The Details

Any Piercings?No
Any Tattoos?No

General Appearance: Maddy is around 5'4 and she weighs 150 lbs. She has rich brown hair and blue gray eyes which are located somewhat far apart. She has a round, heart-shaped face. Her skin is incredibly oily however with some acne.
Maddy is built very solidly with her average height though she doesn't have much of a bust size. She has wide hips and wide shoulders and somewhat of a stocky build. She has big, round bones where bones would be prominent. The less said about her teeth, the better. They're spaced out a little too far for her liking and she'd really like to get some orthodontic work on her teeth because there is so much spacing between her individual teeth. She'd like braces to put them together more evenly. She has a slightly upturned nose and some freckles across her face. She has long fingers and toes to the point that she's able to pick things up with her toes and pinch people.
Maddy typically wears t-shirt and jeans or tank tops with fuzzy sweaters over them. The jean she liked to wear tend to be dark in color and boot-cut. She likes to wear a pair of hiking books or knee-high black leather boots her aunt bought for her a year ago. In warm weather, Maddy wears sandals and short shorts along with her ever-present t-shirts and tank tops. Her favorite t-shirts have superheroes or the cat from PePe Le Pew on them with sassy sayings. Her favorite tank tops are either similar to the t-shirts or similar in color. Maddy gets cold easily when she uses her power too much causing her to dress warmly most of the time.
Personality:Maddy is a loud introverted sort. She's used to having to deal with people, having grown up in a large-ish community and she usually does this by pretending to be more stupid and superficial than she actually is. She doesn't try less hard in school or anything, she just puts up a front of being pretty carefree and not very intelligent because she used to get picked on in school for being a bit of a know-it-all and she figured dumber people had more fun. She has fun with it and acts a bit like a "cloudcuckoolander".
In short, she plays a role. That role is that of a person who isn't very intelligent or insightful. A person who has fun wherever she goes and sees the best in people at all times. She plays the role of a person who sees ridiculous explanations to everything and autoomatically believes in them for no other reason than they seem plausible to her.
In reality, Maddy sees that the way she behaves probably isn't very healthy and leads to people making more fun of her than they would otherwise, but she's quietly mocking them in her own head and through her own behavior. Besides, they aren't really rejecting Maddy when she acts the way she does. They're rejecting a role she plays for their benefit because they wouldn't like or appreciate the real her anyways. People who actually try to get to know the real Maddy will eventually meet the real Maddy with time. The Maddy who is quiet, clever, and book smart. The Maddy who knows a lot about a lot of different things. The Maddy who takes jokes to a whole new level and can be quite sarcastic when the mood strikes her.

