'Tis the Season- Charity Projects

It's that time of year, and I know I'm not the only one looking for ways to give back. Hammel is such a great community, and here is a chance for all of the members to share links to charities and ways to help others. If you have a cause you'd like to advertise, just link to them here.

Here's mine:
Freerice.com- Freerice is a basic vocabulary game. Each time you answer a question, the page refreshes, and each answer you get right donates ten grains of rice through the World Food Program. The ads on the page pay for the donated rice, and in five minutes you can donate five bowls, or more. You can also set it to various languages, math problems, geography, or art questions.

So Hammelites, if there's something you want to get out there, please let us know. And thank you to Bells (Annabell C.) for kicking this off.

ON a similar vein The Hunger Site donates a cup of food per click. Up at the top you can see links to charities that do a similar thing. Charity is only a click away!

I have a lot I can offer to you guys. All are safe, all of which I've used before as well.

-Simple and easy, click on the buttons for each cause to give freely to the assorted organizations.-
Cup of Joe for the Joe
-Very convenient, giving coffee to troops overseas for Christmas or anytime of the year. Each cup is $2, give as much or as little as you wish! You can even write a not of thanks and remembrance if you wish.-
The Wild Dolphin Foundation
-The WDF is a great site that I personally wish to get involved with more directly after I get my degree in Marine Ecology and Animal Behaviorism, but you can give as little or as much as you'd like.-
World Wildlife Fund
-Same deal here, although this is a bit more widespread and known among people. WWF accepts all donations, as any money is good money, and can help out.-
Charity:Water
-This organization uses the donations for providing third world countries with fresh, clean water. In addition, they build wells and provide education for safe water methods. Any donation is accepted.-

I'll come back with more later, but those are a few of the ones I personally like.

Well I'm about to totally whore myself out for charity but in August I did the Out of Darkness Walk for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. I'm still raising money for it until the end of December. I have a goal of $500 and I'm $275 short. So if you could donate here: link That would be awesome!
