General Appearance: Looking quite young for his age, Min is a 17-year old Korean with a typical 'K-Pop boy' appearance. His skinny yet lean build make him seem shorter, however he is 6"0. Long hair covers the side of his face, the forehead and the back of his head, however his ears are easy to spot. His hair seems jet black in the dark or away from light. However, his hair appears with a red shade in the light.
His skinny build does not weigh him down and should allow him to move quickly and react to actions abnormally quick. Yet, his body suffers under musculoskeletal disorder and is damaged lightly. This disorder can affect his whole body, however his arms and hands are often restrained due to his overdoing of experiments with his shadows.
He wears dark clothes more often than light clothes in order to make a similar appearance between his own body and his shadow. He prefers hoodies and long-neck shirts over t-shirts or shorts. Jeans are not his preference, however he will wear them if he must. He, overall, prefers to wear dark sweatpants or loose pants (No, not a low-rider).
Personality: Min can be very cold, however does hold some warm feelings for people he can understand. Often tired with insomnia, Min seems to be a lazy and almost 'dead' person at first glance. Yet, he only respects and gives attention to humans that can befriend and understand his situations.
Often being restrained by splints due to his musculoskeletal disorder, Min's movement is restricted. Due to this unfortunate fate, he is often bitter and feels a sense of uselessness. He does not enjoy being restrained of his own body, and will be in a very bad mood whenever his disorder somewhat intensifies or targets an important function of his body.
He will treat friends with a bit of kindness and acknowledgment, however will not treat nor speak, nor attend to stranger's demands.Your VicesLikes:Color - Dark colors in general. Any Other Important People: NoneHistoryBeing born, Min, as a child, was a seemingly very cheerful kid. However, his child-birth caused something that split apart his family: the death of his mother. After a painful and tiring experience from having Min born, Min's old mother passed away on the same bed when she gave birth to her newborn son. Min's older sister, Sun, mourned her mother, as his father went into depression. Due to his drinking issues after his wife's death, Min's father ended up creating horrible bonds and lies, leading to his assassination. Witnessing this surprising kill in the dark, 4-year-old Min began to back away from the dead body, with fear. Appearing in front of him, the unidentifiable killer only glanced at Min, smirked, and disappeared.At the end of the day, Sun rushed home only to find poor Min beside his dead father. Scooping him up, Sun reassured Min that everything would be alright, and that his father's death was an unlucky coincidence. Yet, Sun truly did not care about the death of her father. She believed that it was her father's own fault, to why he died. He received his ultimatum at the cost of his own foolish decisions: death.Teaching and raising Min for the next few years was an issue to his older sister. Living in a Korean farm, food and water was no problem. However, it took a toll on her time to study more of her own ability and her stress levels. After the death of Min's father, Sun attempted to teach him a sole lesson: to work hard for survival. Due to this sole lesson, he mindlessly overworked himself trying to help his sister with manual chores. This, was because Sun was affected by Myopathy, a disease passed down by the family.Sun believed that if she revealed her own powers, Min would recognize the killer, and could potentially distance himself from her. Crushed by the thought, she never revealed or practiced her shadow manipulation techniques in front of Min. She would never reveal it, unless, she found out that Min somehow did possess abilities.At age of 10, he was diagnosed with several musculoskeletal disorders including Carpal tunnel syndrome, Arthritis, and Myopathy. Shocked by this outcome, Sun did not allow Min to aid her with her chores. She would not allow her brother to fall so easily. After that age, he began to wear a black splint on his hand permanently. Yet, he does wear other splints from time to time on other body parts due to the other musculoskeletal disorders other than Carpal tunnel syndrome.Beginning to understand why Min overworked often, Min's older sister began to properly teach him her views of the world and many other valuable assets contributing to his mental development, and to prevent him from overworking himself dangerously. Thanks to Sun, Min had been able to develop new thoughts in his minds, and began to think more selfishly and less selflessly.A few weeks after Min's short 11th birthday, he encountered a strange phenomenon. A sudden, sharp pain split his head. Staggering from the pain, Min fell to the hard ground, only to notice his shadow was not facing him in the scientifically correct direction. Standing up, he approached his shadow in confusion. In comparison to the past, he noticed a lot that was different about this shadow. It looked....exactly like him. Facial features, splint, everything. It was even wearing the same black shirt he was wearing. He wished he could touch the wall, or rather touch the shadow. However, his right hand was restrained in a splint. In disgust he kicked the wall in anguish and only sulked.Suddenly, the shadow's right hand twitched, and moved it's fingers freely. The same hand with a splint.Astonished, Min only watched as the shadow gave him a smile. Aside from his discovery, the pain disappeared. This shadow was like...his twin.After Min's manifestation, Sun discovered Min trying to interact with his shadow. At first, Sun merely thought he was just having fun by himself. However, after a few minutes