History
Maddy was born fourteen years ago on February 2, 2001 to Lindsay Michelle Andrews in Dayton, Ohio. From a young age she knew not to expect much from her birth father who wasn't around at the best of times and tried to play games and buy her affection at the worst of times usually taking her on expensive outings when he felt like having a daughter and ignroing her the rest of the time. Maddy was smart enough that she could see through him from the time she was about five years old when she was getting picked on by the other kids at school and her father was nowhere to be seen to help her and when he was around he blamed her for the treatment she received rather than sympathizing with her. He said she should make more of an effort to be sociable. Maddy's mom and Maddy were incredibly close being the two of them against the world pretty much all the time. Lindsay spoiled Maddy letting her read whatever she wanted, do pretty much whatever sturck her fancy and let Maddy get away with a lot as a young child.
Maddy spent most of her early child knowing she was a singular young girl who could list all the different versions of Cinderella and explain the key differences as well as mention what her favorites were. She could also do the same with Snow White and The Little Mermaid. Maddy's favorite fairytale as a child was East of the Sun and West of the Moon. Her favorite children's books were written by Edward Eager such as Half-Magic. Her favorite Disney Movie was Beauty and the Beast. She never grew out of her love for these things.
When Maddy was five years old, she began school and that's when her life changed forever. At home she was the center of attention and the apple of her mother's eye. At school, life quickly became a different story. She was treated with contempt and anger by her classmates because of her pretentions of knowing everything. Maddy couldn't change their view of her as an insufferable know-it-all no matter how much she retreated into herself or tried to make friends. Her classmates would just ignore her at the best of times and mock or laugh at her at the worst of times. When Maddy's mom met Morgan Peters at a Sunday school picnic, Maddy's life was forever put on a new course as Lindsay and Morgan fell in love and got married within the year. Maddy gained a new father who was more understanding and two new siblings as well as a new chance at a new school in Huber Heights, Ohio.
This time, Maddy decided to cast off her know-it-all behavior and act the complete opposite way, like someone who didn't know much but had fun anyways. She soon found out that in this new role, she had a lot of fun as well. People made fun of her, but she made fun of them as well... in her own private way. The teachers exclaimed about how "social" and "outgoing" Maddy was. Maddy's birth father felt he'd succeeded in bringing her around to be more like him. Maddy's mother was worried by some of the comments from the teachers, but Maddy's grades were still the same. Maddy finally found her niche as the class oddball who said strange things and seemed to have fun no matter what. All was right in Maddy's world.
Then, Maddy's mom became pregnant when Maddy was eight years old and she'd been at her new school for two years. At first, Maddy saw it as another thing to separate her from her mother as her mother's time was taken away further by the baby, but Maddy soon learned and felt she could share things with her youngest sibling that she couldn't share with her step-siblings no matter how close they became. Maddy took to reading everything she read to her little sister from the time her little sister could understand words. Maddy also would watch movies with her little sister and did everything she could to thoroughly corrupt her little sister.
It came as a surprise for the whole family when Maddy first exhibited her ability when she was thirteen years old, turning into a liquid state when she took a stumble down some stairs. No one else in the family was known to have meta-human abilities. Her step-siblings and littlest sister was scared for her, afraid she'd be taken away and experimented upon. Even Maddy was scared. However, when the recruiters showed up from the Hammel Institute only six days later, the fear vanished and was replaced with a feeling of expectation. Maddy would be able to start a new school and a new adventure, one that no one in her family had even been on before. Maddy began to plot her fabulous arrival at the Hammel Institute. With the ability to start a new school all over again, Maddy planned everything down to the t-shirt and long skirt she'd be wearing on her first day of school. She planned how she'd act (dotty and a little strange, but intelligent and hard-working) and what phrases she'd use. She didn't make friends right away, but she soon had a small cluster of close-to-not-so-distant friends.
Roleplay Example
Here's something for a post I wrote on another site to open the thread up. In it, Pippa Poole ends up going through a mysterious magic door in her bathrobe.
Pippa calmly wiped the tears from her eyes and relaxed further into her bathtub with the bubbles all around her, hiding anyt impropriety from anyone who would see, not that anyone would because she was alone. These days she was always alone.
Always alone...
Her friend Cecelia had abandonned her when she'd needed a friend most. Her uncle, the closest thing to a father figure had died--killed himself--and her friend was upset with her because she couldn't open her heart to another person right away. Her friend had the gall to blame her and treat her like a pariah just because she couldn't fall in love with the first person she met after her uncle had died.
And then... Thomas. He'd been everything she'd ever wanted. She'd been there for him through thick and thin. When he tried to push her away, this time she decided she wasn't going to let him do it. But... he'd pushed her away anyhow.
She got on her cell phone and looked at his profile.
What was wrong with her?
Why did everyone have to leave?
Then she spotted it. Thomas is in a relationship with Cecelia Henderson.
Thomas had just started a relationship with Cecelia.
How long ago did that happen? When had that started? Was that why he'd distanced himself from her? Had Cecelia poisoned him against her? Was she poison all along? What had she done to deserve this?
The tears came fresh now. Pippa slammed her phone down on the small wooden endtable next to her bathtub. She wiped her tears roughly from her face, trying to keep herself from crying anymore over those two... traitors.
Was this all life was? Abandonment and betrayal?
Well, Pippa wanted no more part of that!
She was tired of being stabbed in the back and treated like a damnedable fool by everyone in her life. She was tired of trying so hard to seem normal, to be like everyone else when everyone else was so cold and horrible.
Pippa made her decision.
It was really easy when she thought about it. Trying didn't work. Being there for people didn't work. Being normal didn't work. Being herself would never work. The best thing was for her not to be. Then she could have a new life. A new beginning in some sort of afterlife where she could hopefully find some happiness.
Pippa stood up in her bathtub and let out the drain. She dried herself off very thoroughly and donned her robe. First, she needed to get supplies to do it. Pippa opened the door and found herself to be completely elsewhere.
At first Pippa wondered if she had been successful and she was in Heaven or Hell or the lobby of some sort of afterlife, but she couldn't remember how she'd gotten there. Wouldn't she remember what she'd done to herself to get to here... wherever that was?
