Miami Beach, FloridaSociety if given the chance had always found a way to ruin the joys of life and push for more 'conservative' actions, as the flappers came to prominence and the nightlife only excelled. Parents were appalled by the scene of shorter dresses, cropped hair and what they seemed to be the worst thing of all - Jazz music. All had been a prominent figure in the young woman's life, except in this case there was no one to tell her to stop.
With her family gone, there was only so much the woman could do except take herself to the parties and steal the eyes of those surrounding her with the consistent string of drinks she both offered and taken. Some may have said the alcohol was toxic and deadly, but they knew nothing of the cathartic relief that the substance could bring, how it did nothing but make the lights brighter and the music louder.
How it did much for her to forget about the troubles of her current life, she wasn't quite sure, but it was a relief, even to her. There was an ulterior motive hidden behind the lights of the underground, however, and in that being said, she was quite observant even in her slightly intoxicated state. The clubs were prime real estate for those ingrained into the anti-prohibition cartel that was based primarily in the Miami area. Words were definitely spent in areas such as this, and in that way it gave the 19 year old a way to collect her own sparse information.
Rya knew, however, that should she even begin to offer justice to her family that lay in the rich soils of the everglades, there was quite a lot to learn. How she was going to do that, she wasn't unable to say. But passing from man to man in a dance was quite an easy way to keep her mind off of it all for the moment.
