It was clear to him at that point that she wanted to come over. Second girl ever to set foot in his new house, and with some luck she would be coming over to his place a lot more in the coming years. Lucas, as he made his way to his front door after putting on some shoes, really thought this could be the one he had been waiting for all along as he put a single hand on the doorknob and held the phone to his ear with the other. ''Gimme a few, 'kay?'' He jokingly said as he turned the knob to open the door. He didn't so much need time as wanted time to quickly run up and down a few stores to get some stuff he- they would need.
Luckily he could reach most stores on foot, though maybe that was because his stamina and speed lay slightly higher than most. Be it as it was, he still remained in a conversation with Amber as he entered the first store, a liquor store where he could get some good whiskey. Or expensive, whatever. ''One bottle each? That enough?'' He asked as he, without awaiting an answer grabbed two very expensive bottles of whiskey and brought it up to the counter where he quickly paid in a way he would often find rude when other people did it. But Amber was way more important.
Off to the second store with her still close to his ear. She would no doubt hear he was moving around, hearing the bells of a door opening and the ruffling of packages. Amber wouldn't know what kind of store he was in, but she didn't need to know. Everyone who needed to know was in on it, and that was Luke. The packets he had gotten were something Amber wanted to buy with his money after their introduction in the stalls of the Hot Topic. Three of them to be exact. He did get some weird looks as he had both that and alcohol, but who cared at that point?
''I'll text ya, though that means I need ta hang up.'' He said as he walked home in a brisk pace. ''I'll miss ya.'' But he had gotten what he wanted to get so there was no more need to go and prolong anything, so he told her, ''See ya soon, Amb.'' And hung up as she told him goodbye too, after which he instantly went to texting her his address.
He opened the door to his house and made sure to hide the three packets of.. lord knew what from sight and blatantly placed the whiskey in a place she'd easily see before he plopped down on his couch.
Now to play the waiting game. He thought as he took off his shoes.
