Looking for peace (Open)

Yuriwalked down to the common room from her dorm room. She was tired of sitting in her room, summer break was on it’s way though, and she was pretty excited about it. She had been put in her classes as soon as she got here, which was about a week ago? She kind of lost track anyways… She thought it was weird that they still gave her classes and stuff even though it was so close to the end of the school year. Well, maybe it wasn’t weird the more she thought about it. She still hadn’t finished her school year yet.



Even though she has only been here for a week, she didn’t know where anything was still, while her brother tried to show her around, she still couldn’t remember much of it. It was such a big campus. This is why she stuck to just going to the common room.



Sitting on the couch she sighed, it was the weekend, and it was pretty early in the morning so no one was around. Yuri would be lying to herself if she said she wasn’t afraid. Because the fact was, she was completely afraid. It was such a big change moving here, she didn’t know if anyone was going to like her, or if she was going to make any friends. What the hell would even happen if Nao ended up not liking her anymore? That thought alone scared her; Nao was the last person she wanted to disappoint.



She got an idea though, maybe her tarot cards could help ease her some. She went through her bag and pulled out her deck of cards and started shuffling. She wondered if anyone else at the school would be interested in tarot card readings… Or would they all just think she was weird? If someone came in and wanted a reading, she wouldn’t mind giving it to them.

Rachel had been up for hours. She had been outside practicing her ballet. Hence the huge duffel bag that she was carrying. She had changed out of her old clothes and into her new ones before re-entering the dorms. She pulled her hoodie's hood over her head as she walked. Her roommates probably thought she was crazy, getting up early on a weekend and practicing. In actuality it was one of the only things she had that was keeping her sane.

The ballet was helping her get through the stress of finals weeks. She was not ready for the term to be over and she was not ready for all of the projects to be due. She really didn't like english, and there were tests in science and math that would determine half of her grade. She was just tired of it.

But the fact of the matter was that Hammel with tests were still better than the fact that she couldn't go with her dad, whom would normally had custody of her. As she walked bt the common room Rachel noticed there was another girl in there. The girl seemed a bit lonely as she sat on the couch and Rachel wondered if she was new. If she was it sucked that there was only a few weeks left before break, but still.

Deciding against going back to her room, which had projects and papers and studying, Rachel instead went into the common room and went over to the couch. "Mind if I sit here? There's a show coming on soon." Rachel didn't have her own tv in her room so she relied on the common room's. Then she noticed the cards. "Oh! Are those Tarot Cards? I've read a bunch about them in mythology." She smiled over at the other girl. "I'm Rachel."

Yuri naturally got up at this hour, sometimes even earlier, just because she was still used to having to babysit her younger siblings. She wondered if this was something that she would get over sooner or later. Though she was wondering if she should get into some after school stuff, but she didn’t feel like she was passionate enough to do anything more than a few hours once for one thing. Maybe hammel would change that, or maybe she could get a job? Or well maybe… would she be too young?

Yuri didn’t have anything like that to keep her sane, well other than the heart of the cards. Maybe that’s something else she could try doing, playing yu-gi-oh or magic the gathering cards. She felt like she was good with cards anyways.. She wondered if the school had those types of clubs?


She looked up as she heard another girl’s voice. “Hmm? Oh! Of course. I can leave if you want me to?” She didn’t want to be a bother to someone who usually came here to watch tv. Not that she would really make much noise but she could still be a distraction. She grinned when the girl asked, “Yes! I love them, they kind of help me a lot… Do you want a reading? Just ask a question; the more vague it is though the better chance you have to understand the cards.” She held out her hand, “I’m Yuri, It’s nice to meet you.”
