Hammel Institute Student: Gender Shifter
Gender Shifting:
Jonathan has the ability to switch between the male and female gender. Jonathan was born a male, but identifies as genderfluid and/or nonbinary - their ability, once controlled, will become very convenient when it comes to this form of transgender. Their power is undeveloped, which means that the switches between genders are not yet "at will," but their shifting has potential to grow. The shifting has no triggers, but an involuntary shift can happen at any moment, including overnight while they're sleeping. There is no in-between state of male and female; their form must be completely female or male.
Jonathan will be stuck in one form versus another indefinitely; because the power is not in their control, they will not know when or where their next transformation will be. Typically, they will shift at least three times per week. Sometimes Jonathan will shift multiple times a day. There may be occasions where Jonathan has not shifted in a week or more. They are also limited to the two forms - the one male and one female form their power has offered them.
Personality:
Jonathan is extremely respectful. They are the type to call strangers or parents that aren't his "Mr" "Sir" "Ms" or "Ma'am" without prompting. They are the type to hold the door for people and help clean up after dinner. They are friendly and kind, a model individual in that sense, and is very reliable. However, they can be too nice in some situations.* Jonathan is a fun loving individual that likes going out on adventures, like long hikes and road trips, with his friends. It's very hard to become Jonathan's enemy. Despite being nice, Jonathan likes an intense argument or debate, especially over subjects they are passionate about such as LGBT matters.
They are a master with time management, but there is *one deviation: sometimes they will take other people's responsibilities onto themselves as a favor to them, and by doing that, stressing themselves out and overloading their strict schedule with tasks. Jonathan can be easily taken advantage of due to this. Jonathan is also a perfectionist. They always give their best because they want to give nothing less than that to other people, which has them spending more time on things that weren't their responsibility initially.
Jonathan is a leader. Their time management skills and their technical proficiency in many subjects really aid in their being a leader. They are able to properly command and instruct groups of people. They are good at public speaking and clearly conveying their thoughts to others. This makes them not at all shy; they are open and sociable.
With friends - They are reliable and trustworthy; they will always make time for you. They will stick by you and support you. If you need a hug, they are there to give it to you. If you need help, they will be right there to assist. If you're feeling down, they are right there to cheer you up. They are incredibly nice and respectful of your decisions, but will kindly turn you down if you attempt to influence them or will respectfully attempt to steer you in the correct path.
With enemies - They won't make it incredibly clear that they don't like you. They won't try to lash at you or upset you in any way. They will simply avoid you, and when you come to close for comfort, they will ask you don't bother them. The only attack they have is their quick wit, intelligence, and words. If you hurt their friends, they will respectfully ask you to step off or take the consequences of a report to someone with power. If you hurt them, they will struggle to understand why, as all they will have ever been to you is kind.

A Little History:
Jonathan was born and raised just outside of Washington DC, in Virginia. They were always a good kid - they were taught early to be respectful and responsible and those qualities reflected well on them in school. They were excellent in school grade-wise and they had plenty of friends through elementary school. When they were ten, their younger sister was born.
In middle school, their interests developed with things such as Debate Team, putting them in a more specific niche and crowd of people. Their friends from elementary school almost disappeared entirely from their life due to their less healthy interests, like drugs, cigarettes, and alcohol. In middle school, Jonathan had a crisis, discovering they had an interest cross dressing and an interest in the same sex romantically and sexually just as they would have interest in a girl. Ashamed and confused, Jonathan kept this a secret from their friends and family, trying to put themselves in line in a different manner - through the Army JROTC program in their high school.
They discovered they enjoyed JROTC very soon into their freshmen year of high school and decided to stick with it, doing extensions in the program such as Drill Team. They continued with Debate and also continued to excel in their core subjects. After the summer following freshmen year, at the very beginning of sophomore year - just after their fifteenth birthday - Jonathan made their first gender shift at the dinner table in front of their parents and sister. Soon after, recruitment officials from Hammel arrived at their house to explain the situation. Following that, Jonathan was booted from their own home by their own family and would dorm at Hammel.
Two years later, they have still not gained control over their power. As a senior, they hope to graduate on time, but they are doubtful due to the lack of control over their shifting.

Cool friends: some good people they will get along with, especially guys. I'd love for them to have some guy friends who are super accepting of their gender-fluidity - it would really boost their self-confidence, knowing they have some people on their side. Besides, Jonathan is a really fun guy - they want to go out to movies and concerts and sporting events and play video games and talk a lot. Let's go out and have some fun - seriously, an excuse for a break every once in a while would be great!
Bad influences: so as we all know, Jonathan is a real goody-two-shoes. I think it would be really interesting if we have a couple of folks trying to steer them the wrong way, making them noticeably less responsible and aware of what they have to do. Maybe these folks will even succeed in getting Jonathan to stray. Ooooh plot ppooooints.
Student-Teacher relationships: teachers - I WANT YOU! Jonathan will be your favorite. Always on task, never talks out, always turns in things on time, always respectful and helpful... yeah, they're a model student. But Jonathan does have their issues sometimes - they may get easily frustrated with certain things (especially sciences and their powers, which they have no control over) and their non-existent family life can pose some problems too. Some adult guidance/wisdom would be good for them. And, if they have a few bad influences coming in, I need y'all to notice their floundering and lack of care. Coolness!