of observation, she noticed it was clear that Min had manifested a new ability, the same ability Sun held on her own: Shadow Manipulation. This shadow, however, didn't look like it was under control. It seemed more animated.A few days later, Min's older sister took a risk and decided to reveal the fact that she was a shadow manipulator, as he was. Using her shadow and splitting it into various parts, Min's older sister accomplished all her manual chores in a mere few minutes. Surprised, Min demanded that he know why he was never revealed her power earlier on in his life. Releasing a playful sneer, Sun told him everything would make sense, once he was sent to a facility for manifested students, as she was in the past.In a week, two men approached Sun's house. Expecting their arrival, Sun welcomed them and asked if they were the agents of Hammel Institute. To her surprise, they introduced themselves as agents of Hammel Institute's sister school, Essai Gakko. They explained to her that considering their school was the closest, he may enter this school and stay or he may transfer to Hammel Institute if he wished. Unfortunately, considering his years in South Korea for his whole life, he did not understand a word these agents said. Luckily, Sun knew how to speak fluent Japanese, and thus translated for Min. After understanding, Min recognized what he wanted. Taking this opportunity to learn more about himself and experience what it is like to be around other students with various abilities, Min accepted his recruitment and decided to leave for the academy the next day.The day arrived soon, and Min managed to gather his necessary luggage. Giving him a good pat, Sun wished him farewell, and backed away from his transport vehicle with a few of her shadows around her. However, as Min glanced back, he realized there was a familiar-looking person beside his sister. Someone....smirking. But this was no person. This...looked like one of her shadows.****It's been 3 years exactly, after his manifestation and recruitment to Essai Gakko. 14-year-old Min had difficulties in this school at first due to his inability to speak Japanese, and could not interact with nearly all of the students in the Japanese school. He remained alone often, and began to prefer the dark over the happy sunlight. He managed to learn to speak fluent Japanese, and a bit of Chinese off of other Chinese students he met.After careful consideration, Min did not like being bound and linked to the Japanese government and the military. It annoyed him to the point that he decided to follow his sister's suggestion, and transfer to Hammel Institute. The only thing that interested and allowed him to develop his powers freely was an abandoned facility nearby the campus. He decided to take the time to learn English on his third year to prepare for Hammel Institute.Soon, he applied for the Foreign Exchange event, and successfully moved to Hammel Institute.
Min, now 17, studies at Hammel with some diligence, and some laziness. Yet, he does have very little difficulties understanding lessons due to his single year of experience with English. He succeeds very well in two classes, and does terribly in the other two classes. Min often falls asleep in the morning classes, however does get scolded for his irresponsibility. He does not interact with the Hammel society often, yet does hope he can find someone who understands a bit about himself. He now only wears the splint on his wrist, yet does sometimes injure himself in training, adding a few other splints on his other limbs. Min remains in the library often, in the dark corner where he can blend in with the shadow, and attempt to communicate with his own (which always end in failures). He tries to interact with his shadow often outside of the library too, however cannot understand a word or action it says or accomplishes.
Roleplay Example
Shrugging his shoulders, he lifted his legs back up and positioned his feet.
"Well...damn that. I can't believe I just lost a vital piece to completing this S-2 weapon prototype. Anyhow...I guess I've got to find another way to get those two pieces together".
He started to space out. This usually happened, whenever Titan would screw up and forget something he had to do. He held a dazed look, and stared out the window. For five seconds.
Suddenly, a chill went up and around his body. He 'Brrred', as it started to cool down, and came back to earth. Titan blinked once. Then twice. Then he went back to what he was doing.
"Let's see...ah, yes. I could use that for this model. Then maybe this....Ah! It works well. How convenient. Then maybe...", he continued on. He acted as if nothing had happened, but this strategy worked well whenver Titan had met a new problem. He'd find the answer pretty quickly after a few seconds of cooldown time.
Once he had completed assembling, screwing, adding, and adjusting parts, he pulled something out of an old cardboard box. It looked like some kind of limiter...but had been adjusted. Quickly plling out the pin of the adjusted limiter, he jabbed the sharp point into the eye of the helicopter-robot hybrid, and suddenly, the eye gleamed red. He smiled. This was simply a prototype, but it looked like it was working well. Placing the limiter into the box, he grinned again.
"Now...to enlargen such a creation. I wonder how we're going to manage that, this time?", he noted.
Grinning at the prototype, that was now moving, he turned to his blueprints again. Wiping off the dust that had gathered on his shoulders of the bartender uniform, he started to place notes and sketches into it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jotting the final notes down, he slammed the pen back onto the wide, wooden counter, and turned to the window again. This time, he didn't daze out.
"Hm. The view is grand. I guess even the ones in the junkyard can see such a sight".
