The swimming pool was one of the places that Zeke felt pretty calm and in his element. Even though he'd graduated from Hammel, since he still had training practice there, he usually just swam in the pool there because it didn't cost him anything and he was familiar with the place. It was always new environments that made him the most nervous, so as long as he could keep coming here, he would, despite the fact that he was at least a couple years older than most of the other people there.
He half-wondered if he might see Rina around, but since he hadn't told her that he was coming over, he didn't expect to unless it was by accident. And that was okay with him - he liked the girl he was dating, but he didn't always feel up to being around her because it did stress him out somewhat. That was just how his mind worked, apparently.
So here he was, making laps in the pool, switching between different strokes in no particular order. It just felt good to move his hands through the water and pull himself powerfully forward, using his broad shoulders and back to move at a high pace. When he eventually tired enough for a break, he paused at the shallow end of the pool and leaned against the side, letting himself catch his breath as he looked around at the other people in the area. It wasn't all that crowded - probably because it was later in the evening on a weekday and most students were likely doing homework or socializing elsewhere - but that was just fine by him. Nearby, a couple of people that appeared to be a couple were paddling around, but he didn't pay them much attention. Once he caught his breath, he would take off again.
