered at the end of the stairs, searching for her brother around the corner.

It was amazing that anyone even remembered that Zach still lived here. As in, that he still had a room here, that this was his physical address and supposedly the place where he was to come home to at the end of the day. But he’d been spending so many night’s at Kai’s over the past several months, he was certain some thought he’d officially move in with him.

The thought had been on his mind, he had to admit.

The deciding factor was…would he actually get more or less peace and quiet living with Kai than he would living at home with his many, many siblings? There was also the fact that Kai had moved into a house that was essentially across the street….peace and quiet was forever an impossibility for the introverted writer, wasn’t it?

He couldn’t even get through a good book without someone romping down the stairs and screaming his name. “What? What? What is it!?” he mocked in a soft falsetto, not bothering to look up from his book.

Kailin had been well aware of her own brother’s absence, although she wondered where exactly he was spending that time; as it were, Zach didn’t really do much. In the beginning, she thought he had actually gotten a life, but then she wondered if he was just spending all his time at work. If that were the case, she could admire that. Kailin had been doing plenty of working lately, and it was an easy and sure fire way of getting away from everything. However, as time progressed and the days started turning to nights, she had to wonder what guy had his hands on her brother, then the thought had come to her - Asian Santa. Kailin had asked about him a few times, and sometimes he would blush and shoo her away, but then others he’d rage, which meant there had to be something more than just friendship, right?

But then again, what would she know? She couldn’t even keep her own boyfriend.

“Oh come on, Spiderman. The least you could do is look at me when you sound like a pre-pubescent teenager. Makes it easier to hear you.” Her arms crossed and settled against the back of the couch and her head tilted slightly to see the book settled in his grasp. Voice lowered as her lips were closer to his ear.

“Psst Zach, about Asian Santa,” Kales grinned then, “Are you going to propose to him, or is he going to propose to you?”

Work. Yes. Of course. The only reason Zach ever left home was for work. Not school. Not because he had friends(or a boyfriend of all things!), but for work. Did anyone actually pay attention to him, or had he developed the secret meta power of invisibility?

Whatever. Zach rolled his eyes at the irritating nickname. He’d told them over and over again not to call him that….it was pointless to do it again, no doubt. “Uh-huh….” he uttered apathetically. This was a really good book. He wasn’t going to let his little sister, of all people, ruin it for him because of some random thing she wanted to show off. Probably clothes or a new hat or shoes or something. “Why don’t you ask Claudia to look instead….?” She could even offer advice on how tacky Kailin’s choices were, if need be. Zach was clearly no help in that area, considering the holes in his jeans.

He’d hoped that would deter her from bothering him. He should have known better, though. Did anything ever get these kids off his back? Zach jerked and twisted around to look at his little sister with wide eyes. “W-wh…why do you think….he’s not….” Throughout his stumbling, Zach’s face became more and more flushed. “Why are you asking about that!?” he flustered. “That’s none of your business anyway!” He turned away and tried to bury himself back into his book, curling his legs up to the cushions and against his chest. “I’m…can’t you see I’m busy? G-go bother JJ if you’re bored.”
