None for you (Xun)

Nao nodded, slowly lowering his eyes from his friend. "You're right," he said softly. "I wouldn't have." He had no reason to even suspect. He nodded again when Xun introduced his roommate. "Mm, I do. We met at the Halloween dance." How could he forget? Though he forgot the boy's name, he definitely remembered his face. And this one wasn't the one who'd blurted out that upsetting comment out of nowhere.

Though that made Nao wonder if it would be a similar situation if he asked about.....what was his name? Devyn, right. About Devyn and Xun. Would it be uncalled for? Did the fact that he'd walked in on them doing...that....make a difference?

Surprisingly, it was that boy Devyn who disrupted the awkward air with his exclamation about Bunny's cupcakes, and Nao snapped his head up, eyes slightly widened in surprise. "Yes!" he said with a slight pitch in his voice. "They're from Bunny. You know her too?" he asked, tilting his head with curiosity. What a coincidence....then again, they did all go to the same school, so probably not all that unlikely. The previous scene completely forgotten for the moment, Nao smiled slightly at the offer. "Okay, there's plenty for all of us if you'd like some too!" While Nao was a little disappointed that that meant he would get less cupcakes, he also had another stash in his dorm that he planned to share with Ray....he might take an extra one for himself secretly before then.

Nao was glad the awkward air had passed, but his attention was drawn away from the conversation by the direction Xun's gaze was taking, and he followed it for a brief moment before looking away again....and then again looking back at those well defined abs of Xun's roommate. His cheeks turned a bright shade of red as he stared, sharing the same look of awe that Xun had. This might have been the first time that Nao had been rendered speechless by someone's smoking abs.

If he had been asked before today Devyn would definitely not have thought he was the cuddling type. Sure he liked people and was okay with hugs and didn't even really mind being close to people, but he had just never thought he would enjoy or crave contact with someone this much. Maybe, maybe it was just Xun that made him want this kind of attention, he blushed at the thought and decided to stop thinking along that line before he got himself, even more, flustered.

Which was a decision that was almost immediately countered by Xun's confession, and he blushed deeply. He wasn't able to respond, despite the fact that he really /really/ wanted to, because it was about this time that they both became very distracted by Nao's presence.

Devyn was not so much upset as he was concerned. Concerned for his own closeted status and the fact that two people no knew where a few hours ago it had been a rather well-guarded secret. And yes, his chest did feel like it was constricting anytime he thought of this fact, which was why he was choosing not to think about it right now.

"We... We probably should have locked the door," Devyn answered, sheepishly and decided not to include the fact that they /had/ been rather distracted when it all went down.
Devyn did retain the decency to be a little shameful that Nao remembered him from the dance. Thankfully, Nao seemed okay with his attempt to break the tenseness. "Yeah! She's cool and she makes me treats!"

"Oh, wow, thanks!" he was suprised Nao offered him any considering the situation, but he stepped forward to get one anyway. That way if he was eating it he didn't manage to say anything stupid. 

He was suddenly very aware of his half dressed status, what with two pairs of eyes very obviously focusing on his stomach. "Oh my-" his face turned a bright red as he began his exclamation, but his voice rose in embarrassment and he shut his mouth very quickly. "I-I-I'mgonnaputashirton." He stuttered out quickly before moving quickly to his room and pulling a hoodie on before coming back out. He might not have been so self-conscious of their looks had they not reminded him of Xun mouth on his stomach not very long ago.

Xun let out an awkward puff of air in agreement at Dev’s comment about them locking their door. They should have…. Definitely. But they’d obviously both been in too much of a hurry to… to do what they’d done… to even think about it. Aish, what had come over him….?

“Right… the dance,” he mumbled, a fresh wave of embarrassment running through him at that memory. When Sunar had asked if he and Nao were together… Xun couldn’t help but wonder what the other boy thought of that memory, but he wasn’t going to ask. “I… I think I should meet this Bunny, she seems to know everyone,” he went on, eager to change the subject. “And she seems to like to make food for everyone too…” But then again, maybe he could just convince Dev to share next time….? Would it be easier now, since they’d…?

He shook his head of those thoughts. His mind was all over the place today, wasn’t it? “Ah, okay!” he chirped eagerly. He’d only had one cupcake so far, he would be okay if he had one or two more. “You are very sweet to think of me….” To have thought to bring the cupcakes over to share with him, was what he meant, but he was flustered and speaking was difficult.

