Kodi honestly didn’t care (couldn’t care) about any relationship woes that Oriel might or might not be dealing with. Well… Okay, that wasn’t exactly true, he cared about the younger boy, and had somehow started to like Phoenix enough not to roll his eyes at their relationship, but whatever past-nonsense he had dealing with Rue was just… Stupid. If he knew it had been him that had beat up his friend, he would have been pissed at the guy. Whatever. Kodi sighed dramatically and rolled his eyes at Oriel’s vanity. “I guess it’ll make you stand out more in a sea of men with perfect noses,” he quipped back, feeling some of his familiar snark returning. Of course Oriel was gorgeous, but he wouldn’t say that out loud.
He wasn’t looking all that graceful and pretty, though, when he was toppling over into the bushes from his bike. Kodi snickered and laughed quietly at the sight, for a few moments forgetting his own woes and struggles. “If you ain’t done it before, it can be hard. That’s why kids use trainin’ wheels, idiot.” He wondered if he should actually go in and ask for some, if they wanted to get further than a few feet on their little trip. How quickly could Oriel catch on? Didn’t it take most kids, like, weeks? He couldn’t remember. “Alright, alright, quit your whinin’,” he snorted, reaching down and grasping Oriel’s forearms firmly to help pull him back to his feet again. “You wanna learn the hard way, or make this easy on yourself and just get the trainin’ wheels so we can get goin’?” Kodi bit his lip. “I dunno how easy it’d be t’catch onto it in a day.” At least this was turning out to be a very distracting distraction.
