General Appearance: Victor is a tall, tall man, standing at a full height of 6’5”. While he used to be in stupendous shape in his younger years, time has whittled down his formerly toned torso and arms into a lessened version of themselves, accompanied by a not quite unattractive layer of padding in his abdomen. His hair too used to be full of brilliant brown threads, though now all that color has faded into grey and silver strands which doesn’t quite cover the whole of his head. Despite his years and the work they’d done on his appearance, Victor still considers himself an ‘attractive sonnofa bitch’, claiming that the wrinkles that line his eyes, brow, and smile offer him a look of distinguishment that one can’t find in the youth of today(and by youth, he means anyone younger than himself). He also claims that the white moustache settled above his upper lip adds to his pleasing aesthetics and charm one hundred fold! Though in reality, he knows he’s just an old man yearning for another chance at living young again.
During work, he likes to keep things casual. As in, he doesn’t like wearing the uniform unless he absolutely has to, for public appearances and the like, or official business. At the department office, Victor will go business casual, with neutral colored slacks and suit jacket, usually with a pale colored shirt underneath. He prefers light blue and white, but sometimes will be adventurous and go with periwinkle or sunshine yellow. Wearing the same boring colors day in and day out deserves that sort of variety in such a stiff job as his, so he likes to extend that adventure to include ties of any variety...when he feels like wearing one(he doesn’t like things around his neck, he says the feeling of wearing a tie is an ominous one). Casually, Victor is just fine with jeans and a shirt that fits, ranging from a t-shirt, to a polo shirt, to a button-up buttoned-up to only the third button from the top. Yes, he is a sir who tucks in his shirts. He has no preference for shoes so long as they fit his large feet and give him the support he needs to do whatever he needs to do in them. They usually end up white or black. With mismatched socks, though that’s because he lacks personal organization at home rather than it being an attempt at a fashion statement.
Personality: Victor has a number of years on the police force, having battled his way down from being a patrol officer all the way up to being the captain of his precinct. He’s a friendly guy, and the boss who tries to be ‘one of the guys’ with his squadron officers. The annoying kind of boss. That doesn’t mean he’s any sort of incompetent though, Victor is just the opposite. His experience makes him a very serious guy when necessary. He has a very open sense of humor, often times dark, and may quip a joke at an inopportune time, deriving bewildered stares from co-workers. Victor’s philosophy is that the world is too full of dark and depressing things to be focused on those 24/7 and that one needs to know how to take some things lightly if only to maintain one’s sanity in the face of so many dark and depressing things.
While on the force, especially during his earlier years just out of the academy, Victor got a very hard look at reality, seeing one horrible circumstance after another. It’s from this that he has gained a rather good understanding of people, capable of empathizing when need be and offering a little something to hopefully make the person smile. Because sometimes people need to be given something to smile about when the rest of the world is completely out of their control.
It’s those dark times that also give him an air of caution around people as well, victims and offenders alike. Because one never knew what a person might do in a desperate situation, no matter how calm and composed they may seem. Everyone is capable of turning south, he believes, though similarly, he also believes that everyone is capable of being decent as well. There is no fine line, like many would like to believe. There is no ‘good guys’ and ‘bad guys’, only people, some who have made more mistakes than others. Maybe it’s a naive view, but it’s gotten him this far in life, so Victor has little reason to not maintain these ideals of his. His view on metas is no different. Some are bad, some are good, some are worse than others. Its that you can’t tell who is going to be hostile that keeps him on his toes, a little more so around meta-humans simply because they are capable of fantastical things that normal humans might not be able to defend against. He has nothing against meta-humans, he has many close friends who are very law-abiding meta-humans, though that doesn’t mean he disregards the growing tension between both groups. Groups which have been physically forming into groups of either one or the other. Meta-supremacists, anti-meta hate groups, etc etc….the mere existence of one or the other is cause for him keeping a close eye on the community with the hope of quelling any conflicts which may arise between the two. We all want to live, and live in peace, so why can’t we?
In his personal life, Victor is a person who straddles the line between introversion and extroversion. He loves the company of others, but only when he he’s not feeling like being alone, in his home that once housed his wife and children. He says he gets enough company while on the job, and considering how much of a workaholic he is, when he’s not on duty, he prefers to spend it alone, at home, with a tv dinner and sitcom on the television. While it’s not rare for him to go out during his time off, he usually does it alone or with one or two friends that he can speak with as equals, usually over a well-needed drink.
