The BasicsName: François Adams
Nicknames: Fancy
Age: 15 (May 17, 2000)
Orientation: Hetero….flexible? Probably
Desired Rank/Job: Student
Powers: Flower Power: Fancy can make flowers bloom. He can make existing flower buds bloom, as long as it’s a flowering plant. He does not need to be touching them for this to work, but merely be in a ten foot proximity to the plant. His power is very susceptible to his changing emotions. Flowers tend to bloom bright and vibrant when he is happy and excited, but when depressed, they will bloom in dark and black colors and quickly die. If he is under a flowering tree, no matter the season, he can make it bloom and shower petals down on himself. Side effects include dizzy spells and dry mouth from simple use, and hay fever during overuse, especially during the spring.

General Appearance:
Fancy has a big heart and a big smile that can swallow the world...almost literally. His most prominent features are his broad smile, his curly hair, and his solidly defined chin. A pair of dimples adorn either side of that wide smile. His hair is kept at shoulder length, it’s curls framing his youthful face, and shines a vibrant chestnut brown. His height reaches a generous 5’10”, though still being young, he presumably still has a fair ways to go before concluding his growth. Fancy keeps himself physically fit, both with trips to the gym and being regularly active in sports, such as track and softball.
Fancy is very plain in his style of clothing, opting for light and pastel colors over dark and gloomy colors. He prefers solids and simple designs over complex patterns, and denim over suede...or whatever material could be considered opposite of denim and fancy. Fancy, unfortunately, does not reflect his name when it comes to fashion.
Personality:
Fancy has a fairly even temperament, many people finding it difficult to rile him up to a level beyond ‘mildly irritated’. If he does get distressed, it tends to lean further towards the blubbering side of things rather than the yelling. He doesn’t really get angry at people or frustrated, preferring to take a calm, rational (and incredibly pacifist) approach to most conflicts. Fancy prefers to keep things friendly.
With a name like Fancy, one might suppose that he secretly hates his name, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. His given name is François, which just doesn’t fit with his tastes. Frank was another option as a nickname, but that didn’t appeal to him either. Fancy seems to fit just right. Of course he gets teased, but it’s hard to tease someone over something they personally don’t have a problem with, so those kind of jibing remarks are fewer than expected. His power, too, is a possible source of embarrassment, but flowers just so happen to be one of his favorite things, so Fancy felt like it really suited him when he finally manifested. Though he still has a long way to go in the ways of control, Fancy has a lot of fun in training for his power.
Fancy, unfortunately, does have a very real phobia of all things creepy and scary and dark. He blames his family for this outright, especially his sister who spares nothing in using her goth and love for horror as a means to rile him up. While Fancy doesn’t like lying, he also doesn’t want people to know about his home life, and so will gently turn the subject away from his family whenever they happen to come up. He doesn’t bring people home, he stays in the dorms to avoid needing to, and actively avoids being seen in public with them(to no avail as his sister is very good at tracking him down and is an even better runner than he is). Fancy doesn’t hate his family by any means, and he does respect the work that they do….it’s just exasperating being around them for any length of time as they are his biggest, most nefarious bullies.
Fancy tends to be a bit of a dreamer, spacing out on occasion in the middle of class, captivated by the gorgeous world just outside the window. He enjoys going up to the rooftop and gazing up at the stars, or peeking at them from his telescope in his bedroom at home. He likes studying astrology as well as astronomy, though doesn’t put any credence into it. However, if asked, Fancy will say he does believe in fate, true love, and karma.Your VicesLikes:

Susan Hwang and Philip Adams met at a social function of questionable shared interests. The hit it off right away, finding mutual interests in a variety of things, including their aspiring occupations. Philip told the story of his first wife Jane, whom he was married to for seven years, got fed up with him and his work, and thus left him. He was allowed joint custody of their daughter until Jane’s living situation became too chaotic and unstable, according to the courts, and thus he was granted full custody of their gorgeous daughter. Susan was fine with dating a formerly married man, and was even very warm to Sunny whenever she’d come over for a home date.
It was a few years later that they married and had a child of their own, a bright eyed younger brother to the much gloomier girl of nine years. The two half-siblings grew up as any normal pair of siblings should - with the older sister constantly bullying the younger brother. If there was a way to make him cry, then she would find it. It didn’t help that his parents thought that his crying in response to creepy things was adorable, and so only minimally regulated those interactions. Actually, as Fancy grew older, his parents started to engage in it too, as it was simply too easy, especially since they weren’t doing anything more than going about their jobs. Susan had the bad habit of making her stuffed animals walk around and perform household duties when she was too lazy to do it herself, while Philip was constantly leaving body parts lying around. Fancy recalls a time when he was searching for the remote for the television in the cushions of the couch, and ended up finding his dad’s hand instead.
Halloween was always celebrated in the Adams home. Yes, they noticed the irony of their similarities to The Adams Family from the old television show and movie, and had no problem in exacerbating that likeness. They always encouraged the children to live up the night as much as they could, because they wouldn’t be able to when they got older(obviously, with the two silly parents being the perfect example). Because of how festively his family celebrates halloween(and any other holiday that involves massive amounts of sweets and food), Fancy developed a severe distaste for sugar. He can’t get away from it during the holidays, but during the rest of the year, Fancy goes out of his way to avoid sweets and eat as healthy as he can manage.
When Fancy was ten, he and his sister were out hiking in the woods. This was also, unfortunately, another of Sunny’s ploys to get a good yelp out of her younger brother. Unfortunately, the tactic worked too well, and Fancy found himself running...and then falling down a ravine where he hit his head as he slid down to the bottom. He was rushed to the hospital where he straddled the line between life and death(so his mother tells the story) for what seemed like ages, until he finally opened his eyes again after a full 3 hours after the incident, feeling (almost) perfectly fine. He had stitches, but there wasn’t any permanent damage, though they still kept him at the hospital for at least another day for observation. To this day, Fancy remembers the incident, and while he doesn’t hold a grudge against his sister, he does instead worry that she thinks he might hate her and avoid her because of that incident. Little does he know that Sunny had completely forgotten about it by the year’s end and still does to this day.
Fancy’s manifestation wasn’t a very big event, at least not by common standards(whatever those are), but his parents took to celebrating it anyway. It happened amid yet another prank set up by his sister(she denies all accusations), which involved Fancy ‘accidentally’ walking in on her watching her favorite horror flick. Fancy yelped and backed away from the living room, and as his distress continued to rise, the household plants in the room suddenly perked up and sprouted blossoms left and right. Black blossoms, of course. Fancy fainted, thinking that it had finally happened and a poltergeist had come to haunt their home. He woke up to the sound of confetti poppers and champagne(don’t serve it to children you no-good parents!) and the formal announcement that at the age of 13 years old, their son François Adams, had finally become a man! As they already lived in the neighborhood, Susan and Phillip took him down to Hammel the very next day and had him enrolled.
For the first year or so, Fancy commuted from home, as the walk was not terribly far and he enjoyed the scenery(especially if he took the shortcut through the woods), but as he got older, and his parents just seemed...to get weirder with age...Fancy decided that he was better off living in the dorms. It made it easier for him to make friends and hang out with them without having to worry about his father taking off his head to peek at them from around the corner...or his mother having a stuffed muskrat carry in a plate of snacks….or his sister sneaking up on him through the walls….Roleplay ExampleHay un gato en los pantalones. 青い猫を食べたい。What About You?Name: Pheli, who else?