Speaking of getting flustered… Xun was too captivated by those slightly damp stomach muscles to realize that Nao was staring, too, and that it had become obvious to his roommate what they were both looking at. He jolted out of his daydreaming when Dev became flustered and ran out of the room. “… Oops….” he mumbled, risking a small glance at Nao. “….. He is… Attractive… Yes…?” he managed to stammer out. Of course, Nao was too, but… He obviously didn’t think of Xun in that way, because of he’d reacted at the dance. He fidgeted awkwardly and gingerly reached for a cupcake that he’d started nibbling by the time Dev returned. “… S-sorry, Devyn,” he apologized, still red-faced. “I did not mean to make you uncomfortable….” He hesitated, then took up another cupcake and shyly offered it to him. “… T-try not to get it on your lips again,” Xun stammered, then immediately snapped his lips shut and widened his eyes in shock at his boldness. What would Nao think?!

In this situation, the environment was one that was much more comfortable and at a pace he could match. Despite the scene he happened upon, he wasn’t exactly scarred for life. It was the person he caught in that situation that he found startling. Xun was effectively his best friend, someone he shared almost everything with. He was the first one he’d told about his sexuality, the second person he kissed, his sparring partner, and Chinese conversation partner. They both had essentially the same power as well. There were so many things that made them close, so to find out that Xun was already this far into a relationship…if that’s what it was….was shocking. “Of course,” he said with a gentle smile. “I wouldn’t forget about you.” Nao did wonder if he should say anything about himself and Ray? It wasn’t like they were together either…

Even so, Devyn seemed…like a nice guy. He liked sweets, so that was a plus already. He knew Bunny(Bunny really did seem to know everybody, as Xun pointed out). He was gracious when offered one of his spare cupcakes, and Nao nodded in response. And he was….those abs…those muscles…

Nao turned a bright red and dipped his head when he realized he’d been staring and that Devyn had noticed him staring as well! He smiled slightly once Devyn had rushed out of the room, and took out one of the cupcakes for himself. “He is…now that I have a better look.” It had been too dark to see so at the dance. “Y-you’re lucky,” he said, as a sort of congratulations to his friend. “Even Ray isn’t that well defined.” Nao mused over it with a small smile then bit into his cupcake. Mmm…it was delicious and sweet. When Devyn returned, the air seemed to relax again…but only a moment, as something very…intimate seemed to be going on between the two boys, something that again made Nao blush. And stare. He was trying not to, honestly, but his eyes wouldn’t stay straight in front of him, instead drifting back to the pair. How silly….Nao giggled, covering his mouth with a small, meek fist. “You guys are cute together,” he said earnestly, but then corrected himself. “I mean…if you are together. I’m sorry for assuming if I’m wrong.” Naozumi dipped his head slightly in his apology…just in case.

Devyn was happy for the change in subject from the stupidity of not locking the door as well as the still fresh memories of the Halloween dance, "You definitely should!" He agreed, they'd probably get along considering Xun's love of food and their similar level of innocence. "I get cupcakes from her now and then so we could just share but if she gives food to you too then we'll have twice as many!" And if he could rope Nao into sharing his, they would have three times as many. He didn't mind too much about sharing with Xun at the moment, sure he was still pretty greedy about his food but he didn't imagine he'd feel very comfortable with /not/ sharing after what they'd just done.

The exact nature of Xun and Nao's relationship remained in question considering the tenderness and... something else he couldn't quite place in their voices. Xun said they were friends but he wondered if there was or had been something else between them.

He waved off Xun's apology, "I-It's fine," he preferred not to think about it in case a fresh wave of embarrassment came over him. Though Xun found another way of embarrassing him, and he hung his head low, "I'll try not to," he spoke sheepishly before taking the cupcake and biting into it.

He remained unaware of the conversation the two had about him as he was missing, he supposed the blood rushing to his face had been of more concern than eavesdropping. He looked at Nao in surprise, what was it about these two and never failing to say things that caused him so much embarrassment.
Well, he couldn't say he disliked what he had said... He rather liked the sound of it. He hadn't really thought of the two of them as together but he certainly liked that he looked cute, maybe even good standing next to Xun.

"It's ah it's fine," he shook his head at the apology, history seemed to be repeating itself, maybe this was revenge for Halloween, "this is kind of a recent development....This is kind of the...first time... We haven't really.... talked about it yet?" He managed to speak without stuttering but looked to Xun, hoping he was okay with the answer he had given, he had no clue what this meant to his roommate. He had hoped they would figure that out afterwards... but things happened and plans changed.

Xun would have definitely told Nao about this… If he’d seen him before now after it had actually happened, because before this incident, there wasn’t anything to talk about. As far as he’d been concerned, he and Dev had just been roommates, nothing more. His head was still spinning at how fast everything had happened, even for him. He smiled shyly at Nao’s response, choosing not to say anything in return in case he embarrassed himself further.

