It was a relatively unfamiliar path for him, he didn't often visit the school psychiatrist's office, not unless it was entirely necessary. Honestly the man kind of intimidated him, he'd heard he was very good at his job and that put Devyn ill at ease.
He really didn't like the idea of someone being able to figure him out, it was the same level of fear he got when staring into deep water. Paralyzing. Which was precisely why he tried to stay off the man's radar, so it had been pretty upsetting when his teachers suggested a visit to the office.
They were /worried/ about him. He was always either studying, practicing, or working out, and he never went to the events around campus that were specifically held for students to relax. He was pretty good at hiding how stressed he was but he knew there was a slim chance of him graduating without a visit to Dr. Neville.
So, he opted to go himself, rather than being forced, and he hoped maybe his willingness would help, as if maybe the doctor would see him simply as a proactive student checking in with him out of a good
sense of responsibility.
Fat chance of that though in reality.
Devyn drew closer and closer to the man's office and his feet grew colder as he went. He steeled himself outside the door, pulling on that familiar curtain to shield what he felt from what everyone saw and adopted the gentle confidence he'd gotten so used to portraying.
"Hello?" He knocked gently at the open door, and peeked in, "It's Devyn I sent you an email asking if could stop by." Devyn moved further into the room once he saw that the man was indeed in the room.
He sank to the chair with a friendly smile, "I'm sorry if I interrupted anything."
