Ace use to be best friends with Oliver back in Minnesota. They met through the basketball team, when Ace was a junior and Oliver was a freshman. They bonded as team mates and then became friends outside of it as well, despite their differences.
At the dance, Ace was the one who pulled Oliver away from AJ (his pheromones had been manipulated by AJ's power that night) and managed to stop him from taking things further due his strength (nothing superhuman, Ace just loves working out) He's still confused as to what happened, only knowing that AJ and Oliver moved states. Him and Oliver have kept in touch, and now has moved to Pilot Ridge to reconnect with his bro because Oliver wouldn't move back to Minnesota.