He turned his attention back to Dev at the talk about this Bunny person. “Really?” he asked, awed. “I love free food…” Too bad he was so socially awkward, it would probably be hard for him to make friends with the girl unless she decided she liked him and was better at conversing than he was. Still… “I will see what I can do,” he told Devyn with a smile. Aish, he really did need to keep better control of his diet, though…

Xun kept nibbling on his cupcake as he waited for Devyn to return, looking shyly at Nao as he mentioned his roommate’s attractiveness. “You, ah, you think so?” he replied, blushing. He sure did feel lucky… but then… “Ray?” he repeated, remembering Nao mentioning that guy before. His eyes widened in curiosity. “You have done things with him?” His friend hadn’t told him that before, had he? That was what Xun was mulling over when Dev returned, and must have been why he’d been so distracted and flustered to say such a silly and embarrassing thing! He filled his mouth with a huge bite of pastry, and thus could only stare in bewilderment and chew when Nao spoke up. Fortunately Devyn answered for him, and Xun nodded quickly in agreement before swallowing.

“It… ah, we…” How were they supposed to explain? “It just… sort of… happened…. A little while ago…” he mumbled sheepishly. “I never would have expected…” Xun glanced over to Devyn, feeling his cheeks flushing again. “… A-anyway, ah, these cupcakes are really good, yes?” he quickly changed the subject, trying to prevent his heart from hammering out of its chest. He gave Nao a glance, as though trying to communicate that they could talk about it more when they were alone and didn’t have the subject of Xun’s recently developed desires in the same room as them.

Naozumi nodded along with Devyn’s enthusiasm. “Yes! Then we can all share them!” As long as they each got the cupcakes or treats separately, then they’d each get an assortment made to be shared, equalling in three times the number of cupcakes. But…that would definitely be dishonest, he thought. “Or we could just tell her to make a lot for all of us,” he suggested. Then they could have a huge cupcake party, with Bunny as the hostess. Nao would invite Ray, since he knew her too, and…..this was going to turn into some sort of fan club for the young girl, if they didn’t watch themselves.

But cupcakes aside, the more important matter of Xun’s relationship with Devyn had come up again, while Devyn was gone to clothe himself again. Nao blushed tenderly when Xun asked him about Ray, and he nodded meekly. “Yes…a while back,” he admitted, as though he were confessing something he shouldn’t have. “I meant to tell you.” Nao was just always terrible about remembering to say things about…well, anything.

They didn’t get much further in that conversation as that was when Devyn came back and the two other boys were just being very….cute together. Nao couldn’t really process just how different Xun was acting towards his roommate, it wasn’t exactly a side that Nao had seen before. The closest was when Nao and he practiced a kiss together, and that had been so long ago…

Ah, the question had been answered, and it wasn’t the one he expected. “Oh!” he exclaimed upon hearing the truth. “I’m sorry. I thought this was something that’d been going on for a while, but that makes sense.” As in, it made sense why Nao didn’t know about it, or even suspect it. Nao smiled and nodded as Devyn made commentary on the cupcakes again, feeling like he wanted to change the subject as well. “Yes, they are, aren’t they?” he agreed with a smile.

But then thoughts turned straight back to where they should have been. “So…you two are just friends….and you’re okay doing this sort of thing together?” He needed to know. “It’s not weird?”

Despite the fact that Devyn had been very much involved in what had occurred, and also the one who started it, he felt very out of place in this conversation. Aside from offering small pieces of distracting observations on how many cupcakes they could hoard if they worked together. Which, as amazing as it was, was not offering much help to the situation at hand.

At least, Nao seemed to agree with the importance of junk food gathering, though, and he was sure Xun would jump on board with his plan as well, eventually. "Hmm," knowing her she would definitely be up for the idea, "That's probably a better plan."

So, for the most part, he stood awkwardly next to Xun, trying not to feel too overly aware of how much he'd seen of him not too long ago, and that according to Nao they were cute together. Yeah, that one he definitely tried not to let his mind take off with. Which tended to happen anyway when Xun smiled back at him and Devyn found his cheeks flushing a light pink as he smiled back.

It was a bad idea to lock eyes with Xun as they stuttered their way through an explanation of what exactly had occurred, because he felt the heat run through his face all the way down to his shoulders when Xun looked at him. Of course, he hadn't expected Devyn to suddenly kiss him over a box of cupcakes, but being reminded of what had led them to this situation was.... just shy of mortifying.

"Yeah," he managed to let out an agreement on how good they were, just as desperate to end the conversation for now. But against his wants, the conversation continued on for a bit and he felt himself becoming infinitely more sheepish about the topic. Nao really knew which questions would make him the most embarrassed it seemed, it was a trait that both of the friends seemed to share.

He coughed, choking a bit on the bite of pastry in his mouth and daring to look over at his roommate. Devyn had maintained a steady state of crimson since the last question and it had yet to change, "I-I don't think it's weird... We really haven't talked about that yet, though." About what any of this meant for their current relationship, and while he did want to talk to Xun about it, he just preferred it be not right now.