Victor is overall a friendly guy, though he unconsciously keeps people at a distance. Victor does care a great deal about his loved ones and would do anything to make them happy, but his work will always come first. It’s even at the point where he will use work as an excuse to not interact with his family or friends(though his only family these days is his daughter who hasn’t spoken to him in five years for these reasons).Your VicesLikes:

Not so much a secret, but he doesn’t advertise it. Victor has shot people in the line of duty and one of them was fatal. He feels guilty about it to this day, because he doesn’t think it was necessary for him to take the shot, even though IBA ruled it as justified, though also ordered him into therapy for ptsd on account of his experiences in the military.Family TiesFather: Richard M. Price (deceased)
Mother: Joyce R. Price(deceased)
Siblings: Andy Thomas Price(brother, 55)
Any Other Important People:Stephanie Price(daughter, 34, unmarried, works narcotics for the LAPD), Madison Price(Wife, divorced)HistoryRichard and Joyce were childhood friends and grew up in the same small town just outside of Eastport, Maine. Victor had just been born(Feb 15, 1951) when Richard started his career in law enforcement, taking on the job of deputy for the small district and eventually was appointed sheriff several years(try 10) into his career. Of course, growing up, Victor had to be the rebellious child simply to spite his father. He was always getting into trouble - smoking, a few drugs here and there, fights, truancy, and whatever else he thought he could get away with. And of course, because he was the sheriff’s son, he often did, though only through the law. As a father, Richard made sure the boy paid his dues in the form of physical punishment. This did little to deter Victor from his tirade, however. It simply made it worse and made Victor resent his father right up until he finally graduated high school(somehow). Immediately after that, he left that town and joined the army, like many other kids were doing just to get away from whatever pre-determined destiny small-town living had in store for them.
It was 1969, and the US was still deploying soldiers to Vietnam. Victor had grown up hearing about the war, and envisioned glorious fights and romanticized kinship with his brothers-in-arms. After training in transport services(88M), he was deployed to serve his tours in Vietnam. He experienced the fights and kinship he dreamed about, but it was hardly the grandiose adventure he expected it to be. He suffered minor injuries, a bullet wound to the leg and shoulder, one sustained during a routine operation - but his ‘brothers’ suffered far worse. When he healed from these injuries, Victor was deployed again and served straight through the US finally evacuating their troops, assisting with those operations as ordered, until he finally returned stateside in 1976. He was 25 years old and was honorably discharged from the army.
With nowhere else to go, Victor returned to his hometown in Maine only to find that his father had died a few years before from a heart attack. Having never properly reconciled with his father, Victor decided to enter the police academy for their 12 week training course. He stayed with his mother for a few years until he decided to once again leave his small hometown in search of a more exciting life. He transferred to the NYPD in 1979.
While working in the downtown Manhattan district, Victor met Madison, a legal assistant fro the DA’s office. Soon after they met, he found that she’d recently broken up with her boyfriend(he’d been cheating on her with her sister) and Victor was there to console her in the aftermath. One thing let to another and soon they started dating seriously. In the summer of 1980, the two were married in Central Park. Almost a year later, their daughter, Stephanie Price, was born.
For the next several years, Victor worked for the NYPD, first working as a beat officer, then applying for whichever department would take him. He wanted very much to rise through the ranks and figured nothing was going to happen if he just sat around and waited for it. Unfortunately, he would have to wait several years before this happened. More unfortunately, he would find himself injured again while on duty during a response to a domestic violence call. He was the first officer to respond and radioed in for backup when it was revealed that the offender had a gun. Victor made a bad call and entered the scene before his backup arrived, and ended up getting shot in the torso. Even though he was down, Victor was still able to fire off one round towards the gunman before he could shoot his girlfriend, effectively killing the man. Luckily, Victor did not lose his life, however after he recovered from his injury, he was put on paid-leave while IBA investigated the event. Although in the end they ruled it justified, it still weighs heavy on Victor’s conscience.
After the shooting incident, Victor threw himself into his work, determined to make up for his blunder. Consequently, he rose through the ranks throughout the years, though his tendency to put his work first put a strain between himself and his family until his wife Madison finally filed for divorce. She took everything. Even the dog. While he tried to maintain a relationship with his daughter after Madison left, it was a struggle and the two drifted apart, only seeing each other every other holiday and sending holiday cards when they remembered.
With no one else in his life to live for, Victor threw himself even more into his work until one day he collapsed from heart trouble, landing him once again in the hospital. He was required to have heart-surgery in order to fix the problem, which left him unable to return to work for a much longer time than he was comfortable with. Victor nearly quit on account of being unable to move as he once did. Instead, his chief convinced him to stay on the force and to take a low-key, but high profile assignment in Vermont. Victor considered the offer throughout his entire recovery time in the hospital, and finally accepted upon his release. Victor has been the Captain of the precinct overseeing Pilot Ridge for the past five years, keeping an eye on the growing tensions between its human and meta human populations.Roleplay Example
