Zeb was relaxing on the couch in his dorm apartment, waiting for the new pot of coffee to finish, and reading a poetry magazine. He'd already made his rounds for the night. Meaning he'd popped his head in to check on the kids he knew were having a hard time and made his presence known to those who were set on giving him a hard time. Though truthfully, Zeb had a bad habit of letting most things slide. Though he could put his foot down when it was really called for, as long as no one was in danger of getting hurt (physically or emotionally) Zeb had the philosophy that sometimes you just had to let kids be kids.
He hoped that this helped him to be more approachable when someone (students and co-workers alike) actually needed help, advice, or just someone to chat with. Though maybe it just made him look incapable of disciplining.
He was just finishing up a poem when he heard a knock on the door. "Come on in," he called out without bothering to get up from the couch. Zeb strongly believed in an open door policy and hardly ever even bothered to lock his door. "Give me just a second," he added when he heard someone open the door and walk in, finishing up the line he was on before looking up to see who it was.
